Just stopped of here after walking our dogs on the beach the staff where so welcoming, we had a starter and a main and 4 drinks and was very pleased with the bill, but the mane thing for us was how lovely the staff are. The food was amazing also would highly recommend and will most defiantly be returning! Xx

Dropped in for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Lovely cold glass of rose wine and the ABSOLUTE BEST fish and chips I’ve ever eaten!! 10/10 🙌

Nice pub and great prices, had a buskers night on with some really good talent. The music was at the right level to be able to have a conversation.

Where do l start, l booked a table for 7 people for my Wife's Birthday on Tuesday 18th July to arrive at 12pm on Saturday 22nd July, 5 days previous. Having been given the menu's we proseded to order our meals, four of our party ordered Potato skins, what they received was potatoe skin from one Potatoe, absolute disgrace. On Ordering the main course l was told sorry we don't have your choice on today so l ordered mince and dumpling as an alternative, to be told sorry we don't have that either, so for third choice l decided to have something from the special board, so l ordered Steak Pie only to be told we don't have this either, ended up with Scampi, well monk fish in batter, no Scampi in sight, awful, thinking l booked this table five days previous to arriving you might of been mistaken thinking the place would of made an effort to have at least half a menu on show, dessert was perfect if you were 6yrs old or younger, Choc cake, custard or ice cream, knowing Ollie Bernard from his days at Morpeth Town FC he was a perfectionist, well sorry Ollie your food and service are definitely not, once bitten twice shy, never again will l or my family book a meal again at the Mason's in Blyth, stay well clear.

We booked a table a week in advance for 8 people at 7pm . I came from Scotland to meet old friends, one of my friends came on a flight from Ireland for a meal at the masons. I didn't know they had started doing food turns out i was right they don't. We had all just met up after not seeing each othet for months so naturally we were chatting. We were given only one menu between us the waitress came across at 7 15 , we said sorry we haven't decided yet and only have one menu. Someone then got us some more, as we were about to orderat 7:30 , she came across and said the chef said hes not cooking now . Really we thought it was a joke. Some of us got a drink on the house other's didn't as yet again we were confused because we weren’t told it was . What a pity because it had a lovely atmosphere and had changed alot since i was there .unfortunately everywhere was booked being a Saturday night. Some of my friends went home to eat and we ended up with a takeaway back at the b and b . I certainly wouldn't book there for food again. What an embarrassing let down.

Fab place we went for the tapas night, food was great very authentic, everyone very friendly and what a surprise there was live music (Buskers Night) which was excellent, so all in all a very enjoyable evening, would highly recommend

Attended a family wedding, venue was a lovely intimate venue. Staff were brilliant and the food was top draw. The main course was a beef dinner and could not fault it. Would 100% recommend!

Great Sunday dinner friendly staff recommended

Decided to give the Masons a try, it is local to us but we had never been before. We had some G and T's to start off with, very reasonable prices and had a late lunch/early tea. My wife had fishcake starter, which was very nice with big chunks of fish, I had chicken goujons with spicy sauce, nice too. For mains She had steak pie, it was the steakiest pie ever with big chunks of tender steak in delicious gravy, I went for the north sea cod which was nice but I just wished I had had one of those pies too, I will next time. The pub is nicely done, it looks a bit old fashioned from outside but is fresh inside and very clean, the staff were great, helpful, freindly and attentive, nothing was a bother. It was 3pm when we went and a little quiet so we could not judge the atmosphere fully. We are not saying this is a five star establishment but for the type of pub it is it was very good, we were impressed and will definitely go again In fact, I feel this bar is a bit of a hidden gem!

Went here for breakfast with santa this morning, what a disaster from start to finish. Our booking was for 10-15am but we didn't get our food till 11-45 and the food that came was nothing short of disgusting. First of all it was all cold, the scrambled eggs were actually fried eggs and were rock hard, black pudding and mushrooms were missing from the plate and the toast was completely burned black. We were given more toast which was obviously done on a dirty griddle and tasted horrible. The drinks also took ages to come and the so called hot chocolate was barely warm. I don't know who was doing the cooking but they obviously had no idea what they were doing. This was our second visit here for food, our first visit didn't go well either so I won't be returning unless a new chef is employed. Not good at all.

Not been to this pub for a few years. It went into a decline much like many pubs in Blyth. Locals may remember it as a 'Grab a Granny' place with the disco on a Saturday night. It would be a packed pub people would pub crawl around the pubs in a certain order, the Joiners Arms over the road being in the mix which is now a convenience store how times change. Anyway....the 'Masons' has been taken over, refurbished and I thought it worth a visit on a sunny afternoon, the layout is as it ha always been the bar is in the same place and is the horizontal part of an 'L' shape the pool table has gone, at that end is the exit to the Covid19 friendly outdoor seating area which was a car park. The seating outside is a bit industrial if I am thinking of s description but that is not off putting. Inside there are booths with tables and bench seats, good for food order patrons and free flow seating by the bar. Large screen T.V.'s are installed. Decor is pleasant. The staff were very friendly and chatty and informed my wife and I there was a booked event on and we would have to leave at a certain time. They were courteous in their request. Stayed for a beer, Heineken was good, others are on offer, take your choice. Would have tried food at the time but time was not our side. Cannot comment on the toilets as we didn't need them. Overall we were impressed and this could be our 'Local' live music is now on so that's a plus. GO THERE.

First time coming to the masons heard the food is lovely so though we would go for our Sunday lunch and try it, I had the lamb my husband had the beef and my mam had the chicken! Could not fault the dinner at all they where lush everything was cook beautifully and so tender. Me & my husband had the chocolate cake they had on offer for £1.50 came with cream are ice cream and it was worth every penny it was lush!! My mam had the chocolate brownie and said that was lovely too. Would definitely recommend to any one. We are definitely going back.. staff where friendly and very helpful.

Saturday evening take away for the family. Starters mains and deserts all really tasty large portions and good value. Arrived early so sampled cheeky pint of Moretti. Beer excellent also. Would recommend to anyone. Will be back.

I would give a 5 star for The Masons Arms except for one of the bar staff who is very snotty with everyone, I have had multiple family members and friends tell me about the same bar staff being very snotty with them. I love this bar, it looks great and the food is really nice, its just that one member of staff.

The masons Arms is a great place since the refurbishment and new owners and team are so friendly. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is great from a business coffee to a social drink with friends. During the day we have also been very welcome as a family. The real fire 🔥 adds depth and character. During lockdown we have had several amazing takeaways from the masons and all have been exceptionally delicious. A real hidden gem 💎 Give it a visit 10 out of 10

Food was dry and was inedible. Tasted absolutely horrendous.

Had a few meals here now and all have been lovely, the lamb Sunday dinners are particularly good. The Lotus Biscuit cheese cake is a must try when they have it on.

Really enjoy eating and drinking at the Masons Arms. Had about six or seven meals in the restaurant and four or five takeaways. All good! Hope they can keep going through the lockdown period and we'll be ordering takeaways if available. Would highly recommend!

My husband and I had rib eye steak never had a steak like it cooked to perfection beautiful meal.The dessert mason's mess was also delicious.The staff could not have been nicer.All in all a fantastic meal.

This is a newly run bar and restaurant,we waited quite a while for food ,a few teething problems but once our food arrived it was absolutely delicious, would highly recommend the Black and Blue burger. The staff are very friendly and I know they will go from strength to strength.

Only been in the once. This was on a busy football day. The place was packed to the rafters with visiting fans but the staff coped well and not a hint of trouble.

An excellent local pub, quiet in the early part of the week, Thursday night it had one of the best busker nights, in the area, there are live bands on Friday night, performing anything from classic rock, to the Manchester sound of the 90's, then on Saturday it's a 60's 70's 80's disco, a lot of free entertainment on, it is also the nearest pub to Blyth Spartans football ground, it only being about 400 yards away, well worth checking this pub out.
