Felicitaciones a este excelente establecimiento por transportarme directamente a 1995 — un momento más simple cuando las máquinas de cartas eran brujería y la evasión de impuestos aparentemente era solo buen sentido comercial. Llamado por adelantado para hacer un pedido, todo parecía estar bien... hasta que me presenté, listo para pagar como un ser humano normal en 2025, con una tarjeta de débito. No hay mención en el teléfono, y ni siquiera cierta simpatía por mis hijos que vinieron a recogerlo. Déjame entender esto: ¿estás dirigiendo un restaurante en el mundo moderno, solo tomas efectivo (qué conveniente) , no se lo dices a los clientes por adelantado, y luego envías a los niños hambrientos a casa vacíos - con las manos porque no te puedes molestar en comunicar las opciones básicas de pago? Eso no es solo un mal servicio, es casi vergonzoso. Si esta pequeña política de “solo efectivo” es una manera inteligente de evitar las tarifas de las tarjetas o una manera no - tan - inteligente de esquivar impuestos, no puedo decir. Pero puedo decir que no volveré — y tampoco debería hacerlo nadie más que no lleve un fajo de veinteañeros en el calcetín. Absolutamente vergonzoso. Cero estrellas si pudiera.

Amazing food, some of the best Chinese we’ve had in the UK. Mostly dishes you won’t find in most British Chinese restaurants, some of them would be for adventurous eaters! The lady running it was happy to adapt one of the dishes for me because I don’t eat eggs, which was very welcome. Can’t wait to get back to Newcastle and eat here again!

Fantastic brunch, slightly pricey, but very tasty with great service.

Be very careful using the car park…play it safe and pay the parking. Have a system to put in your reg. Didn’t work for me and got a £180 parking fine. No one at the pub interested or wanted to help get it cancelled 🙄

This chippy is good quality with fish with actual taste not like others that are just white

Food is generally good, although they do sometimes mix orders resulting in literally a 'mixed bag' of food. Where this place let's it down is service, there seems to be nobody who is in charge and the staff seem poorly trained. They don't even know their own menu and ordering is often a chore - the iPad till set up should be fairly straightforward to use but even this confuses their front of house staff. Top marks for the Katsu Curry, and the wraps are good.

The library is wonderful and has many study places to suit everyone, in addition to the educational resources that are readily available. All services are excellent and the location of the library is exceptional. It just lacks more variety in the meals served in the cafeteria.

I am absolutely appalled by the handling of allergies at this venue. A friend had listed all her allergies and was told multiple times the food was safe to eat. It was not. The food that was served resulted in anaphylactic shock requiring paramedic intervention. The manager had an attitude and refused to tell us exactly what was in the food as the reaction was onsetting. This kind of behavior was disgusting to say the least and I sincerely hope anyone ever considering this venue takes their business elsewhere. It’s hard to believe there are people who can be this grossly ignorant about someone’s life and wellbeing.

Visited for breakfast with my partner, was given unclear instructions on how to order - everyone was pleasant, however when approached by one of the workers asking if we had ordered, I said ‘not yet’ to which she bluntly and (quite frankly) rudely responded ‘we’re open til five, you know?’ and walked away. This would’ve been fine as a joke if she told us how to order, but since we weren’t greeted by any staff, we didn’t know. My partner ordered a full english, and the quality of the ingredients were good, however £16 for one sausage and two rare bits of bacon is a bit steep for up north. I ordered the ‘açai’, which was a lovely greek yoghurt bowl with not one drop of açai. I would appreciate true advertising as although the menu did state it had some greek yoghurt, my lactose intolerant self didn’t know I would just be getting a bowl of that. Plus side, fruit and honey were both really fresh and plenty yummy granola. Would we return? No. This is only due to the pricing and misinformation on the menu - coffee was really nice, and my partner may pop back for an ice cream.

Food has been horrible. To warm glasses with my cold drink. Cold chips that tasted like they been out under a heat lamp all day, looks like the same skin on chips but didn't taste the same. Chicken was okay, but the flavour tasted different and was disgusting.
