Precious owners were amazing but sad to say it’s gone downhill now it’s changed hands, both in food and service. The previous owners can now be found at lavender kitchen which is located on Banstead high street and it’s thriving. Same as roast and ground was but a bigger restaurant
Whilst the Brook's main dishes consist of battered and fried chicken and fish replacements from the asian supermarket (by the brand TKC, see pictures attached), the owner Thea - a miserably failed country singer- is literally one of the most passive aggressive, arrogant, evil, ungrateful and patronising employers I have ever had. 0 capability to own a business or take any responsibility or accountability, ever. As a vegan herself, it seems quite pretentious to brand yourself as someone who's nice to animals but a total bully to humans/ employees. This place looks closed for now and seems to have gotten what it deserved. Rebranding an already existing, asian product as your own, simply does sit not well with me and shouts peak of white entitlement.
Ordered a couple of jacket potatoes at about 1pm. Half an hour later they still hadn't arrived. Gave up and got a refund. Should have told us when we ordered that there was such a big wait.

Ordered yesterday the salmon was dangerously burnt. No idea why they thought it was acceptable for it to be sent to customers. Also the sheekh kebab was also overdone and tasted like rubber.
My partner did speak to the manager who initially said all his drivers are busy but he could delivery it the next day (as it was late in the night we agreed) but I needed to call back to remind him.
The next day I did call back and surprise surprise the manager wasn’t around. The person on the phone had no idea of this. Well to restaurant here is a picture of what you sent. Hope you don’t send out anymore burnt food to your customers.
Booked in advance for my daughters 10th birthday party for her and 11 of her friends. Rang the restaurant prior to the party and agreed the menu with the Manager.
Had great service, food was delicious and the team were great! Kids had a fab time and not a scrap of food left.
We’ve been as a family before numerous times which is why we chose the venue, but I have to say very warm and welcoming and so helpful.
Highly recommend
Placed an order for delivery , an hour and a half later I rang and was told it would be 10-15 mins . I asked if that was true we would but if it’s longer we will turn delivery away . I was told abruptly they don’t know so cancel the order . Very poor customer relation skill , regardless I would never place an order with them again .
Such nice staff
It’s like family
My daughter aged 4 absolutely love this place…. The food is fantastic. But not so good on the waistline LOL
There is a little Softplay bar place in the back. You can’t use it between three and five Saturday and Sunday because they hire it out for parties.
The Wi-Fi is excellent. They have like 52 ice creams. And they do a deal that if you buy lunch you get free Softplay.
My daughter absolutely loves the staff who are kind and wonderful with the children. The coffee is great. The cakes are great. The food is great. The bathrooms are clean and nice.
It is a safe environment for children.
And it is our little place of heaven. Thank you to the staff. Liz and AJ
Very reasonable I had a burger and I felt I had to say that it was the best burger I've had in Wallington in the last few years!!, it really was good and compelled me to write this review!! Thank you rumbling tums!!!
The chips were reheated, very dry, tasted horrible, smelt awful. I am old and I've never had such rubbish chips. I threw them away. Suffice to say I shan't return.
No podía creerlo.
Lovely little cafe, set back from the road, beside a children's playground. Both coffee and cake were excellent. Not perhaps the most comfortable of venues - a bit bare with the ambiance of a school drill hall - but the staff were friendly. Clientele seems to be mainly parents (with children on the swings!), dog walkers having a break, and the odd singleton on their laptop.
I recommend it if you are in the vicinity.
