Very disappointed with the sandwiches, bread was very dry and the smoked salmon bagel was frozen! BLT contains cold bacon rashers. All in all - an expensive, disappointing lunch. Will not frequent the cafe again .
Went to collect a takeaway. Poor food and service - think it's now permanently closed?! We have had problems previously with missed dishes and long delays (up to an hour).
Really lovely takeaway. My partner has been ill recently and Chinese food seems to be one of the only things he can eat at the moment. We have tried other places but this is the best. Tasty, fresh and well cooked.
The 2 full breakfasts appeared very quickly but unfortunately apart from the hash browns and fried eggs it was lukewarm. ie the bacon, tomato, chipolata and baked beans had obviously been “sitting” for some while. I’ll stick to their excellent cheese scones in future!
Just found out that the Rising Sun in Aldeburgh has closed down. What a terrible shame. The best chinese takeaway around. My husband isn't keen on chinese but has always enjoyed their food. It's ashame that they didn't have the space to convert to a restaurant as they would have made a killing. It's been reported that it's for financial and personal reasons. I know we are still in the grip of a cost of living crisis but we would have been prepared to pay higher cost for their great food. Goodbye Rising Sun you will be sorely missed
A very enjoyable Afternoon Tea was had in the quiet surroundings of the Seckford Hall Hotel.
On arrival, were greeted by reception staff and shown through to a large but pleasantly laid out Lounge.
A choice of beverage was offered, while Afternoon Tea was prepared.
The food, very fresh and full flavoured, consisted of a selection of sandwiches, sausage roll, cheese scone, fruit scone, clotted cream & jam and cakes.
All presented very nicely on triple layer serving stand.
Staff were polite and attentive to add to the whole experience.
Booked table for large party last minute, some eating, some drinking! Staff really friendly and helpful. Good solid pub food, good beer. It was open mic night and the rowdy locals provided great entertainment. Love this place, great old country pub with lots of folk history!
Just popped in for a lunchtime meal , Limited menu had beef lasagne with a side salad and garlic bread.
£10.50.
The lasagne had been reheated it was dry and very crisp and hard in places and not hot , basically I left most of it and told them it wasn't very nice at all.
Just before I left a member of staff approached me and gave me £5 back and said she was sorry it wasn't good.
So if it's not good don't serve it to customers....
Not Happy!.
Passing through the village we decided to drop in for a light bite and drink before continuing our journey. Was greeted by the pleasant landlady and took our food order. Sat by the wood log burner (nice) . The sandwiches when served were very tasty and well presented. If passing thru do pop in and give them your custom.
We use this chinese regularly and the food is always absolutely delicious - it's our go to after a late swimming lesson! Thank you for saving our Thursdays!
Astonishing customer service! Within five minutes of a customer mentioning that a gate legged table was difficult to sit at the management had replaced it with a much more suitable table. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
