Peach Bower in Suffolk Coastal

Ordered special chow mein and chicken chow mein takeaway. Inedible. Could not belive the lack of concern when I complained. Will never use this restaurant again and will advise others not to. Poor.

This was the third time we've used this restaurant for takeaway and the food was underwhelming, overpriced and not very nice. We had ordered the Mongolian Crispy Lamb starter, it was frankly awful - it was so dry and hard, not crispy but very crunchy. Our mains were not any better, flavourless and bland, very disappointing. Would rather drive to go elsewhere rather than use this restaurant, which is within walking distance.

We’ve been twice to the newly re-opened and enjoyed . Very friendly and food excellent .. it would be nice if a few more Diners would try it !

Ordered kung po king prawns salt and chilli ribs. Had zero chilli in the ribs and was next to no meat on the ribs. As you can tell the king po prawns were shocking. The sauce was just like water. and smelt of off fish. Call up to say I'm not happy with the order and was told if you don't like the food don't order from us.... this was my first time ordering and last. I am a trained chef and been in customer service for over 10 years. This place is vile. Just go to castle kitchen or golden panda much better then this place.

Been coming for over 30 years and advised others to go too. Tonight I had one of the worse takeaways ever. No sauce in dishes, chewy chicken and had to search for meat in chow mein. Have phoned to let them know and ask for some sort of refund but manager told the assistant to tell us he can’t help us. After being a customer for so long, we are so disappointed that he wasn’t more helpful.

Used to be a great Chinese, not now! Order was completely wrong and a dish missing ( only 4 x dishes in total) Returned food and they asked if I could just be happy and eat what they have given me?? When I agreed reluctantly. I then asked for the difference in money id paid to what I was given, let me speak to my boss... my boss said No?? gobsmacked and confused. I ended up having to go into the kitchen my self and demand my money back. The food was terrible also.

Oh dear Oh Dear. Like Boris - how the mighty have fallen. What happened to the complimentary prawn crackers when you take the trouble to spend over twenty quid?? The writing is on the wall - not necessarily in the right order!!

Rice was stodgy on top then burnt on the bottom and stuck to the foil tray. Noodles were dry and stuck in one big clump. Curry sauce was very salty. Prawn crackers tasted like I was having a cigarette. Chips dry. More went in the bin than we ate. Polite young member of staff was the only good thing.

Lovely meal delivered to me one windy rainy night as I’m currently housebound. Very helpful and great food. Thank you.

We’d tried before - passable. Tried again now. They’ve moved to cash only for under £20. Takeaway only. We’re local, gave them another chance. Never again.

Chicken chow mein ,special fried rice ,chicken balls, chicken satay , vegetable spring rolls. The only thing edible was the bag they put it in! I can't be bothered to describe in full how bad this meal was. I'm writing this because they seriously do not deserve your money. It was a 2 hour wait for a collection as they don't deliver to my area. Never again!!!!

I thought I’d try the peach bower again after 10 years or so.., What a big mistake,same filthy premises. Got my order wrong and quite frankly completely tasteless compared to rendlesham Chinese. DISGUSTING carpet and some ridiculous award from 22 years ago. AVOID 👎👎👎👎👎🤮🤮🤮🤮

I am of an age to have had hundreds of takeaways. This was the worst by a long way. £56 and nothing wax remotely edible. Ended up eating crisps.

We had an amazing take away with excellent service. It has been years since we had such a great Chinese meal.

Ordered two meals bbq rids dried up and uneatable. Singapore rice noddles tasteless and to much chilly lips still numb and I could not eat it. Sesame prawn toast, fried bread with something tasteless on it not sure what but not pawns as I know them. Left with a horrible greases taste in our months, never again. What a waste of money it all when in the bin!!!

Ordered two meals over phone lady on phone very polite and helpful etc meal was ready the time she gave lovely meal etc would recommend definitely meal size plenty 🙂😋

Had a lovely takeaway, best Chinese takeaway I’ve had in the area. However it felt like we were an inconvenience to the lady on the phone, she was rude and seemed like she didn’t want us to order. She was equally as rude when I collected the food. But once again can’t fault the food.

Visited for first time. Our host was very welcoming and friendly, the food was lovely and the service excellent.

Was told order would be ready for 8pm, arrived to collect at said time & had to wait an extra 40 minutes until food was ready! When I got home, I found my order was wrong... bean sprouts in chow mein when I specifically asked for it without as my husband is allergic. Food was ice cold so had to microwave!! I’ve never had any problems here before, this is the first time I’ve ever had any complaints about the food but this time it was such a disappointment!

Visited as a family for a Christmas Eve dinner. Food was fantastic and service was amazing. Despite being busy, the staff didn’t fault and made the evening really special. Highly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Have had very enjoyable meal here and also a take out. Service is fast and friendly; food authentic and portions large. I haven’t visited at weekend.

Lovely host, friendly and quiet atmosphere, speedy service and food which is simply incredible. Best Chinese I’ve ever eaten, will definitely be going back! Just a shame it’s 40 minutes away from my home or I’d be in every night!

My partner and I moved out of Wickham Market in April but still return regularly as this is the best chinese locally. The food is always hot and fresh and the service is great.

I am a regular customer of the Takeaway which has brilliant food, and service which is both friendly and helpful. Nice that they remember your name and your Partner’s name! Thoroughly recommend them.

Take away from here over the weekend ..... very good and will definitely be back ... can recommend the hot and sour soup , salt and pepper prawns, chicken in black bean and sweet and sour. All round good meal with friendly and efficient service.

This was a real surprise, to come accross such a wonderful Chinese restaurant / takeaway in the centre of our holiday village, Wickham Market.The food was ready when they said it would be, about 45 mins wait and what a wonderful meal it was too.Super quality Chinese and absolutely delicious. I don't think we've had better anywhere.Well done to the Peach Bower!

My partner and I had two fantastic takeaways from here over the weekend- one on Friday night and the other on Sunday night. The service was great. I had a very warm and friendly welcome when I collected the food on both nights. The food itself was exceptional.

After having a lovely meal at the peach bower last night with my fiends just to say it was gorgeous food and lovely atmosphere . Food was cooked perfect and so tasty and service was brilliant x

El melocotón bower restaurante chino y llevar ha estado en el mercado de wickham mucho tiempo - más de 20 años. No sé si aún bajo la misma propiedad de la familia? No he visitado por un largo tiempo como cambiamos de zona pero decidimos ir en un viaje reciente de nostalgia! Propietario/personal dio una calurosa bienvenida y seguimiento con un servicio atento y eficiente. El menú ofrece una buena selección de diferentes chino/platos del Lejano Oriente incluyendo opciones vegetarianas. La comida estaba caliente y sabía genial posiblemente un poco más salados? Buen ambiente en el restaurante a pesar de que no eran más concurrido en el momento de la visita.

Hemos estado utilizando este restaurante para llevar alrededor de 15 años y siempre preferimos a otros por el fabuloso pollo chow mein. Nos gustaría comprar extras para el congelador y re-climatizada muy bien.

Great food. Friendly service and reasonably priced. Have yet to eat in but will be doing so as it seems to have a lovely atmosphere.

Salt and pepper squid very chewy and overcooked. Spare ribs were terrible! The Singapore rice noodles however, were very good. Probably wouldn't use them again

Sin embargo, prometieron que estará listo en 15 minutos. Estaba listo y esperando. Buena calidad y precios todavía en 2014. Pequeño y bonito final para vacaciones.

For 5 years now, we have a takeaway about once a month from the peach bower and have always had excellent food with service with a smile.

Restaurante chino decente con una señora increíble que dirige el restaurante, comida para llevar y posiblemente todo el lugar. La comida está bien y los nuevos propietarios han tomado así que espero mejorar sucederá. Mejor china de una selección limitada de la zona. Merece una visita sólo por la señora encantadora a cargo.

Had a take away from here one evening and found the food good, perhaps a little too much veg in the dishes would liked a little more meat but tasty.

This is or favourite takeaway in this area. Service is friendly and fast and food is consistently good. Prices reasonable.

Been here a few times, had a meal here for a birthday party, looked after us very well, and had a few take aways, and they've never let us down, very good staff and not overly priced. Highly recommended.

Got my order wrong twice!! Had to return to the village to collect correct food. Then the sauces were sweet and sour when I ordered curry. On top of that, the prawns made me ill.

We have a lot of takeaways and it is all very nice and very reasonable and have eaten in the restaurant that is also very good and the young woman is pleasant ,funny and cheeky like me

Be a realist with a small town Chinese and it's all good.Tasty and cheap enough, if you can cook better, do so!

There is a style of "Chinese" food that the English have come to expect, and that is what is on offer here. Everything very sweet without much Chinese flavour. It was a Friday night and the brisk takeaway business stretched kitchen resources so that for us four sitting in the restaurant it took over two hours to get through our set meal. The food was good quality although a bit lacking in flavour. Some nice Chinese decor in the room (but an extremely grubby carpet). Very nice people and attentive service which itself would be a reason to return

I tend to use The New Peach Bower as a take out either on a Friday or a Saturday evening, the quality of the food for the price is good with decent service. All the usual suspects are on the menu, Crispy Duck with Pancakes and Plum sauce is especially good. There are now a selection of Thai dishes, I had the Thai Green curry recently and that was really flavoursome. The service is swift and Sue the manager always has a smile on her face. Well worth a visit.

Brought a takeaway and when I got this home was very unhappy with it as it was greasy and very tasteless and at nearly £30 quid for a meal for 2 was not impressed, won't go there again!!!!

We always use this place when we stay nearby. Food is lovely, staff are friendly and you don't get ripped off :)

We had a reunion at this restaurant after not visiting for several years, I was a little apprehensive as some of the reviews were not too good. No worries, the food was excellent and it was served in lickaty split time by friendly attentive staff, no problems giving this place a five star rating and we will definitely revisit.

We went for the Sunday 'Buffet'. We have eaten here in the evening so time ago, in the days of 'Freddy' and found the food excellent.We had booked and were expected, we were greeted by a cheerful and efficient hostess who soon got us drinks and we were at the buffet. There was some eighteen dishes and nicely varied.I was able to make up a really nice menu of dim sum, crispy duck and pancakes, and a main of chicken and noodles. I confess to also doubling up on main try the Tai curry noodle dish.No desert is offered, and we did not need one, The food was excellent, (the pancakes could have been a little 'steamier') the décor is now a little tired, but hey, we went for the food and not to see a show house. We shall go again for the Buffet for sure and recommend it.

If you can't be bothered to go to Woodbridge or Ipswich and do not fancy Indian from next door... I've used this place as a take away for over 10 years. Food is ok but that is about as far so it goes. The place is not overly clean. Staff friendly enough.

The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is ok but the food is pretty dreadful and the crispy duck is dry and especially horrid. It isn't especially clean and there are better Chinese restaurants locally

Freddy the owner and his staff are always very helpful and friendly on each and everytime ive been there. That over the years works out to be a lot! The food is always great and with the extra's you get offered also it makes for a great meal.

We went for the Sunday lunchtime buffet which was reasonable at £9.95 a head. There were eighteen dishes to choose from which were quite well prepared. However a drink added almost 50% to the bill. The premises look very tired and could do with cleaning or replacing the carpets and re-decorating from top to bottom.

We were staying down the road at the campsite and this place was recommended over the Indian. We were not disappointed, had loads of really nice food, veggie options and we would recommend it

The Sunday buffet is great value for money, be warned though. If you have mobility issues then getting around the serving table will be tight and the loo is not accessible. In saying that there are public loos on the other side of the square (in the public car park, take your RADAR key) and there is room in the restaurant when the serving tables are not out on Sunday lunchtime. If you don’t mind the hassle of leaving to relieve yourself then I strongly recommend The New Peach Bower. The owner, Freddy, has become a bit of a local legend. His service and the staff are great and extremely friendly. I am constantly astonished at how many names Freddy can remember. If you choose not to attend the buffet then I can recommend anything off the menu. Only ever had a good experience here. I think that the name has changed to the NEW Peach Bower,

We have been to this place quite a few times and all the time we have gone there we get the same Freddie welcome and the rest of the staff are always friendly. The mixed starters are to die for. and the rest of the food is good too.

having just moved to the next village we decided to try Peach Bower and we were not disappointed. Freddie was very friendly and helpful and the food was excellent.

Booked a table for a Saturday night out just the 2 of us, always looked nice outside so thought we would give it a try, reviews were so so, arrived at 7.30 opened the door to be welcomed with quite a lot of noise, the entrance hall was very dirty, don't think they had hoovered the carpets for sometime, our table was not quite ready so was asked to sit at a table that had newspapers on, they hadn't changed this table cloth for sometime it was covered in food stains.We were then showed to our table that we booked. Shoved in the corner, food all over the floor from the previous customers, and the table next to us had serval unhappy children in high chairs, it just seemed like a Chinese cafe and not somewhere to go on a Saturday evening, so unfortunately we left before even looking at the menu,

Since moving in to the area, we've visited here many times. The owner, Freddie, creates a great atmosphere & we've always received top class service from both of the ladies there. We love the mixed sharing starter in particular, & enjoy many of the main dishes too. The toffee apples should not be missed!You can always be assured of a warm welcome, & parking is plentiful & free.

Nice setting, friendly welcome but let down by the shabby interior and too much deep fried and tasteless food.

After a disastrous accommodation fiasco in Pettistree, we went to Wickham Market for some diner and decided to try this Chinese restaurant.What a great end of the day: great fresh food and very friendly staff in this place. Definitely recommended for a nice chinese diner with Friends or family. We will go back again if we are again in this area...
