The best restaurants serving Default food in North East Derbyshire East Midlands

It's small and cosy. Very local orientated. It's not what it was, High days and holidays if theyre lucky, they've left the building.....

Friendly, Cosey, the food is beer only and 2 drinks under £10. dont accept dogs tho.

After enjoying a lovely walk, we stopped at this pub/restaurant for lunch. We had not booked and had to sit outside as we had the dog with us, which we expected. However, we were clearly not the clientele preferred at this establishment. We were informed there could be a wait for the food, but we were prepared to wait. Actually, we didn’t have to wait very long at all and we joked that we were served quickly so we would leave quickly. When I went inside to pay the bill, the person I assume was the proprietor, made comment that ‘they’ thought they were going to have to ‘chase us across the car park’. I presume this because it was assumed we would leave without paying. How rude to assume such a thing. They knew nothing about us. I was so shocked and so insulted he had actually verbalised his thoughts I made a joke about being unable to run. We had been judged on our appearance. Just because we were not dressed like the other customers, don’t assume we are not just as worthy or affluent. I didn’t leave a tip but if I had, it would be ‘Don’t judge a book by its cover’. There are other restaurants in the local area far more amenable, accommodating and less judgemental. Otherwise, the food was reasonable.

Ordered from here on recommendation whilst staying in the area for a few days, Got to say it was one of the nicest Indian's I have ever tasted, polite and speedy delivery and easy app to use . Would 100% recommend.

We got a takeaway from here on Friday night with all the family, we had a mixture of cod, chicken and mushroom pie, chicken nuggets, sausage and chips and all of course a chip shop curry sauce! The service was good but it gets very busy very fast. After you have ordered you get a fob that buzzes once your food is ready. It is a very good idea as you can wait outside so it doesn’t get too crowded. The food was 10/10 and well priced. Highly recommend if you are wanting a chippy tea!🍟

Great poached eggs on toast really fresh delicious eggs My husband had the little tickler breakfast really enjoyed. This included x2 hash browns, toast, x2 saugages, mushrooms, baked beans, eggs and hit tomato sauce.

Wow the food was really lovely delivered bang in time. I’d say this is the best Chinese takeaway in the area, the portions are very generous.

Visited on Valentines night (with my amazingly beautiful wife, …. and both teenage boys with girlfriends) We had an amazing night, amazing food, so relaxing and made some special memories! Thank you so much, see you all soon (LOVE THIS PLACE SO MUCH)

Been a handful of times in the last year , never disappoints , restaurant is very nice and clean , staff are friendly and welcoming, the food has always been nice . Certainly a restaurant I highly recommend.

If your idea of 'home cooked' is frozen food from Aldi or Iceland then this likely somewhere you'll enjoy. Not for me.

Very poor lunch Yorkshire puddings burnt black couldn’t cut them, pork cut so thin it had no taste we had to ask for apple sauce when it came there wasn’t a T spoon each.and expensive for what we received

Had a lovely evening at the White Bear. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing, but friendly and welcoming. The service was good and the food was excellent from start to finish. Generally nothing was too much trouble. We didn't really know what to expect as we couldn't find a website for the venue (other than Facebook, which we were unable to access). But it exceeded our expectations and we will definitely return.

The food was all home cooked and delicious and the service very friendly. Excellent value for money.
