I HAVE GIVEN THIS PLACE 5 STAR REVIEWS ON HERE IN THE PAST FEW YEARS BUT NOT ANY MORE! I order a meal for delivery last week it was my partners birthday and we spent almost £30 on a meal for both of us. It had been a long time since we had a delivery as we didn't bother during the lockdowns as carry out places were so busy. We ordered the following:- SPECIAL CURRY/FRIED RICE CHICKEN & MUSHROOM/FRIED RICE SPARE RIBS IN PEKING SAUCE SWEET & SOUR CHICKEN It was midweek but the order still took 40 mins it used to be 15. Food was hot so good there. The "special" curry was all curry sauce and sparse....really sparse...ingredients....a total rip off. The sweet and sour chicken's batter was soggy they really don't know how to make batter. The peking spare ribs were the worst thing I have ever had the misfortune to buy from any chinese resturant in my 45 years of ordering from them. It was just BONES nothing but BONES there was no meat on them at all but even worse was the sauce!!! Anyone who has ever bought this dish will know that what you pay extra for is the luxurious, delicious, peking sauce, which is a rich thick sauce which tastes absolutely DELICIOUS but this was just sour WATER it was absolutely DISGUSTING and was the exact same sauce as the disgusting sweet and sour sauce which was just SOUR SOUR SOUR there was no sweetness to it, no tomato, in it no pineapple in it, just pure GARBAGE....the whole meal was a disaster. Three days later we tried again at the silver star Chinese in Dumbarton East and oh my god what a difference the special curry was full of ingredients and the peking ribs were EXACTLY what they should be that luxurious delicious sauce we all know and love. The ribs themselves were thick with eating and they even made it look visibly good by garnishing it with red and green peppers, onions, etc. Never ever again will I go to "Tastes good" (hah!!!!) not!!!! STAY WELL AWAY FOLKS THE HONEYMOON IS WELL AND TRULY OVER!

We stumbled across Chimes while on holiday from Ireland and we were not disappointed! The food was delicious, especially the chow mein!! The restaurant was really busy for a Tuesday evening and the takeaway seemed just as busy. The staff were extremely attentive and clearly have a good rapport with the local people. The food was also very reasonably priced! We will definitely be back on our next visit! Thérèse & Andy

As we had enjoyed a meal at the Jasmine restaurant last year, we made a return visit. What a disappointment! The barbecue spare ribs were tasteless, the fillet steak with mandarin sauce was fatty and the chicken and pineapple looked and was unappetising. Only the waitress was charming.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this amazing Chinese restaurant, and I can confidently say it's some of the best food I’ve ever tasted. Every dish was bursting with authentic flavor and cooked to perfection — from the perfectly crisp spring rolls to the rich, savory sauces and tender meats, everything was a delight. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. On top of that, the prices were very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. I’ll definitely be coming back — highly recommended!

Visited the new restaurant opened at the Fort. Unfortunately, we weren't impressed by the food at all and a slightly undercooked chicken pakora was offputting - this was shown to the staff member who just smiled, took plate away and carried on. We had hoped for a better experience but it was dissapointing.

Tried all of the Chinese takeaways in Clydebank and this has to be the most economical very large portions very tasty, with a choice of free extras after £18 spend.. all meals with prawn crackers.

I have been using Red Cap for years and have now moved away from the town but the food is so good that I go back to Dumbarton just for my Chinese once a month. A fabulous wee place!

Thought we’d try this place as heard there were new owners. Salt & chilli chips were soggy (with not much salt & chilli to them), beef was very tough, chicken balls doughy and the gravy too salty. Rated 2 stars instead of 1 as the one plus was the best prawn crackers I’ve had in the area - probably the only thing I’d return for.
