Taste Good in West Dunbartonshire

I HAVE GIVEN THIS PLACE 5 STAR REVIEWS ON HERE IN THE PAST FEW YEARS BUT NOT ANY MORE! I order a meal for delivery last week it was my partners birthday and we spent almost £30 on a meal for both of us. It had been a long time since we had a delivery as we didn't bother during the lockdowns as carry out places were so busy. We ordered the following:- SPECIAL CURRY/FRIED RICE CHICKEN & MUSHROOM/FRIED RICE SPARE RIBS IN PEKING SAUCE SWEET & SOUR CHICKEN It was midweek but the order still took 40 mins it used to be 15. Food was hot so good there. The "special" curry was all curry sauce and sparse....really sparse...ingredients....a total rip off. The sweet and sour chicken's batter was soggy they really don't know how to make batter. The peking spare ribs were the worst thing I have ever had the misfortune to buy from any chinese resturant in my 45 years of ordering from them. It was just BONES nothing but BONES there was no meat on them at all but even worse was the sauce!!! Anyone who has ever bought this dish will know that what you pay extra for is the luxurious, delicious, peking sauce, which is a rich thick sauce which tastes absolutely DELICIOUS but this was just sour WATER it was absolutely DISGUSTING and was the exact same sauce as the disgusting sweet and sour sauce which was just SOUR SOUR SOUR there was no sweetness to it, no tomato, in it no pineapple in it, just pure GARBAGE....the whole meal was a disaster. Three days later we tried again at the silver star Chinese in Dumbarton East and oh my god what a difference the special curry was full of ingredients and the peking ribs were EXACTLY what they should be that luxurious delicious sauce we all know and love. The ribs themselves were thick with eating and they even made it look visibly good by garnishing it with red and green peppers, onions, etc. Never ever again will I go to "Tastes good" (hah!!!!) not!!!! STAY WELL AWAY FOLKS THE HONEYMOON IS WELL AND TRULY OVER!

Absolutely love this chinese sometimes chips are a hit or a miss and satay sauce used to be much nicer, too watery and spicy now. Ive tried most things on the menu

OK, I can't tell you about the atmosphere because I ordered by telephone. The order was for 1 Chicken Peking Style (onion, peppers, pineapple and fruity mandarin sauce), 1 Special Mixed Meat Hot Toss Style (king prawns, chicken breast, beef, bean sprouts, baby corn, bamboo shoots, mushroom, onions in a mandarin, garlic wine and chilli oil sauce. The menu says "contains nuts" but I didn't notice any) and 2 portions of fried rice. We also got a complimentary bag of prawn crackers with this. All the meat was fully cooked but tender rather than tough, and the vegetables were nicely crunchy. The prawn crackers were crisp, fully cooked and not even slightly oily too. I asked for a delivery time, was told "40 minutes" but the delivery arrived in more like 20. We will order again.

My friend asked me to order food for her, this was what she found in her chicken curry. It was undercooked and completely inedible! Couldn’t physically eat it and had to be binned. Waste of money and neither of us will be ordering again!

Chicken balls - horrible tasting chicken Sweet and sour sauce - vinegary Chicken curry - undercooked, very tough Absolutely rotten. Won’t be back

I am a huge fan of this place the food is excellent but the chips are brick hard and about a month ago I got 2 orders in a row where the chips were soft and they tasted DELICIOUS!!!! When they are hard they are tasteless so please cook your chips to be soft and thats it you are 1000% amazing lol

We had been out all day and Heading home, we Decided just to Purchase a Meal instead of Cooking when we got Home, Saw this Place open and Decided to try it out... We were not Disappointed, Soup, Spare Ribs and Combination Curries with fried Rice.. All Top Notch, Yes would recommend..

Delicious fresh food made to order. Even made me something that wasn't on the menu and it didn't disappoint. I visit this takeaway once or twice a week.

Chose this takeaway after reading some of the reviews and so glad I did. They have just repainted the interior so it looks a lot smarter and cleaner than most takeaways. I ordered 3 different dishes & all 3 were fantastic. Mine, a vegetable satay was so tasty, the best I have had. My wife and best friend raved about their's too - a chicken curry & sweet and sour king prawn Hong Kong style.

Use it regularly very fast delivery service and the food is always great never disappointed, staff are always so polite to deal with .

Taste Good does the best satay you can find, I have been ordering it for years. I have never tried a similar satay anywhere else. My favourite. Highly recommend

I frequently order takeaway from here and i feel its the one reliable chinesse in our area. While others can be a bit hit or miss, i feel that the taste good always provides top quality chinese food, at a reasonable price!

Lovely food and really friendly staff from the delivery drivers to the girls taking the orders. Always have a nice chat with the owner, lovely lady. Would recommend the Salt and Pepper ribs, Chicken Satay Skewers and the lemon chicken.

We can always rely on the Taste Good for delicious fresh Chinese and Thai food. The owner is always chatty and friendly too.

ordered a carryout and it tastes anything but good it is a poor excuse for a chinese have tried different meals and been disappointed apart from their satay sauce

We go here all the time for a Chinese! Best in local area by far unless heading to Helensburgh. Would highly recommend!always exceptional service and the food really is fast- just how it should be! We'll be back :).

Regular weekly takeaway, tried various other local Chinese takeaways but always come back to Taste Good. Great food, great service, extensive menu and reasonably priced.

Whether we call in to collect or have a delivery, we keep going back as the food, delivery, and friendly service we get, never dissapoints us.

Started going here and now I would not go anywhere else the food is lovely very fresh not greasy and it is always well cooked. The owners are very friendly could not fault it.

Average and typical of what you get out of a Chinese but its prices are reasonable to good. Service is always quick and the few times we have had a delivery we have never waited too long.

This may only be a take away for Chinese food but the quality and portions are very good would recommend that if you've not already tried this take away give it ago you won't be disappointed the TG sauce dishes are good as is the chicken curry

Had a sweet and sour with chips last week, really enjoyed, the sauce was very tasty and the chicken balls were cooked well. The portion is very generous and could feed 2/3
