Ordered a chicken chow mein delivery, the meal was tasty enough but let down by having hardly any chicken!

Got s+p chips for the kids not nice at all and the Singapore chow mein was the worst I've ever had . The satay was ok but won't be back not nice at all

Just ordered food tonight and I'm really angry and frustrated as to how I was spoken toNot once but twice the woman shouting down telephone in Chinese put the phone down on me when she did speak in English she spoke over me and answered the question for me then proceeded to slam the phone downWas also charged £3.80 for delivery from high to castlegreen St which is ludicrousJust lost a very loyal customer due to horrible customer service the chicken curry was was nice however one bag of dried up chips were put in binNot a great experience and I'll take my business elsewhere

The food here is really nice and the staff are very friendly and polite , £7.95 for a lunch and well worth it.

Always wanted to try their curry sauce so ordered chips curry n onions quick service stopped at river to enjoy but after eating some noticeably no onions. Took it back but this time the girl said do you want to pay for it again..wtf NO Other woman who served me came out n wanted extra 30p to make it with onions man behind other counter stood glaring at me .( who was served the wrong meal and had to go back and start again ) Still no apology. Very BAD customer service even had the cheek to forget my change which I got with an effort..uhhhhh Level this alone as its smiles all the way but bad service

Best Chinese in the shire. 😊 as a family we have been customers for nearly 30 years, love family meals in restaurant and home deliveries other times.

We normally order our Chinese meals elsewhere, but due to coronavirus our normal takeaway is shut.We placed our order by phone and arranged home delivery. At the time we were told that the delivery would take about an hour. In actual fact, it took just over one and a half hours.... This is the only reason the review is 4 stars instead of 5, as the food was very nice. Portions were slightly smaller than our usual takeaway, but that’s no bad thing as we often have leftovers.We would definitely order from here again.

Although it was quiet, the service and quality of food was superb. Really nice welcome and goodbye. I was on business so my never visit again but will always remember the quality of the food and service. Thanks

We had a party of five people for an evening meal. Everyone was very pleased with the dishes they chose, the food was lovely and the service great. The prices are reasonable too.

Went to this restaurant in the last few weeks.It’s actually our prefer local Dumbarton Chinese restaurant, even tho I’ve seen poor reviews about this place.I’ve been a few times and like it!!!The half duck sharing starter could do four people even tho there was only three of us.We all had a main and side each, bottle of red, Irish coffees, beers and a gin, £100.I think that’s really fair priced.The service staff are very polite.I will return again before end of the year.Thanks restaurant and see you soon!

very poor went in for my granddaughters birthday the food was terrible the starters were dripping with oil rice paper chicken main meals were more like snacks the helpings were so small my wife got chicken and cashew nuts it was mostly onions there was 3 bits of chicken and 6 cashew nuts my daughter got beef in oyster sauce it was totally tasteless i had sweet and sour delight it was totally over cooked and solid my granddaughter and her friend waited over an hour for there main meal this cost us 100 pounds could have got better from a freezer shop

My friends and I had dinner here a couple of nights ago. Service was professional and friendly, we felt welcomed. The menu choice is fantastic and the food is really tasty. We recommend the Koon Po Chicken and Chicken Curry. Their salt and peppers chips are the best I have had at any restaurant!The prices are really reasonable, the restaurant decor is really nice and homely, very clean and cosy. We are looking forward to our next visit!

Great food but far too small portions for the money! Not for me but would suit someone who doesn't mind paying over the odds!

Find the food ok and we mostly use this restaurant for convenience. However, 9 times out of 10 they get a part of your delivery/collection wrong or something is missing. Phone them to let them know and there is never an apology or offer of any refund. Won’t be using them again. Disappointed and fed up with their rubbish service!

Called to check on delivery after 1 hour 15 minutes to be told would be another hour this was not even a large order only 2 main meals. Won’t be back.

My favourite local Chinese. Excellent food of very high quality and decent value for money. We did find that a takeaway is nowhere near sit-in standard so tend to avoid it for that but very good for a quiet family meal.

Thank god for Omeprazole reheated ribs that had sadly turned into charred remains a curry gravy i could plaster a wall with fries that had been cooked so long the potatoes had disintegrated and just left a husk chicken balls i could use at a cricket match just bad all round unfortunately

Having managed to "offload" our children for the night, I booked a table for two at this restaurant in Dumbarton. The reception we were given was warm and cheerful. Having placed our dinner order we were quickly served our drinks followed by our starters which were delicious.

Disgusting, got a take away and the whole thing went in the bin. Everything looked reheated and was solid.

We ordered food and it came in a timely manner. It was well presented and easy on the eye for presentation. There is a limited selection of alcohol that may not suit all needs (No Blue WKD). Overall it was a good curry and the lemon chicken was also very good.

Went to the Jasmine last Saturday. It was a last minute idea. We phoned at 5pm for a table for 7.15pm and yep we got one. Three of us went.

We were in the area prior to a family event in Balmaha & had never tried this or any other restaurant, what a lovely experience, friendly staff great seating area & immaculate toilets, the menu was extensive and our chosen dish was excellent, I do hope that the “new” Royals visit Dumbarton soon as the place has much to offer but to credit the council (I’m not a fan of any Scottish Council) they seem to be trying hard.

Food is amazing with good portion sizes. Helpful and attentive staff. Service was quick and wasn't waiting long between courses. One of my favourites restaurant in Dumbarton.

Last night ten of us attended the Jasmine for a meal before attending a charity event across the road. Initial attention was great and orders were duly taken. Starters arrived after a short wait which was fine as it allowed us time to chat and have a few refreshments however, the wait for main courses was ridiculous considering we stressed we had a gig on across the road at a charity event. Most of the mains were ok however the curry was salty which made it unenjoyable. Overall a nice restaurant but more attention needs to be paid to timings.

Found Jasmine to be one of the better Chinese’s in Dumbarton. Nice food and decent portions, staff very friendly as well

Dined here while staying local. Not busy but good friendly service and really tasty food, and reasonably value. Would certainly go again if in the area

Family of nine not having previously booked, were made to feel very welcome by the restaurant. The service was excellent and waitress very friendly and helpful. I could not believe how quickly our order was taken and served piping hot within a very short period of time. We had vegetarians to cater for and also children who are quite hard to please, we managed to find something for everybody. The food was faultless and we cannot wait to go back. We are visiting Dumbarton again in October and will certainly be placing The Jasmine on our to do list. Excellent value for money

We are regular visitors to the jasmine. The food is excellent and the service is fantastic. I can honestly say this is the best by far Chinese within the Dumbarton, Alexandria and helensburgh area!

This is my local Chinese restaurant and has been my haunt for many years. The food and service is consistently good. My favourites are the Spare Ribs and Chicken Satay. Prices are quite steep, but I don't mind paying if the grub merits it.

my wife and I had a very good lunch on the lunch time menu,it was a good price and very good value I will return.

I phoned to book a table as i have found in the past that due to popularity we couldnt get in on a Friday night. The food was excellent as were the staff couldn't have been better on a very cold night.

After phoning a delivery & being advised how busy they were I decided to collect my order which I was told would be 30 mins, was having a night with friends & family so this was a bit inconvenient however it was the better option, once home I realised that an item from my order was missing, phoned Chinese back up only to be told they couldn't provide this item to me for a while which when u have already started opening ur order is no good, had to end up going back in to collect it, 2 trips down to Chinese & or even an offer of a refund or anything for my inconvenience, shocking customer service & poor food to be honest!!

Visited the Jasmine on a trip to Dumbarton Staff were very polite and friendly Food was excellent I had mussels for my started they were so french We will certainly be back

Ordered home delivery for steaks plus side orders not cheap,waited nearly 2hrs for,when phoned up several times was told by manager £5 would be refunded to me an would get someone to drop off,1 week later I'm still waiting,obviously don't care about returning customers or customer service,avoid if u cant wait that long!!!!!!?

Haven't been here for a while and was disappointed by how tired the restaurant was looking. However. The food and service more than made up for it. Really fresh food well cooked. And waiting staff that were superbly pleasant topped off a lovely meal.

This is the 2nd time I have been to this restaurant over the last couple of weeks and if I had written this review after the 1st visit it might have been better. 1st visit :- Starter- salt & pepper chicken bits which were lovely really fresh & hot and really tasty. Main course :- Chicken satay with fried rice-- 2 small skewers of satay - which were really enjoyable.Today:- was a bit different.... again my starter was the salt & pepper chicken but it was no where near as good.. it tasted as if it had been pre-cooked & re-heated, the chicken was chewy & stringy... certainly no where as good as the previous visit. My main this time was sweet & sour chicken with fried rice... the chicken balls were fine but the s/sour sauce was pretty bad.. a bit watery & vinegary tasting. So quite disappointing.The restaurant itself is nice if a bit "bland". From the outside you would never guess it was a Chinese restaurant.. .. it could have be anything from an office to a hairdressers, really non descript .Inside it is much the same but I must say it is very clean, with nice staff/ good service and pretty decent toilets. At about £18 total for a 2 course lunch its not expensive but thethe food can be hit or miss and a bit a bit disappointing.

Always love to visit this restaurant as the staff are lovely. Polite and available but not overly attentive. The food is delicious and the lunch time menu especially is fantastic value for money. My only suggestion would be kids menu

Decided to visit this restaurant as we were close by and hadn't been for many years. They were able to accommodate us without a booking, even though it was Friday night. The restaurant itself is small and cosy but had a nice atmosphere. The clientele was mixed and the food was lovely. I was pleasantly surprised and would happily visit again.

Delivery took more than 2 hours and everytime you phoned all they could say was be with you in 10 mins! Ordered a chicken noodle soup which was revolting was like noodles and chicken put in dirty water! Phoned back to complain to be told they will credit us with the money even though they had already owed us credit which they could not find! Wouldn't be phoning here again there are better places!

Not only did they not include sauce, but 2 dishes of small portions as opposed to what you get when you sit in, £20 (as I ordered no rice), one side order. Never Agian!!!!

The Jasmine is my favourite chinese restaurant to go to. I have never been disappointed and they do a great business lunch for a reasonable price - although I do think the portion sizes for the lunch deals have gotten slightly smaller!

The Jasmine has been there for years, and I actually thought it had closed down until I saw someone coming out of it. It looks derelict from the outside. I had a business lunch. The Jasmine seems to be attracting good reviews on tripadvisor; for me, although there's nothing particularly wrong with it, there's nothing especially good about it either. Service is fine, the prices are reasonable, the food is average, and the décor needed to be freshened up about 15 years ago.

Excellent food. Been most Thursdays for years. Staff now reserve us a table. Also use the takeaway and delivery service.

Excellent service. Food hot and each meal really tasty. Good size helping. Restaurant a little tired and table cover had stain on it.

Went here for Mothers Day 12 people starters were a bit slow but when they came they were very good and the girl server was apologetic for the wait mains came quicker and were also very tasty everyone was happy with there meals would recommend the salt and pepper squid for starters chicken sczewan for main

Went here on payday with gang from work. Nice restaurant, clean and excellent service. Food was delicious and very reasonably priced. Only thing was the restaurant itself was quite cold. Definitely b back

Havnt been for a while as they had new staff and the quality of the food was awful but it's back to good food again. Went with friends on Friday night and the food was really good. 4 people 2 courses + coffee and drinks £73 great value

Decided at short notice to have a bite to eat at the Jasmine. It was very quiet but it was early on a Tuesday night. However this did not detract from the fact that the meal itself was first class and the staff could not be any more helpful.

As a regular "dine in"customer we thought we would give the takeaway service a try.Called for a takeaway,arrived with an item missing. Called back to be told we didn't order the said item but they agreed to deliver it without delivery charge. Item arrives 15 minutes later and my daughter gets charged delivery.When i called the restaurant, I'm advised "can we owe you it"..... seriously!I asked to speak to the manager and was advised "he's busy"With plenty of other Chinese eateries in the area, this is one restaurant we won't be back to.

I ordered a delivery from another local restaurant called the Delhi Darbar and fortunately they had lost my order upon waiting 2 hours!! I phoned jasmine for a meal around about £20 and they arrived in bang on 15 minutes! My meal was very hot, fresh and to a 'standard'. Best Chinese in town!

Decided to take my mum and 8yr old son out for lunch... we chose here as we never have had any complaints but on this day however was ridiculous entering the restaurant tables were all empty and clean apart from 3...2 getting used and the other customers were just leaving as we waited to be seated the waitress showed us to the table the people had just left confused i assumed...no she asked us to sit at the table full of spilled curry sauce and spillage from drinks...not one to complain as i work in a busy hotel and understand certain situations but its not like it was busy...anyway ordered food and drinks chicken noodle for my son which tasted like warm water with bits if chicken no flavour... Chicken curry was cold and sauce was congealed chicken pieces were really pink in colour so put off straight away ordered ice cream for son so decided would have another drink... About 2pm staff from kitchen come out with jackets on and bags ready to leave so we are gtn hurried out when asked for toilet got told sorry no working also 1 man starts stripping off his clothes and shoes laughing saying sorry have another appointment no time to change in car ridiculous... Didnt bother waiting til we left so we canceled our desert and went to pay... HahaBest bit the bill drink1 tia-maira + can of coke £4.00Can of coke £1Can of diet coke £1Drink order2.., tia-maira on its own £2.50Drink order3... Tia-maira Can of coke £5.00??? Asked why we are getting charged different prices to be told... Sorry not understand ... Only good thing about this day was waitress was really friendly back staff was pulling the strings...disappointed as my mum sister and auntie used the restaurant quite regularly.... Wont be back

Just back from Jasmines and its the first time im ever been disappointed with the food. My seaweed starter was greasy and my main course average. The ribs were undercooked and chewy. Service as always was fab although my vodka n irn bru was missing the vodka...a chat with bar staff rectified this. Really disappointed

We visit here regularly and have never been disappointed with the food it's delicious. The only downside is there is too kids menu at lunch time I'm not sure about evenings. We just asked if we could have a half portion for our toddler and they were very obliging. We will definately visit again

We normally sit in but the weather was really bad so we phoned in our order to be picked at 6.30. Our meals were ready piping hot when we got back onboard. Super service great food and reasonable cost.

We use the jasmine a lot, both for take away and delivery. We have just had our annual boxing night family dinner there and it was excellent. Always an extremely warm welcome, food is of fantastic quality and it's all together a great dining experience.

Two courses £6.50 can't really grumble at that! I had salt & pepper chicken to start which was a big greasy for me but my main (chicken and black bean sauce) was very tasty! Quick service, quick food & good value.

My husband & I ate here on Trip Advisor recommendation. You enter through a door on the left of the takeaway bar. Lovely attentive staff. And the food is lovely and reasonably priced. We liked the food so much we had a takeaway later in the week.

Ok I adore this place! It's amazing, very tasty, grey value for money and the produce is fresh and well cooked. Deliveries are awesome but one thing id say is that sitting in can be a pain. It takes a while to be served and then they constantly ask if the food is ok before you've really had any. Ask a lot if your finished yet. Yeah, a pain BUT I'd moan If they didn't come over at all so I had to give this full marks because it's just soooo good. The best around and iv tried all the Chinese restaurants. One last tiny thing, I ordered today and the chicken and cashew is usually in a large rectangular tub and tonight it came in a small square tub, priced the same, perhaps an oversight? Or maybe they cut down portions. Even so, if that one thing was rectified I'd have no problem ordering and recommending to others <3

After trying just about all the Chinese takeaway's and restaurants between Alexandria and Dumbarton,The Jasmine is without a doubt the best. You do wait a bit longer than most places when you sit in for a meal, but its well worth the wait. Highly recommend....And the takeaway's just as good :)

Booked a table the day before for 4 people which included my 91 year old grandmother. When we arrived we were shown to a table staight away but that is where the good points ended. The service was terrible. We got the drinks and oder taken but the starter took an incredibly long time to come and the Main meal seemed to never be coming. We enquired a few times about the meal but nothing. However about 20-30 meals were sent out as deliveries during this time. We had arrive at 6pm and were still sitting at 7.30 without a meal. My gran also had no starter so was starving. We ended up having to leave as did about 3 other tables due to the same problem. We ended up eating in McDonalds. Will never be back here again.

I had a meal here recently and it was fairly average, nothing special. Lacked some distinct flavours for most of the meals, a bit bland you might say. Especially my favourite Kungpo Chicken.

As mentioned above, probably the best Chinese in dumbarton. I regularly use this as for take away as they consistently provide great quality food and service is very quick. Recently dined in at it was equally as good. Restaurant was a little quiet and could do with a bit of life. Still worth a visit.

This a by far and away the best chinese in Dumbarton, a bit pricier than the rest but you get what you pay for, been using this resturant and the take away for years and never had a bad experience, obviously at weekends you have to wait a while for a home delivery but it's worth it.

Large family party of over 20 including kids staff were great with adults and kids food was delicious service was fab would highly recommend

Had a meal here with my kids and family, eight of us in total. They accommodated us well in the middle of the restaurant with two tables put together . Good service and the menu was certainly enticing, lots to choose from and a really good vegetarian section for my son. I was disappointed in the size though, we ordered several of the chef special dishes, which sounded amazing, but didn't live up to the hype of the menu. Small portions and the squid was very chewy and rather tasteless, even with the sauce. We had deserts but they were mainly shop bought ice creams that were over priced and not that great.Don't get me wrong, a good Chinese meal, but there is certainly better in the locality. I do have to add that it's the best pint of lager I have had in a while, so pumps must be great!

We were in Dumbarton to go to a concert and decided to eat before listening to the music. I knew this restaurant was on the High Street and expected an average sort of meal.I was surprised how good it was, the first impression was of a restaurant that was really fresh and clean looking and as soon as we went in someone came to show us to a table. The attention from the staff continued throughout our time there.We are both vegetarian and there was a good selection to choose from and the service and food were both excellent. The waiter had a friendly manner without being too familiar, it is a hard balance to strike but all the staff got it right.The food was really good. We both enjoyed it a lot and we plan a return visit. I'd recommend it but suggest it might be a good idea to book as it was starting to get busy when we left. Even if it is bury the tables are not too close together so a meal will still be a pleasant experience.

Took some friends here and they have raved about it ever since. They have a great range of food and it is well cooked and served quickly. The staff are really friendly and the prices are very reasonable. I have also had takeaways and the food is of a great quality and reasonably priced

Well tasty! Very nice settings friendly staff good selection. Usually we are predictable in our selection by ordering curry, never let down!

After looking all over Dumbarton for somewhere for evening meal we stumbled on Jasmine Chinese we could not fault the meal and the staff were very attentive and to top it all it wasn't that expensive so all in all I would recommend this place to anyone. We pop into the Jasmine pretty much every time we're down in the city. It is always really busy more so with takeaway but that just proves how good it is. I love the Crispy Shredded Chilly Beef & my hubby has tried loads of dishes & they have all been really tasty. It's not expensive either. Can't wait for my next trip to the city.

Popped in for business lunch. Good value at 6.50 for two courses' staff member service was friendly and attentive. Food was quite tasty but nothing outstanding' ribsand chicken starter had been deep fried so not too healthy, mains were nice enough but ccouldn't find much beef in the crispy beef-nearly all batter' wouldn't go out way to return but wouldn't refuse to go either. Pretty average

My mum and I decided to go for a "business lunch" on my day off instead of the regulation coffee! Not exactly the nicest restaurant, but was still pleasant.THE STAFF- The staff are very friendly and attentive, the service was quick.THE FOOD- The food was very nice, and easily the nicest fried rice I've had (in Scotland) Would come back again, anytime.

I cannot compliment the food enough, has to be the best chinese in the area, including Alexandria & Balloch. That good my family come through from Cumbernauld for a chinese!!! We have been going here for meals for the past 8 years, does the best Satay ever!!!!
