Great wee carry out food always fresh and nice

Food was reasonably priced, and portions were enough for two meals.

We had a pork and a chicken dish and ended up sticking half of each in the freezer due to the size of the portions. Taste, quality, and price were excellent.

Staff are absolutely vile and think it’s acceptable to shout and swear at and slander people. Police will be visiting

What's happening here?.the food has changed and it is not good! I've spent thousands at this place over the years but it's time to find another Chinese. You have disappointed me for the last time.

Very dissapointed. Usually is fantastic but the chicken used in our meal tonight was obviously bought in processed ir frozen chicken. Tasteless , weird texture , just unenjoyable. Hopefully theyll sort it out

Absolutely shocking , 1 hour delayed cold soggy chips cold chicken slices cold pork slices , don’t even waste your money currently still waiting on a driver to bring me the money back , place as went totally down hill .

Absolutely brilliant service. Large food order placed at 5.30 food arrived 6pm. It was absolutely delicious. Massive portions nothing wasted. Will definitely use again next time we come to Scotland 👍👍

Food was different from other takeaway £1.80 for tiny tub off curry sauce very stingy. I'll stick to my usual Chinese

ordered satay asked for no mushrooms and off the skewer and a chicken curry the curry sauce was awful and the satay arrived in a dish just the meat they forgot to put sauce on it phoned up and they sent the sauce out in a tiny little polystyrene tube the satay sauce was bloody awful really disgusting l I will never order from there again the food went straight in the bin

Just polished a nice hot meal delivered from Victorious Inn. Chow mien was ace as were the onion rings chicken balls and mini veg rolls

Good to see a takeaway using real chicken instead of that cheap rubber stuff a lot of them use nowadays. Plus they give you 3vouchers for every 20 pound you spend, save them up for free meal.

Real Cantonese people cooking food with loads of ingredients, the right taste and no cutting of corners. Big containers, sensible prices, yummy.

We've used this place for years, and the last couple of orders I was kinda underwhelmed as the food had always been great. We opted for the breast of chicken curry last night, and the usual friendly guy on the phone offered it whole, or chopped up for us. Now last time we asked for chopped, the chicken didn't seem like a breast that was chopped up, more like the cheap cubed stuff you can buy in bulk that is rubbery. This time though, all good, much better. The sauce was spicier again like it used to be, and we had a chunk of onions in there too. Once again, like in the past it was far too much for one person, so this with our fried rice served 2 people. Brilliant! Give them another go, we ordered more than just the curry as there were a group of us eating, and the food was delivered quickly,and was really hot and fresh. Faith restored!

This has to be the best takeaway in my local area. Food is always delivered piping hot and even during busy times the longest we have had to wait is half an hour. Always tastes very fresh and portions are huge. Definitely worth a visit!

Bit pricey at £7:20 for sweet & sour chicken with fried rice. Having said that the rice was lovely and tasty sauce, 10 chicken balls.

Ordered a very mild chicken curry and couldnt eat it was so much pepper in it went in the bin

What to say, a lot can change in a few months. Supposedly the original owners leased it out, what a mistake. Thankfully rectified and back to the way it should be. Food is back on par. Service, great. And my love and loyalty returned. Get ordering folks, the best Chinese in Alexandria had returned. I know I'm not the only one in tears at the resurrection of food euphoria. Going on previous reviews I decided to give it another try and I'm so glad that I did. The food is back to the standard it previously was. It was piping hot, tasty and delivery was lighting fast. I was advised by the delivery driver that the previous chefs/management were back in charge and it's not a moment too soon! If everything stays like this then it is to be thoroughly recommended once again!

had a few not so good meals so stopped going here but decided to get a chinese tonight and it was absolutely delicious.So glad its back to the way it used to be.Will definately be a regular customer again

I can honestly say that the food is now as good as it ever was now that the original owners have taken the restaurant back we had 2 different meals tonight and the both of them were first class perfection will only bee eating here from now on don't just take my word for it go on try it your self will be letting all my friends know as well

Anyone who has stopped ordering food from The Victorious Inn due to the decline in food quality and portion size, I urge you to give them a chance again. I sadly stopped giving custom to this family run takeaway a few months ago due to the food quality becoming so poor compared to how it was prior to the change of premises. I read Tracey M's review saying the food had changed back to how it was and decided to give The Victorious Inn another chance and I'm glad I did. Trust me (I like my food) when I say that they have taken notice of what I imagine would've been a loss of business and perhaps complaints and they have got back to serving delicious food in really good portion sizes. The menu style is back to how it was before the change of location and they're giving out the meal tokens again which no other takeaway around here does to my knowledge. If you've given up on this place, give them another chance, you won't be disappointed.

After the victorious moved the food went down hill but thankfully the owners realized there was a problem and got it sortedits now back to its briliant food

cant believe it the food is now worse than ever the curry sauce was watery and tastless and the king prawns were not very big just like big shrimp this is the very last time i eat here i miss the old resteraunt new premeses and not very good food

The Victorious Inn has moved to new premises within Alexandria. Still the same family owners and still great value with good sized well cooked portions.

Used to love this take away , was a customer for years as was my mother. It has went right down hill , we used to love your curry sauce and now its horrendous and full of grease. Whatever you have changed please change back !!

I wish I had read reviews on here first. Just had the most awful dinner. Ordered crispy beef in Peking sauce, beef not even cooking in sauce but dumped on top of it, beef was cold, tasted like it was cooked in old oil or last night and as it was cold it had fat spots all over it! Chips just as bad and curry pretty bad to. Never again!

I ordered a home delivery when it arrived they got the order wrong included mushrooms which I told them one of my friends was allergic to so had to return the dish there were a few other problems with the meal it was just not what I had asked for so I phoned back and spoke to the lad who had taken my order he agreed that it was there fault and that they would pick up the meal and send out a replacement which arrived in about 30 mins just sat down to eat it when the phone went it was the manager phoning me to tell me I had no right phoning to complain it was my fault and I shold havetold them about the mush room allergy as the use mushroom I told them that I had that was the problem he was very rude and I had to tell him I was the customer and he should bee apologizing to me not the other way round

Another loyal customer lost. Just drove back to return the worst beef satay I ever had the misfortune of tasting. Such a shame because the quality of food that you used to serve was by far the best in west Dumbartonshire. What was the excuse, it's a new chef and he has changed the recipe. Even the manager said that the meat didn't look seasoned enough, and also admitted that he has cut the portion size. A shame really considering the price only seems to get higher. Your chef needs sacked, I said to the manager he needs to have a word with his chef, and not to change what was a great product, his response " I've tried, but he won't listen". Your customers are dropping like flies. Sort it now, before you close the doors for good.

Ur food has changed a lot it's not nice it's cold ur portion sizes are bad need the old ingredients back ur food is not the same if it's different owners a want to know we're the old one have went and have they opened a new shop add rather go out my way to stick to the old vicci inn a wont be using it again unless it changes back used to be my favourite place to get food not now

Whatever you've changed please change it back. I've been enjoying your food for over 20 years and tonight I have to say I'm severely disappointed. The Roast Pork & Chicken fried rice was tasteless beyond belief, part of the order was missing and it took nearly an hour for the first incorrect order to be delivered and when it was it was lukewarm at best. The portions are smaller and service much poorer. I'm afraid to say that you've lost a loyal customer.

Never again!!!!.... Been using this restaurant for years but since moving to new premises it has gone seriously downhill cold food, smaller portions, reheated chips and expensive for what you get.... Will now be dining elsewhere

I have been using this takeaway for many yrs first time since they moved to New shop waited almost an hour for my delivery & when I got it it wasnt very warm !!!

We have used this family owned restaurant for more years than I can remember and have never been disappointed. The staff are friendly and the food is always hot. Not the cheapest place in Alexandria but good quality food. I can recommend the Kung Po and Singapore spiced chow mein

sorry to say the food is just not as good as it was in the last 6 months the food has really gone down hill just not up to standard would not recommend to any one now they are moving to new premises and with the food not tasting that great its a sham as it was one of the best thy are also stopping there loyalty vouchers tho the way the food tastes it wont matter as I wont be going back there for another meal soon hope they pick up as its a shame to see a nice restaurant opening up with such bad food

Long established family run takeaway in Alexandria town centre. Friendly staff and good food. They also offer a loyalty voucher system whereby a voucher is issued for every £6 of food purchased. Once 35 vouchers have been gathered they can be exchanged for a free main meal (some exceptions).My parents when visiting us always order the Kung Po Chicken which they say is the best they have tried anywhere.

We ordered our take-away with rice with being a professional chef I can tell you this was not today's rice plus the cook add far too much salt to the fried rice.When I Phoned and spoke with the head cook he said he didn't know and I asked why? His answer was I didn't make it and so I didn't try it, he said his other cook made it today and they both tried the rice as I was speaking to them on the Phone and found it to be fine. These cooks have NO passion in what they do or care for the service of the customer. A professional chef or a cook will ALWAYS try there food to serving. I can't imagine what state the kitchen is in and the fridges are in and if labels and dates are put on food.

one of the best takeaways in the district,although it states it is only a delivery based shop they will open for large parties,you can also have a bottle of wine with your delivery as they still retain their license

For take away Chinese this place is the best by far. Food is always great and delivery is quick. They do a great curry sauce with a nice bit of heat in it which is rare around here as most places seem like they are using chip shop curry sauce. Sometimes the chef is a bit generous with his salt other than that I can't fault it.
