I have been using Red Cap for years and have now moved away from the town but the food is so good that I go back to Dumbarton just for my Chinese once a month. A fabulous wee place!

Brilliant food and service! We regularly use Red Cap. Lovely food every time and big portions too. Staff are very nice. Our family love a red cap when visiting from England and Denmark.

One of the best Chinese I've ever eaten. the portions are huge, very tasty and fantastic value for money. We always have leftovers which we have for lunch the next day

This place has closed down but straight across the road is TASTES GOOD and it does indeed the food is EXCELLENT and so is the price even the delivery charges are good! Thoroughly recommended. ALL MY RATINGS ARE FOR "TASTES GOOD" AS THEY DO NOT HAVE AN ENTRY ON HERE YET!

Have used this Chinese takeaway for a number of years now, even though it's 50 odd miles from my home town. Never had a bad meal, however tonight's order waa missing an item again, 4th time this has occured but always been rectified the next time we placed an order, in that they deducted cost of missing item from bill. Now, that option was offered again tonight, however, the attitude of the boy (Peter) (who was the person who took the order) was appauling;couldn't care less & hung up!! Aa a family we have made the decision not to treat ourselves from this chinese again after the attitude of Peter, despite never having had a bad meal. Poor customer service.

Located on Dumbarton highstreet the Red Cap is always our first choice for Chinese take out. Food is amazing and can't argue with price. We are repeat customers and will continue using them.

Since moving to Dumbarton over 6 year's ago we have always went to this takeaway. However, recently we have noticed that the customer service is not as it was before, the lady that usually answers the phone and at the counter when you go in is very rude. I phoned to query the price that she had told me on the phone, and her attitude was appalling. The Currys are also very basic tasting, we have decided not to return until the food and customer care improves. Also, the nonsense with not accepting credit card's really is an out of date way of doing thing's, you don't always have time to get to the bank on your way home from work.

Ordered a carry out and i opted to pick it up my self when I got there they do not take any form of debit card or visa, it must be an inland revenue issue. I was £1 pound short for my £14 pound takeaway the woman who served me was so rude I did not get her name but she was the older women and heavy built I handed over the £13 pound 20 pence I was expecting her to say hand it in later but no she wanted me go to the cash line and draw out money I told her I was not going to do that I told her to keep the food and just give me my money back she refused as they had cooked the meal so I went to the cash line and got funds I got the curry home and that was a wast of a fight in the shop the curry sauce was like wallpaper paste the chicken was dry and the rice was poor I will not be rushing back and I would not dream of recommending them they were really good when they first opened nice decor but now really poor looking a good coat of paint and some light bulbs would not go a miss

Being new to the area we didn't know what Chinese to go to so we tried a couple but decided to stick with what we knew in Balloch, further away but the rest just weren't great!! Got a menu through the door so thought we haven't tried these will give them a try and have not been disappointed!! The food is always of a high quality (I say always I've had it 4/5 times in space of a year, don't eat takeaway often) but the taste and flavour is amazing!! Price is very reasonable for such a big portion of everything you order! The salt n pepper munchie box is amazing!! The salt n pepper onion rings are beautiful! LOVE THEM THEY ARE A MUST!! Beef curry is full of flavour and the spring rolls are nice and crispy!!! Ok customer service on the phone could do with a little more friendless but it's fine because you won't be disappointed with the food xx

We we're visiting family in Dumbarton and having been out for the day the thought was a takeaway would save the need to get the pots and pans out. I checked up on 'here' and relayed the poor reviews only to be a assured that the food was good and portions generous - both proved to be true! All four of us tucked in to a really good meal with plenty left over - I actually wish my wife and I had shared a main as with prawn crackers and spring rolls I struggled to finish mine, as tasty as it was, and she left a generous portion despite having enjoyed her meal. Other reviewers have had an experience different to ours but according to the family the quality and quantities of the food we had was simply the 'norm'!

Phoned again for the 2nd time for my order to be wrong. They forgot the fried rice. 1st time I had a curry with no rice 2nd time I rang them back to which I was spoken to with attitude and told that I wasn't originally charged for the rice and that if I wanted rice I would have to pay for it. Delivery guy arrived and gave rice I said how much n was told no charge then about an hour the delivery man comes back and says that he had to charge me. Not his fault. I said are you kidding me on I got my order read back to me n twice my order has been mucked up. The poor delivery guy said he would pay it which wasn't fair atall. Won't be ordering again. Perhaps if they didn't have there younger children answering the phone number taking orders then they would not loose custom

Tried all of the Chinese takeaways in Clydebank and this has to be the most economical very large portions very tasty, with a choice of free extras after £18 spend.. all meals with prawn crackers.

My husband & I had a lunchtime takeaway. Probably the best Chinese we have ever had. The food was cooked to perfection, the staff friendly & it was very reasonably priced. Will definitely be back when we are in the area.

Visited the new restaurant opened at the Fort. Unfortunately, we weren't impressed by the food at all and a slightly undercooked chicken pakora was offputting - this was shown to the staff member who just smiled, took plate away and carried on. We had hoped for a better experience but it was dissapointing.
