The best restaurants serving Chinese food in York Yorkshire and The Humber

Ordered a takeaway for delivery. My partner placed the order with the usual repeat of what we wanted, they asked for the delivery postcode which was given yet they didn’t ask for the house number (basic requirement!?) Upon delivery the order was wrong with one item wrong and one completely missing, two phone calls later and discussion/disagreement the items are allegedly en-route. Not impressed at all. UPDATE. said items have just been delivered and when I commented on the incorrect order was met with a very hostile delivery person who’s parting comment was that it was “a f##king joke” absolute p!ss poor customer service! UPDATE ON THE UPDATE. Part of the order was a House Special Black Bean yet was just beef, all in all not two things wrong with the order but three. Could it get any worse!?! Avoid!!!!!!

Visited here for the first time today and highly recommend. Food : The flavours were incredible. All tasted extremely fresh and well-balanced. Husband had the ribs and was enthusiastic throughout, he said there was 'loads of meat'! Large portions and I was able to take my leftovers home. Service: The waiting staff were extremely polite and courteous. Between courses they wiped down the table so that you were sat in a clean environment which I thought was amazing attention to detail. Service was prompt. I ordered a jasmine tea and the waiting staff proactively checked if I had run out of water and as soon as I had there was a replacement teapot brought out for me without me having to ask. I felt very taken care of. Atmosphere: Great atmosphere! It was some one's birthday and everyone sang Happy Birthday! There was even quite a funny moment where it suddenly went quiet, except for one guest that was singing a song to his table and everyone in the restaurant started laughing and asked him to sing another song for us all 😂 He was a little embarrassed but it made us all laugh. Price: Very reasonable given the portions

Fantastic food, will definitely be back. Husband said the chicken and sweetcorn soup was the best he has tried and he's tried a few. Salt and pepper king prawns were huge. Beef in black bean was delicious and the chicken chow mein with crispy noodles was fabulous. Edit... Been back with the family and had the banquet. So worth the money. All completely stuffed after. The prawn toast is absolutely fantastic. The wontons were completely stuffed, best I think we've ever had. All the mains that we had were delicious.

The price is very expensive comparing with other HK-style canteens in UK. Food is ok, but definitely not value for money and it is overated.

another one of our go to Chinese restaurants been coming here for the last 12yrs great service great food even after the change of ownership its still exactly the same quality food there chicken curry beautiful

paddyfields is the best chinese restaurant just outside of york in haxby been coming for the last 11yrs always 1st class service highly quality food the chicken curry is very mouth watering telephone booking is highly recommended to avoid disappointment

Warm, tasty boa buns. Only two vegetarian options, no vegan or gluten-free options unfortunately. The queue was very long and we waited a while. There was only one person serving. Perhaps two people should serve during peak times. See my Instagram for more!

Wonderful food, and lovely people, this is the second time we have eaten here, delicious flavoursome food, great crispy belly pork and duck, and steamed buns. Looking forward to our next visit!.

I stopped in for eggs benadict and they had a very interesting twist on hollandaise sauce using beetroot which I loved. The service was excellent and it was a real pleasure to eat there. The location is incredibly convenient and I would highly recommend considering this place if you're looking for a bite to eat in town.

Visiting from Glasgow. The food was absolutely delicious and the service from all the staff was first class. Highly recommend and hopefully return on my next visit to the beautiful York.

We had duck spring rolls and chicken salt and pepper wings to start, Both were tasty. For mains we had chicken sweet&sour with egg fried rice and Malaysian coconut curry with duck and egg fried rice. Both mains were delicious and a generous amount of food. A lovely friendly service from staff, would definitely recommend

The drive was extremely rude. He rang and because I couldn't leave the house due to a broken ankle, he was about to drive off with my order with out coming to my door. Unprofessional and the worst delivery service. This guy was awful.

Can’t comment on atmosphere because it was takeaway, but the food is absolutely delicious. I will definitely be returning. It’s just a shame they don’t offer delivery.

The variety of dim sum is of good quality and caters to Asian appetites
