Duck Shack in York

Wonderful food, and lovely people, this is the second time we have eaten here, delicious flavoursome food, great crispy belly pork and duck, and steamed buns. Looking forward to our next visit!.

I loved the duck wraps it was delicious- went with friend and shared dishes was lovely. Staff was great too and atmosphere was nice.

The menu here seems to have expanded a bit recently. The main event is still the roast meats (with rice/noodles, pickles/veg). However there are now a few dim sum style items, soups, chow mein, Singapore noodles etc on the menu as well. There's also a range of sides - though share them. We had a side of stir fried broccoli and it was ENORMOUS. They have the style of chilli sauce I like. Not like what you get from a bottle. Food was definitely tasty. Its not a cheap meal, and it took quite a while to come out especially as the place wasn't busy, but it was certainly enjoyable. They allow BYOB, but of course have teas and coffees etc.

First time ordering a takeaway from here. We initially thought it sounded a little expensive and there wasn't a huge menu, but the reviews were great so we figured it must be worth it...and BOY was it! not much sauce, but it didn't need it, the best rice I have ever tasted. The meat was also incredible, so tender and not fatty. It also felt like it was a really healthy meal as there was no grease whatsoever. Simply amazing. next time we'll come to the restaurant to eat.

Incredible gem! My family and I were scouring the markets for good food and stumbled upon this place, best spring rolls and pork belly ever!! Portions were great value for money and delicious to boot! My dad lived in Hong Kong for ahwile and he knows authentic food when he sees it- he loved it, I would definitely recommend if your looking for good food and atmosphere.

Great, really authentic chinese food, the roast duck was amazing. Staff very friendly and service was quick. Looking forward to going again.

Had a great meal here the food was very authentic homemade Chinese cuisine. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

Absolutely amazing food with brilliant service. Can highly recommend to friends and family. If you enjoy authentic home cooked style Cantonese cuisine this is the place to come. Even if you're a first timer you'll enjoy it. Next time we're in York we're going to try the lunch menu. We give a score of A-MAZ-ING

Great food, lovely staff. Very welcoming. Would recommend to anybody who likes good Asian food. Very good for groups if you ask ahead.

Great place to eat. The building was very cozy, but didn't feel cramped. The service provided was excellent. Li was lovely, you could tell she took a lot of enjoyment from seeing how much we liked the food. Will happily return in the future.

Such delicious roast duck! Service was fast and friendly. The owners spoke both Mandarin and Cantonese. Highly recommended!

The worst tasteless meal ever . Poor hygiene as an old Chinese male was shredding the meat with his bare hands which was served to us. Never go again 🤮 .

Great for a chill lunch. Homemade soy sauce, chilli sauce and pickles. Super tasty char Sui, crispy pork belly and duck on the bone. Owners are lovely.

The meat was well cooked. The menu was minimal. I was desperately disappointed. I had chat sui pork served with rice and cabbage which was ok.

Perfectly cooked crispy pork belly,fried rice. Beautiful. Owners so friendly and welcoming. My eleven year old son loved the food and the chat.

We came across this restaurant during our trip to York. So glad we gave it a try. We got crispy pork belly, signature roast chicken and roast duck. All were equally delicious, although our favourite was the crispy pork. A great find.

The duck was absolutely out of this world. Highly recommend. We had it with plum sauce. 10/10 will make it a staple whenever I visit York.
