This used to be called Wah Kee Bakery. Although it's a Hey Sugar branch, it's still technically still Wah Kee Bakery as they still use the labels and wrappers as such. It's a small branch that sell's a variety of Chinese bakery items. Imagine a Chinese Greggs! There is a great selection of bakery and cake items. The dan tat (egg tart) and the roast pork puff are amazingly tasty, i can't get enough of them. Great Chinese bakery.

An absolute gem of an eatery in Birmingham, never mind just the Jewellery Quarter. We had nasi lemak with king prawns washed down with kopi (Malaysian coffee) and teh tarik (Malaysian tea). Quite limited space so recommend you book in advance. Please note that they also only accept cash or bank transfers - no debit or credit cards.

A bit of a mixed review... there was nothing bad about the experience but there was nothing great about it either. Significantly over priced based on the food and service. The menu and prices seem to be based on the Hakkasan menu but the service and food just do not match. The veggie dimsum were OK but not much variety and not worth £25. The black pepper veggie chicken was good, as well as the tofu dish, rice and noodles but nothing special and based on the service and price, I wouldn't come back. One of the managers seemed too signal our waiter to get us out quickly once we were finished, with an overtly obvious hand gesture. I think he may be confused about the actual standard of the restaurant... I would call this place style over substance but once you realise the flowers are fake and the table lamps don't actually work, there ain't much style or substance.

One of my family’s delicious restaurants (My family’s code word: uncle’s love, the taste of home), let’s accompany the landlady through the changes🥺. Boss lady & Brother Leo, come on💪🏻, tonight’s dinner will taste delicious😋

I'd like to say something negative so that this place doesn't become so popular I can't get a place. The food is delicious from Jasmine tea to great dishes of chowmein and four excellent soups - really nourishing in winter. You know it's quality because most customers are Chinese but too many others are 'discovering' the quality of the cuisine at Mei's.

Food is always amazing, a small intimate restaurant with the best variety in town. Whether you're looking for noodles or rice, seafood meat or vegetarian, they've got it all at a high standard too. Would recommend but keep in mind it's CASH ONLY

Not for everyone. Service is typical for a Chinese hotpot. Food is buffet style all you can eat, so not everyone in your party has to be quite as edventurous as you. Cook your own tripe and sea food while your mate has fried chicken and ribs. Love the experience. Often busy.
