I'd like to say something negative so that this place doesn't become so popular I can't get a place. The food is delicious from Jasmine tea to great dishes of chowmein and four excellent soups - really nourishing in winter. You know it's quality because most customers are Chinese but too many others are 'discovering' the quality of the cuisine at Mei's.

Food isn’t too bad. Communication is very poor. The most difficult place to cummunicate with i have found ever.

Brilliant food here, a hidden gem tucked inside the indoor market I always get the chicken noodle soup and eat in, and get a massive bowl that fills me up the rest of the day

Lovely food. I had the Singapore fried rice, egg fried rice, sweet & sour chicken and dumplings. The food was delicious and they were very efficient

If you’re hungry, this is the place. Hearty portions, freshly cooked. If you’re struggling to find it in the labyrinth of market units enter the building by the corner door nearest Wagamama- it’s right in front of you.

First time we went was impressed by the portion size and taste. Fried rice portion enough for our small family (2 adults and a 2 and half yr old) The beef brisket in soup, again portion size defo enough for 2 adults maybe even 3 adults. Will defo go there again.

Excellent food. Huge portions. Very reasonable price. Cannot argue with the value or the quality of the food.

My best kept hidden secret that I dont really want to share. I love the food here outstanding fresh quality food served piping hot how I like it! The staff are super friendly and helpful too. Recommended dishes: salt and pepper chips and king prawn and chow mein are to live for! My new weekly treat 😊

Stumbled across this whilst visiting Birmingham on Saturday, it's in the indoor market. Fancied a portion of salt and pepper chips, price was slightly above average at £3.50 but the portion was very big. Tasted good, albeit not as nice as salt & chilli chips. Would certainly have again though, maybe something else too. Service was friendly and you got a proper china plate and knife and fork. Plenty of seating too

We had a really tasty snack. We had spring rolls and they were crispy on the outside with fresh, hot vegetables and prawns inside.

Mightt appear simple but the tastes of noodles are quite complex. This dish as simple as it could get its an very large portion for 6.50 yet it has so many tastes, chicken, noodles and I think the secret ingredient is Love cos it felt soo good eating it. I will definitely come again eager to taste so much more!

Came across this place entirely by chance looking for somewhere for breakfast. We were virtually transported to a food court somewhere in south east asia. The prices of course were British reality prices, but superb value with large portions of freshly cooked food. Between us we had char kway teow, house special fried rice and wonton soup. Any single one of those dishes would have been sufficient for the four of us to have been satisfied as a light start to the day. Very basic set up. Clean, tidy, fresh good quality ingredients cooked in front of us and served quickly. I’ll be going back next time I’m in Brum

No idea where Ping and family have gone. They were there one minute, closed for a week and reopened with new owners. Still, the menu is the same and the service is quick and friendly. Food is still good, portion sizes are great and still good value for money.

A bit of a mixed review... there was nothing bad about the experience but there was nothing great about it either. Significantly over priced based on the food and service. The menu and prices seem to be based on the Hakkasan menu but the service and food just do not match. The veggie dimsum were OK but not much variety and not worth £25. The black pepper veggie chicken was good, as well as the tofu dish, rice and noodles but nothing special and based on the service and price, I wouldn't come back. One of the managers seemed too signal our waiter to get us out quickly once we were finished, with an overtly obvious hand gesture. I think he may be confused about the actual standard of the restaurant... I would call this place style over substance but once you realise the flowers are fake and the table lamps don't actually work, there ain't much style or substance.
