I recommend Chaobing. This is a unique kind of street food of central China that can hardly be found in most Chinese restaurants in the UK.

Ordered a stir-fried braised chicken noodle and a braised chicken noodle with soup. Both taste great and definitely worth a try. For braised chicken noodle with soup, the chicken is so tender that meat falls off from the bones, making it easy to eat. Besides, the service is nice and accommodating. The only thing you might need to pay attention to is that they don’t accept card payments.

I went with my partner, we ordered a noodle dish, a rice dish and mixed vegetables. The rice dish never arrived and my partner ate her noodles and veg before the tried to persuade me to have mine as a take away dish. This restaurant came recommended but I had an awful experience as my dish never arrived but from what I tasted of my partners food it was nice.

Wow I’ve been wanting to try this place for ages, and was not disappointed! Super fast service, and I don’t know how to put it into words but the broth tastes just like the one you get in China, so flavourful and chicken was so tender! Great value too!

Having lived in Birmingham for five years, I can confidently say that this restaurant has the best noodles I've ever had. Highly recommended! The noodles are all handmade and freshly pulled. With an open kitchen, you can watch the owner make the noodles . I personally highly recommend the Texas Stewed Chicken Noodle Soup, while my friend prefers the Texas Stewed Chicken Braised Pancake. Both are delicious! This is my fifth year living in Birmingham. The best noodles I have ever eaten are from this restaurant. Highly recommend! The noodles are all hand-made, and in the open kitchen, you can see the boss making the noodles. I personally highly recommend the Texas Braised Chicken Noodles, and my friend prefers the Texas Braised Chicken Pancakes, both are delicious!

Decided to try as I've never had hand pulled noodles or dezhou chicken before - absolutely amazing. Basically the best stir fried noodles I've ever had and the chicken was delicious. And super fast service too - food on the table within about 10 mins of sitting down. Also the honey lemon iced tea is recommended for a reason. So glad I decided try this place

This place is such a hidden gem. I always get the chicken, shredded pancake and handmade noodles 🤤 so good!!

I ordered the dezhou style braised chicken with noodles and everything tastes so fresh. The chicken was really soft. I opted for the cumin seasoning and everything tasted so so so flavoursome. The meal came to £10.80 for a big portion! Definitely recommend a visit!

Excellent stir-fry and noodle soup, quick and friendly service, good portion sizes. Can't ask for much more. It's highly rated for a reason. Note that it's cash only, but there's a cash point by the Tesco not too far away and the food was ready before I got back.

We were off to the theatre and were looking for somewhere to eat some authentic food in China Town. The restaurant was filled with customers, even on a Wednesday lunch, we ordered noodle soup and a spicy chicken noodle meal. We were able to watch our food being prepared, staff were courteous- even with us using forks as well as chop-sticks. The food was fresh, flavourful and extremely tasty, and so reasonably priced! We were not disappointed!

Service was quick and the staff are lovely. Although from the outside it doesn’t seem much, on the inside it feels homely and authentic. The ladies who take orders and serve drinks are so nice, and always make sure I’m doing okay while eating. It’s quite a small restaurant so when it’s busy, it’s quite cramped. However, I feel that adds to the experience a little bit. I don’t mind being sat with strangers. If you manage to get a seat on a quiet day, it’s a lovely atmosphere where it’s okay to take your meal slow. But the food, OH THE FOOD, is gorgeous!! You have to try the dezhou chicken, it’s amazing. This has quickly become my favourite restaurant in Birmingham, and I hope it becomes yours too.

Excellent noodles and helpful staff since we hadn't been before. I had beef stir fried noodles and really enjoyed it. My sister had the mixed veg stir fried noodles and loved the flavour-- though it wasn't spicy enough for her. So, she added spice from the peppers on the table. Do note that it's cash only, but a machine is nearby. Very handy location for the Hippodrome and Birmingham New St station.

Visited for lunch and was extremely impressed. Wife wanted to visit for the hand made noodles after previously seeing this place. Waited in a queue outside due to the Chinese celebrations but the food was certainly worth the wait. I had Dezhou Style Braised Chicken which was a delight (had it spicy but certainly wasn't too hot) and my wife had the chicken noodle soup which she also thought was fantastic. £25 in total including 2 soft drinks, well worth it. Service was fast and the food came out quick. Will definitely come again

The restaurant looks fairly unassuming compared to its neighbours but don’t let that put you off. The food is delicious, served quickly and the staff are really nice. I’d definitely recommend the noodles with pepper (and braised chicken, of course!)

To whoever served me, potentially the nicest and most helpful woman in the world, thank you for the great service. Had the king prawns starter and my friend had plain noodles, both were very fast and very tasty. Would recommend for anybody.

Amazing food!!! Chongqing style soup noodles with cucumber salad on the side is the best thing ever. Amazing service. They also do amazing cheese mango smoothie, they remind me of Hong Kong. Edit: It's been 4 years and I still go to this place whenever I'm in Birmingham. Sometimes I go to Birmingham just for this. Still tastes amazing. The noodles are chewy and the broth is so full of umami. The cucumber salad for the little palate cleanse. Ooof....I feel so satisfied everytime. They don't do the drinks anymore but that was never the reason why I loved this place.

As someone who doesn’t tolerate much spice, I feel the Dezhou style chicken was wasted on me. Pictured is the star of the restaurant in a noodle soup made non-spicy for my palate. I tried a spoonful of the spicy version and they are world’s apart in terms of flavour. If you can handle it, choose this! And maybe the dry noodles over the soup. The noodles themselves have the perfect bite, they make it in-house! Some of the friendliest service I have encountered too. Very affordable at £11 for a main.

Wanted to visit after seeing all the good reviews but do not understand the hype at all. Good service, food came really quick. 1. Soup noodles: broth is super bland, nothing special at all, chicken is dry and just a bit salty, not much flavour at all… Noodles have good texture and seems to be hand pulled but is no use if the broth has no flavour… 2. Cucumbers: Ordered cucumbers as a side and I’m glad I did, otherwise there would be nothing tasty on the table. They were very flavourful and hits the spot. Overall it was very disappointing considering it wasn’t really cheap for a student, perhaps if i ordered something else it would be better.

The staff were very friendly and helpful when we didn’t know what to choose. Unfortunately the food was not wha we expected. Mine had no taste and the noodles were very doughy. The food came out so quickly that it made us wonder if it had been reheated. Then we went to pay and were only then notified we could only pay in cash which was frustrating as we did not bring any out. Was very surprised about all this due to the good reviews. It’s a shame we had that experience.

Braised chicken was a bit of a letdown. It was a bit dry. But other than that this is some hearty and unique chinese food with fresh handmade noodles The cabbage appetiser was my favourite dish

Really nice and friendly staff and affordable priced simple, authentic, yummy Chinese noodle. Hand made noodle's texture is incomparable, chewy and doesn't become mushy / doughy, 彈牙有嚼勁! You can even see the chef moulding the dough from a glass panel and see how its being made. Tried both their soup noodle (dine in) and stir fried noodles dish (takeaway) and liked them both, the noodle is rlly versatile. Broth of the soup is perfect, not overpowering but flavourful, chicken is alright but if I had to rank everything it definitely would be noodle & soup > chicken. Only thing to beware of is that they accept cash only, which is a bit inconvenient... but I'm happy to support small independently run shops with their preferred means of payments for this food quality.

This was honest, no nonsense food that felt homemade. We had the braised chicken soup ramen which came in a tasty broth and lots of fresh coriander. It was perfect on a cold day and was excellent value for money. The staff are very sweet and accommodating. Will definitely be back if we're in the area.

I wasn't sure what I was going to find when I walked in. But when I saw they made the noodle there fresh and handmade, I knew I wouldn't be dissapointed. I had the pork and fermented vegetable noodle soup. To be honest, there wasn't a lot of meat in the soup. Maybe I should have chosen the vegetarian one instead. The noodle was chewy to the bite and broth was really nice. The only downside is, they only take cash payment.. I mean, are we not in year 2023, who the hell always carry cash in their pocket ? I nearly walked out thinking that I had not got any cash with me and if I did, that's them loosing a customer.

I love this place so much. the hand pulled noodles are the best noodles in brum for sure plus they have the nicest service & BIG portions🤰 I love getting cumin and black pepper flavour mixed & then adding some vinegar & chilli 💖 you can’t beat fresh noodles that are made in front of u. I’ve been here 3 times in the last two weeks after discovering it. I must’ve walked past it a million times and never thought to try it. The food is very affordable, authentic, fresh hand pulled noodles and lots of flavour. The ladies working the tables are lovely and accommodating also. Bear in mind, an hour before closing they don’t allow dine in.

Love this place! Love the food, the service, and the vibe. Comfort food at it’s best. We keep coming back for the Dezhou Chicken dry noodles. Definitely 10/10.

Not much frill with amazing, authentic cuisine. The lady taking the order & managing was so nice, too. Open till late evening. The noodles were perfect, al denté, hand pulled. Beef in the broth was tender and flavorful. They don't skimp on it either. I recommend the Cha (tea in Chinese) too. Can't go wrong with that.

Visited this restaurant today. From the very first moment I had a great feeling about the place. To begin with, the waitresses were lovely and they helped us decide what to eat, so we finally had some lovely Dezhou style braised chicken breast and noodles and House Speciality. Noodles are hand made and you can actually delight yourself with the spectacle while you eat if you're lucky! They are extremely chewy (which for me is top!), and succulent and rich in flavour. A plus too: they are served in generous amounts and super fast! This restaurant is a gem and I would definitely recommend eating there if you're having a look at the tiny hidden restaurants around the Chinese Quarters and considering where to have your meal! 很好吃！

Spontaneously decided to dine here with 2 other friends. This is actually on my list to go for food !! I wanted something light and this is the only place that does handmade lai meen! And can see the guy actually making it !! Food came out really quick and really filling too. I ordered their signature dish !! - Dezhou Style Braised Chicken Soup Noodle Great amount of chicken was put in and really soft and tender ! The noodles was “springy” 彈! Great value of money ! Would come here again to try other dish!

There is not much to choose from either stir fry noodles or soup noodles but the taste stands out whatever dish you choose. Our favourite noodle place in Birmingham! The noodle soups really hit a spot and there's nothing better than fresh, hand-pulled noodles! Prices are quite reasonable and portion sizes are good too! They get busy at times, but things move quickly so you never have to wait long if at all. It's cash only, so keep that in mind. There's an ATM in the same complex, just round the corner though.

Every time my friend and I have visited this place the food has been 10/10. Good selection on the menu and lots of beverages including herbal tea to choose from. We always have the spring rolls and then we have the Biang Biang noodles and I had the king prawn hand made noodles. Noodle dishes are around 10.50 but worth it. Quick and easy service, definitely recommend.

Pros: Pretty amazing noodles for Birmingham. Decently priced as far as eating out is concerned. Cons: Major downside is it’s cash only. Soy milk is from the carton so take what you will with that information. Was hoping it was fresh.

If you’re going to name your restaurant after a particular dish, make sure to do it well. Dezhou Style Braised Chicken is one of those brilliant places that doesn’t focus on the decor- it’s functional, but pretty bare-bones- and simply lets the food speak for itself. I had the titular chicken with noodles, along with some smacked pickled cucumbers on the side, and it was delicious- moist, fragrant chicken complimented by the refreshing tangy crunch of the cucumber. Service is prompt and welcoming. When I went, it was cash only, however there is a cashpoint around the corner.

Typical small Asian restaurant with authentic food that is done well. Great soups, properly filling and wholesome. Must have the beef brisket soup. It’s very good. Staff is welcoming, gracious and helpful. Small intimate seating, but can still hear a conversation even when busy.

Food is delicious. The noodles are unique. The texture and flavour are unmatched. Dry Noodles with the iced homemade tea is my go to. Seems to be family owned. Hard working and pleasant staff. Prices are excellent so make sure you leave a good tip!

There's certainly nothing wrong with it but I did find it slightly bland ( chicken soup/noodles ) however it was cooked properly, generous portion size and very reasonably priced. Others will likely love this.

Seriously guys i eat Chinese before but Dezhou is the best! Fresh nuddles and amazing food taste so good. Specially the stuff where so nice and so smile. Love it. Definitely recommend! Such a taste I will never forget.
