Firstly. I have had several lunches here all of superb quality at an exceptionally good price. This visit I had a burger and chips which was amongst the best available in Basingstoke at a very competitive price, it couldn't have been improved on, see the photos. Secondly, the fact that this is a wonderful charity for training individuals with learning disabilities. Most of the staff are in training, gaining priceless skills and confidence, though this is barely noticeable, indeed some customers I got chatting to were completely unaware of the ethos behind the cafe. In summary amazing food, great service and by visiting you will be supporting an amazing charity. It is a lovely social cafe, providing, food, a meeting place, and training. On top of all this It is also. Dog friendly.

Ooo, what a let down. Surley staff, reheated chicken starter with very poor presentation. Sizzling fillet beef was tough cow in gravey with onions. No other vegetables, slowly boiled over a tea light. Top dollar for very poor return. Must have been the mid week chef on for people working away from home. Never again when there are so many other top places in Basingstoke.

I called because I was unhappy that there was no meat in the shredded beef, it was just coating. I was laughed at, shouted at, went on a rant about to me about how he’s been cooking since the 70s. I was nothing but polite and respectful so I didn’t deserve that at all. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. Especially food was flavorless anyway.

What has happened to the best Chinese restaurant in town? And where’s best to sort a cracked tooth? Been enjoying the mayflower for 10 years and unfortunately tonight is our last order. Our duck was burnt and the new crispy lamb dish we had over a dozen bones in it. Gemma whom we spoke with initially offered a 10% discount on our next order, however these two dishes cost us £20 tonight (a rare treat) but our usual average order value is only £25 (3-4 times per month). We rejected this offer and so the driver came back to collect the two dishes. The duck was in tact but most of the lamb had gone and the driver went back with bones and a few scraps and probably part of my tooth… guess what? Gemma only refunded the cost of the duck! Terrible customer experience and a short cited outlook… if they’d refunded the extra tenner they would have retained our +£1000 revenue each year along with the dozens of recommendations. AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!

I'd give no stars if I could. Used to use this all the time when Michael ran it. Horrible food now, tasteless, reheated, just awful. Used to love chicken and pineapple but the whole thing is now orange with a really weird taste. Stodgy rice like wallpaper paste.

I’ve ordered usually good but as of late disappointed not fresh and runny curry that looks like water no consistency in their orders and I struggle to get good orders but lately beef has been chewy and tough it’s usually fresh and easy to easy and curry’s changed. Whether they have a new chef the foods not nice. They don’t deliver that’s a disappointment since they are local. Last spend was £38 it was for 4 of us compared to chopsticks I spend around the same the quality of food needs to be looked at.

This a regular favourite take away for my family. We have been using them for many years and have never had a bad experience. The staff are lovely, food is great and they continue to hold a 5 star rating from the council. The fact that they do both Fish & Chip dinners and Chinese food is a bonus, living in Longparish it is our closest take away and they are also very supportive of all local charities - giving vouchers for raffles and fundraisers regularly.

Pretty average and nothing special to be honest. Had the house special curry with fried rice and prawn crackers. Very cheap compared to the other in the area but I won’t return. The flavour was extremely garlicky and the prawn crackers are very poor quality. Booker specials £2.99 for a million discs. Sorry to say but quality products will improve value and customer experience
