Would have got 5* if they provided the ‘proper spring rolls’ like they used to full of been sprouts pork etc instead of the frozen nibble rubbish..food was a little cold and for £28 I’d expect 4 ribs not just 2..hopefully this feedback helps…and for the love of food get rid of those ridiculous frozen spring rolls and filo triangles…otherwise very tasty and would order again

Absolutely disgusting chips. Extra oily and not edible. Complained and was told they would do nothing. Can re order BUT have to pay the difference AND delivery charge. We always order from here before but now it seems to have gone downhill. Extremely poor customer service. Up on complaining they cut me off the phone. DO NOT ORDER! VERY RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!

Used to come here regularly in 1999 to buy spring rolls on my lunch break. Been back again in 2023 (>_< yes, I'm old) to buy salt-pepper-chilli chips (national heritage) and loved it. Great service. Accept card payment. Friendly staff. Delicious chips. Buy from them 👍

Just had our first meal from here, have to say we weren't disappointed, will definitely be using again, can highly recommend giving them a try if you are thinking about it.

Food is a bit hit & miss. Some of the items are great, others not so much. It's more of a takeaway place than a restaurant, although they have a couple of seats to sit and wait for your order.

Just had a delivery from this restaurant, can honestly say it was fantastic. The service was great and everything was delicious.

First time we have tried this restaurant. Ordered the set menu for 3. Could easily have fed 6. Portions are absolutely huge. Great variety and easily the best chinese food in Basingstoke. The order was on a Friday night(so busy) and delivered only 5 minutes late. Will definitely be back for more!

Bought take away for delivery. Waiting time was excellent half of suggested time. Food was superb! One of the best meals in the town Hot, tasty, spicy enough, excellent price!

Best Chinese in Basingstoke, the missis kindly introduced me to the set meal for one options which gives you a generous sized combination of choices at a very reasonably priced 10 quid , crispy chilli beef great to. Introduced this place to the in laws , there favourite to. Very tasty food

I ordered shrimp thai green curry and I got beef green curry instead. When I returned the food that I didn't eat I only received back £4.50 when I paid £7.60 for the dish. It wasn't the first time that they messed up the order... not recommended.

As this Chinese has got more popular over the last year or so the standard and quality of food has dropped big style. Our order was nearly 1 hour over the delivery slot we were given. The food was cold and no where near as good as we've had. I have been using this Chinese for a good while now and have spent £100's with them but last night was the last time I'll be ordering from OP and going back to Oriental Break.

Lovely meal last night, felt so fat after cos it was very large portions they do there.

On a day out to Basingstoke we found a gem as we ordered Malaysian food and my family was delighted with the food's authentic taste. It is highly recommendable as the staff was very friendly and helpful. Definitely will visit again!

As it's lockdown we decided to have a Chinese meal from Oriental Pearl Basingstoke. As usual, it didn't disappoint. Plenty of food and all very good. Would recommend.

Been a regular user of this takeaway since it re-opened with new owners and it is without doubt and with knowledge of all other takeaways in the area, the best. Fabulous meal last night .mixed Sambal was just gorgeous. Chicken curry was excellent and the prawn crackers are thick and oil less and very crispy. Other recommends are the huge quantity of balls in the sweet and sour dishes and all the rib dishes are excellent, with the proper long meaty ribs and not the RIP off small ones as done elsewhere What's really mpressive is that the food is absolutely consistent week to week.Be careful though as the portions are generous.

We've eaten here a number of times and always been very happy with the results. They have a varied menu of Chinese and Malaysian dishes and all are good.

Ordered takeaway on phone and collected as an hour on delivery, all hot and all very tasty, over £25 so got 4 free mini spring rolls, one of the best in Basingstoke.

Today is the first time we have used this takeaway and we are not impressed. Mongolian lamb delivered without plum sauce, sweet and sour chicken balls delivered without sweet and sour sauce. Chicken balls in a thick doughy batter instead of being crisp. Chips dry and cold.Won't be using them again

Love this place - all the Cantonese classics, and definitely worth trying the Malaysian dishes. To the other reviewers unhappy with their curries - Agra is 2 mins down the road, it's their specialty!

I always used to go to this takeaway when it had its previous owners, like anything t had become a bit old and tired. When it closed for a refit and change of owners it was welcome news.After a few teething issues that it would be fair to go into, after all I have now had two very positive family takeaways and very much enjoyed the food experience.Welcoming and friendly staff, clean and nicely laid out waiting area, well presented menus, good food, reasonably priced.The Oriental Pearl ticked the boxes for me especially as the portions are very generous, I made the mistake of over order the 1st visit, but last night cracked it.Well done to them and I really hope they have many happy years there.

Definitely one of the best Chinese takeaways in Basingstoke. Only downside is that parking to collect is not easy however once you do manage this the food will not disappoint. Be wary when ordering that you will be asked if you want a large portion size which is the same size as you normally get elsewhere but this is not something to mark down on, just be aware when ordering

We used this Take-away 3 times now, first two times couldn't fault it at all and were happy but the third time wasn't anywhere near as good as the order was 50% wrong. Ordered Sweet & Sour ribs and got Sweet Chilli instead which was very spicy. Also ordered 1/4 Crispy Duck complete with pancakes etc. but only got the Duck and Spring Onions, now pancakes or Cucumber. Will make sure we get the right things next time.Also, there are double yellow lines and a restricted zone outside the shop, there is a carpark 10 yards/meters away to park in but cost 50p if you go before 6 pm so use it as this is a narrow road with regular buses including late night time!!!

Went to OP thinking it was Jim’s as I heard a lot of good things about it .I’d say this was a very good Chinese! Best Chinese takeaway I’ve had in Basingstoke
