Cafe Dome in Basingstoke and Deane

Firstly. I have had several lunches here all of superb quality at an exceptionally good price. This visit I had a burger and chips which was amongst the best available in Basingstoke at a very competitive price, it couldn't have been improved on, see the photos. Secondly, the fact that this is a wonderful charity for training individuals with learning disabilities. Most of the staff are in training, gaining priceless skills and confidence, though this is barely noticeable, indeed some customers I got chatting to were completely unaware of the ethos behind the cafe. In summary amazing food, great service and by visiting you will be supporting an amazing charity. It is a lovely social cafe, providing, food, a meeting place, and training. On top of all this It is also. Dog friendly.

Breakfast basic but plentiful, room lovely but bed a little hard, views from the balcony are lovely, could do with a more comfortable bed and a few tweaks here and there but the staff are lovely nothing is too much trouble.

What a lovely place. Was full all the time we were here. Is a friendly local caring cafe. Great breakfast and great coffee too. Well priced, I would dare to say cheap too, but with quality sausages, bacon and the rest. Well done and will definitely be back

We've been to the cafe dome twice this week after being recommended it by family and friends. The cafe staff are warm and friendly and the food is brilliant too. Highly recommended.

I went here after seeing some raving reviews in the local paper. Honestly, I only read about the breakfast, so what came next when I visited was pure delight and joy. What is not to like about this place, great food, great coffee, great service and what a great idea, helping develop young adults with learning difficulties careers. How can you not love visiting this place. Will be back for sure!

This is such a lovely space. Great coffee, good value, very friendly staff and, every time you visit, you are helping with the training of adults with learning difficulties…..what’s not to like.

Further to my previous comments I visited again today, 19th June, 2021, and was greeted in the same friendly way as before. In particular Martin showed me to my table and explained the Covid Track and Trace form and gave me the menu. I have usually had the Chilli and I did again today. It was excellent as usual. Though the staff are disabled they do an excellent job and are always cheerful. If you have not visited please do and support this very worthy cause.

Cheese and ham omelette and chips, plus a slice of the superb Red Velvet Sponge Cake and a pot of tea, As always a definite 10/10 rating on service, quality and quantity. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone in or visiting Basingstooke.

Wow the first time I’ve been in there was Monday and wow, it’s absolutely lovely, all staff polite, helpful and very friendly. Excellent social distancing and cleanliness is perfect. The food was fantastic and excellent presentation!I’ve been back 2 more times with grandkids and will be visiting more, highly recommend!!!

This was my first visit to The Dome Café to have lunch with my friend, and I have to say I will definitely be visiting again. The food was absolutely lovely, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming and a very relaxing atmosphere. I will definitely be recommending to my friends. Thank you so much.

Visited the cafe a few times since it reopened. It was never crammed in, but now the space between tables is the most I’ve seen post Covid. Food as always great, and it’s always nice to support not just a local businesses but a local charity that makes a real change in disabled peoples lives, both long term and day to day.

Just had lunch and it was very good. A lot of effort has gone into making the cafe corona virus compliant. Come and support this worthwhile local charity.

The breakfast Friday road show rolled into town in Skiddy Pete's pick up truck! We wanted to try out the Dome after reading all the 5* reviews!!!Upon arrival place was clean and tidy and staff friendly.We ordered up a couple of 'big' breakfasts and away we go....Timing was excellent, quick efficient service and food came out in no time at all!Food was 'good' but definitely room for improvement. The toast and bacon were very poor! the rest was good, special mention for the old black pudding which was delicious! also found various parts slightly over fried! but then I do tend to favour the more 'cooked' breakfast.I would have also expected a 'BIG / LARGE' Breakfast to have consisted of more than 1 unit per item, and felt a bit on the small side if I'm honest.Another special mention must also go to the Coffee which was very nice! Very nice indeed!!!All in all this is a good place and very reasonable for price!Didn't see the toilets so cam not comment on them.

Well - what can I say!! After my third Festive Lunch this year (once on my own and twice with friends) I can say that Cafe Dome have excelled themselves - with over 800 covers being served between 2 and 20 December. The choices, quality and quantity of food is as usual excellent, the service and atmosphere perfect. Definitely 10/10 on all aspects; I cannot recommend Cafe Dome highly enough.

My 3rd time to the cafe dome and what a great bunch of people running this place this is a marvellous cafe helping people to get on in life, all are genuinely happy to see you and wanting to help. I had a great breakfast which I thoroughly enjoyed. Thank-you so much for making us welcome. We will return.

Me & my sister along with my son (who I might add doesn’t cope well in social situations due to GDD & SPD ) visited twice this week & both times was greater by a lovely calming atmosphere. All the staff were polite & service was amazing. They gave my little boy some colouring bits to keep him occupied, the music was not too loud & the pricing is very good. We aim to make it a weekly trip as a little family as it seems to be the place that my son feels calm enough not to just stay for 5/10 mins he will actually join us in Eating our food. And even more so as it’s great quality food & it’s supporting the local community

I try to visit Cafe Dome once a week (or more) either for breakfast or lunch. Excellent food, friendly and efficient staff - what more can you ask for. I can fully recommend the Big Breakfast - improved now that "extras" can be added but a good fill anyway. If after a lunch the omelette or sausages and mash are favourites of mine. Even if you are not after a full meal I can thoroughly recommend their selection of cakes (made on the premises) with a pot of tea. If you have not yest visited The Dome please do; you will not be disappointed!!!

Two years running 2017 & 2018 I have had a Christmas lunch at Cafe Dome with a group of people and each time it was really lovely. The staff are well organised and very welcoming. I would recommend not just for Christmas but for all year round.

I was on a rare trip to Basingstoke and was looking for a full English breakfast and the Café Dome came up trumps. It is table service and the All day breakfast was an ideal Brunch. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Really welcoming little cafe. Great coffee, great cake and would go back again. The staff here, many have special needs, they are a joy to be served by. Lovely atmosphere, great community spirit in here.

What a lovely place to visit, fantastic choice of food, excellent service. Tasty and hot food and drinks all served with a smile, what an absolute credit to the young people who work here and supporting the local community. Well done will definately return. This place is a hidden gem in Basingstoke.

Stopped by on a whim for some brunch. Good value and tasty food, friendly staff. The building is light and airy.

I have a thing about breakfast. There should be good quality products, a choice of brown or white bread, and hot plates. Most places stuff lots of crap on a plate which doesn't even get eaten

Called in for an All-Day Breakfast. I was greeted with a friendly welcome and big smile. Order was taken promptly and the brekfast was perfectly cooked and a good portion size. The cafe is spotless and atmosphere cheery and friendly. This will now be my cafe of choice. Such a pleasant change to the normal standard of sullen and disinterested service!

3rd year in sharing Christmas dinner with friends, served by young people with learning difficulties. The food was served with much enthusiasm & care & plenty of it. The dome was decorated very nicely & tables extremely well.

The staff are so friendly. The Venue is extremely clean and the food was Excellent and plenty of it. There are a wide variety of dishes to choose from and the prices are very reasonable. We would 100% recommend The Dome, give it a try.....

The Dome Cafe is a special place that always serves very nice food with excellent friendly service. I can’t think of a better breakfast in town...easily the best I’d say. I have eaten here many times and even booked a small Christmas lunch for some people from work.

A friend and I had lunch here. We were served by lovely people and chose an omelette salad and chips. Had we realised how generous the portions were we would have shared one meal between the two of us. We really enjoyed it and met some very hard working people who are doing a wonderful job. I recommend the cafe to anyone interested in supporting people with learning disabilities, as you can enjoy well cooked food at a moderate price where it is obvious the staff all enjoy their work. Oh and another thing - the staff are not afraid to smile which is a refreshing change!

Don’t let the location fool you the food quality is great, always welcomed with a smile, the price point is perfect.

the place does not look like much, but the staff is very nice and forthcoming. The food is good for the price and they even have soy milk wich is great with the coffee. Overall it was a very good experience we've had for breakfast

Always nice food, the price is very reasonable, and your supporting people with learning difficulties to lean real job skills. What more could you want? By their nature it makes it a very welcoming place for people with all disabilities.

What a find this fabulous community cafe was last week. A full menu of basic cafe food, breakfasts, sandwiches, baguettes, paninis, cake etc - a long list. We had the breakfast which was very nice and reasonably priced at £3.95.

What a great place this is. Good food, very reasonably priced and doing a lot of good for our community. It deserves as much support as we can give it. I left not only well fed but inspired. Well done to all concerned!

This is a small café run by people who are there to teach disabled young people to do a worthwhile job whereby they gain confidence in themselves and can learn a trade in the hospitality area. The café itself is very clean and tidy thanks to their work. The food is very good and reasonable priced. Children are welcome and high-chairs are provided. A cheerful and welcoming staff.

Cafe Dome is a great place for lunch. My partner and I have been in a few times now for lunch and always comment when we leave how great the experience has been. The food is perfect 'cafe' food with plenty of choice and the staff are delightful and so proud of their work. Also being charity run the prices are extremely reasonable.

Absolutely fab place my friends and I always meet there. The food is great and so cheap. We have tried breakfast and lunch and even coffee and cake and all have been brilliant.

Had a day off and fancied a full English as I hadn’t had one in a while. I was going to go to waitrose but after reading the reviews decided against.

Popped into The Dome Cafe for lunch with my two young children (2 & 10months). Lovely little place. Helped to get a highchair. Offered colouring and paper along with a children’s menu. The children shared a kids meal (4 fish fingers, chips and beans) with a side of toast. Was offered cold plates for the kids so food could cool quickly when it arrived. The children were certainly happy as they ate everything in sight! Staff were kind and helpful. Good baby change facilities too. Will certainly be back!

Ordered a vegetarian breakfast which was lovely , the service was very good also, nice and clean tables - will be back again for sure 👍🏻

We have raised money for The Dome on a couple of occasions over the last 8 years and, my wife and I have visited it several times on a Saturday morning for breakfast - which has always been very good - it's as good as...

Had the pleasure of visiting the Dome with my husband on Valentines Day for an impromptu lunch. Staff and students were helpful, friendly and polite. Food was yummy and so well priced. We will definitely be returning again and again.

A brilliant café with exceptional food and exceptional staff. It is a teaching café for adults with learning disabilities run by a charity. The food is excellent for breakfast or lunch, great value and great taste! The staff are exceptional! One of the cleanest places I have ever visited! The coffee and big breakfast is to die for! Worth a visit. Very child friendly too.

This is a Breakfast /drop in quick snack type Cafe. It is a "starter / training " type cafe for youngsters to increase their confidence and inter-personal skills. meals are overseen by a Professional Chef. Good value and tasty meals. i recommend it to all. parking is restricted so yoou have to use the local ASDA or public car paking.

I like this cafe as it is set up to support those who are handicapped in some way. They can learn skills like cooking, serving etc. We have been a couple of times and have always found them friendly. The cakes are particularly nice and a decent cup of coffee.

I regularly visit the Cafe Dome with my children, always friendly and accommodating. The food is good, great value quick service. The cafe is clean and has wifi, there is a box of toys for children and high chairs. No criticisms, these guys do a great job.
