Our favourite Chinese in Basingstoke - good flavour and tofu dishes with loads of tofu!

I didnt really want to give 1 star. Wow well this is a place I won't be ordering from again. Food was awful BBQ ribs turned out to be plain ribs dry infact that dry the meat was hard. Shredded chilli beef in a sauce that was not edible and hardly any beef. Duck spring rolls with absolutely nothing in them. Chicken balls again was like rubber Curry sauce had been made earlier this afternoon and microwaved as if fell out the pot In a clump. Please think carefully if spending a decent amount of money on a meal and order from somewhere else.

The foot was really bad I paid £26.90 for cold horrible food and I was really unpleased with the taste of the food and it was cold when it arrived even when I asked them to make sure it was hot. I would like a refund.

Never had a bad delivery from here. It's always hot and tastes great. Crispy Pancake Roll is amazing. I'm also a fan of the Salt and Pepper Squid. Superb

My recent experience with Oriental Wok was disappointing to say the least. I ordered a few dishes and they served the worst kind of Chinese food I've ever had. The fried rice was undercooked, and the cashew nuts in the cashew nut king prawn were burnt to a crisp. To make matters worse, the so-called battered king prawn was more like a deep-fried ball of flour with no prawn in sight. I won't be returning to this restaurant even if they offer free food! Disgusting....

Need to cook there chicken right through still pink in the middle of it. Also special fried rice has little meat. I ordered a chicken curry with medium egg fried rice and special fried rice. DO NOT ORDER UNLESS YOU WANT FOOD POISONING

awesome food..not the cheapest in basingstoke but the quality is noticeable.i would recommend this takeaway based on my experience here.

Awful awful awful. The chicken chow mein was dryer than the Sahara desert and there was no chicken, so tasteless and just overall disappointing! Do not come here👍🏻

Chicken chow main received with no chicken and also was dryer than the sahara desert. Also had no flavour and the egg fried rice tasted like lidls 20p rice if not worse

If I could give 0 stars I would. They fed us raw chicken. When speaking to a lady on the phone the best she could offer was £6 back on a £33 order. Absolutely disgusting, the Food Standards Agency will be hearing about this.

The only good things about the food were: it was delivered within 40 mins and it was hot. NEVER AGAIN. We ordered crispy shredded beef and it tasted of chillies and vinegar. The salt and pepper squid was rubbery and dry yet at the same time soaked in oil. It was a mistake we won't be making again.

This has been my go to Chinese for over 20 years, we tried all the others but nothing compares. Friendly staff, food always piping hot on delivery, good flavour and delicious! Crispy Chilli beef and sweet and sour chicken balls are our family favourites

Have been having a hard time finding a Chinese with decent food, i used to use this place so thought i would give it another try. BIG MISTAKE..... the chicken chow mein was dry and there was not one bit of chicken in it, trust me i hunted, looks like someone forgot to add any sauce or chicken. The chicken fried rice was the same pale and lacking any meat. The chips are obviously oven chips and are dry and stale. The only thing that was any good was the crispy beef which was lovely. Would i get food from here again...NOPE sorry you let me down. Maybe invest in some chicken for your chicken dishes or sack the chef and you will get footfall but if what i had tonight is your best offering then i am afraid you will have to rely on the drunks who will know no better

A good quality takeaway excellent food but the prices are now ridiculous used to be fantastic but now almost double prices do not use

I would definitely suggest this place. Affordable prices, enough amount of food to fill a hungry tummy. Loved their chicken fried rice and schezwan crispy chilli chicken. 🤌🏻

We tried Oriental Wok tonight as No.8 was closed. My husband ordered chicken spring rolls, bit into it to find there were prawns mixed in with the chicken. Shellfish is an allergen and fortunately he isn't allergic - just doesn't like- because it was not on the description. We both also felt incredibly poorly after, the chicken looked undercooked, sauces were runny, and other dishes also had extra ingredients thrown in that weren't on the descriptions.

The owner of this Chinese is always so happy and friendly. Being Coeliac she makes sure my food is cooked so it's suitable for me.

Food was very good. Very fast delivery. Have been ordering food from this place for many years but now the food has improved vastly.

Best pancake rolls in Basingstoke

Food took over 3 hours to arrive. I completely get that New Year's eve is likely to be busier than usual but don't take our money if your unable to cope. I shouldn't have to call on two separate occasions to chase up on our order after the two arrive times came and went. Our regular Chinese would not take any more orders because they were so busy - that's the right thing to do. Oh, and both my girls ended up with food poisoning. Not good.

The lady that owns the take away is always so happy and welcoming. My wife is Coeliac and the lady goes out of her way to go through the dishes. Great food too.

Great food and good delivery times. Only fault was that the chicken balls were a little over cooked

Easily the best Chinese I've tried in Basingstoke. Food is always bangin, never waited longer than 5 minutes after collection or delivery times given. Try the BBQ ribs and crispy pancake roll.

I love chineses food but for some reason I always get bad belly ache after eating it. Might just be me. So I now refuse to eat it . So only 2 stars for me.

This used to be a nice place to eat. But since change of name and perhaps new owners the quality of the food has gone down. It apperse that the food is not hot like it should be.

Wow , how bloody lovely is this place , thought Kings Furlong was the best , this place just beat it hands down , I know where I will be heading for my tea now when I am in Basingstoke, the food is so lovely I would recommend it to everyone, great food , nice friendly service , top marks

Food is good, a little expensive and the delivery charge is ridiculous despite our order being £30+ every time.

Having had raw chicken delivered on a previous occasion I mentioned when ordering again for them to please ensure the chicken was cooked. When the order arrived the chicken was uncooked yet again. Very unsafe cooking practices at this place. Avoid if you value your health.

Great Chinese delivers to a wide surrounding area. By far the best Chinese in Basingstoke, collection takes about 15-20 mins delivery takes 60-90mins but always piping hot.

chicken hadn't been cooked whatsoever after waiting 1hour 20 mins, when I called to sort it they only offered to bring me some more out or money off my next order, will not be going back! Very worrying

After a family day out we placed a large order £91.50, we waited 45 minutes in the shop for the order to be completed we took the food home three miles away only to find two items missing with a value of £10, my son rang to tell them and seek a refund they said that the food was there and that they did'nt give refunds. In fairness they were busy but with hungry children it was not practical to return. The food was very basic Chinese cooked with little imagination served with predominantly raw carrot. Needless to say we would not return....

Disgraceful!! Waited over 2 hours for mostly English food!! Had the phone hung up on us and very very rude on the phone!! Will never be ordering from here again!

amazing food... really the best in town!

got to be by far the worst takeaway ever. Did not resemble satay chicken in any shape or form.....a gloopy yellow mass of reformed chicken , pineapple and what must have been a kilo of onions in a gelatinous yellow pile of vomit looking sauce.....and it tasted even worse. The whole lot went in the bin. Never again

Despite the poor hygiene rating and poor reviews we've been using this take away for years and never had a bad experience! They once got our order wrong and corrected it quickly and with hassle. The food is always good and they are always polite on the phone!

Terrible service and people running this place. Incorrect food delivered. Rude staff when trying to rectify the problem. Spent half hour on the phone to them and never actually got our right order delivered. Ruined evening and all left hungry. Never order from this place.

After ordering over the phone and confirming every dish one was wrong and another was missing. No big deal and easily rectified........until we called. First they promised the missing food and incorrect food would be delivered in 15 minutes. Then another call they said it would be another half an hour from that point and they want the incorrect dish back but they would not charge us for this great service! (?) Then another half an hour and another call from them this time saying our food was being cooked. We said too late now please drop the refund round for the missing food. They then insisted on having the incorrect dish handed over to the delivery driver and made a big deal about this as the food was going to be served again????? All in all the whole meal was ruined and what a palava sorting a very simple problem. We won't be going there again.

I ordered special fried rice, egg fried rice, prawn balls, chips and two curry sauces.....got charged £15 for it, and received all.....but the egg fried rice. The prawn balls were over fried also, apart from that, all was good.....never ever tried chips with curry sauce 👍👍

We just around the corner from here so use it quite regularly. It is always busy with many phone, internet and personal orders. The staff are always smiley and happy and want customers to enjoy their food. They do deliver. I am not a fan of Chinese food that always comes in a gloopy starchy sauce - which is why I like this place.Yes the sauces are thickened but not overly so. The menu contains all the usual suspects and also a wide range of Singapore dishes. The Pancake Roll starter is always crisp and crammed full of a great mixture of ingredients. We are always given complimentary Rice Crackers and fortune cookies - a nice touch. This isn't the quickest take away but it isn't slow - just very busy sometimes. We are always happy with the quality of the dishes we have had. You can get a really good meal for £10 a head - it usually does us the next day as well as the portions are generous.

Don't know about their food but if their rationale is anything to go by I don't reckon it! Went to place a large order (£60 +) over the phone. Wanted to pay by Visa over the phone as we had all had a drink and were not in a state to drive to the Cashpoint. Incredibly we were told that they couldn't take a card as we lived more than three miles away! They couldn't give me an explanation for this, so we cancelled the order. Funny, you can buy goods coming from Australia using your card, but not from a Chinese down the road! Their loss. We just ordered from somewhere else.By the way, we were in Brighton yesterday and called at our (then) local Chinese takeaway (the Crystal Lake in Saltdean, excellent) and got TWO beef chow mien for £7.40 the two. Large containers too. Why can't takeaways up here carry the same prices? Likewise, you can get a takeaway curry in Brighton for half what they are up here. Why?

They have your standard westernized Chinese food at decent prices. Not much more you can ask for. Try the Crispy Pancake Rolls if you haven't already! Quick delivery too
