Firstly, i have to say, i have just come on here to leave a review and i am shocked at some of the previous reviews. My wife and i have just returned home from a wonderful evening at The Mayflower. This isn't our first time here but i forgot to leave a review the last time, but this time this place blew us away and i had to. The food and service this evening was top drawer, Jack and Pheobe were rushed off their feet this evening, but handled the restaurant like true professionals with a constant smile on their faces and a professionalism that would put other restaurants to shame. I am only sorry i couldn't meet the chefs and thank them too, as the food was out of this world. This is without doubt THE chinese eat in restaurant in the Clacton/Holland area. Thank you so much guys, we will be returning again and again.

have used Ming wah for years, food generally very good although sometimes can be overly salty. Normally order online for collection at a set time. Have had to wait over 30 mins as theyve been so busy and this has happened a few times now, such a shame as I shall be avoiding for now

Great Chinese, we visit this restaurant for a takeaway regularly and never had any issues. Would recommend!

If I’m completely honest very disappointed with the food chow main looked like it was cooked last week dry and tasteless dry spring rolls were under cooked spare ribs very dry no taste at all £32.16 was a waste wouldn’t order again and wouldn’t waste my money put most of it in the Bin

Small portions and very tasteless our first time and sadly we won't be returning.

The main of black bean and beef is over £9 yet it was delivered in the shallow smaller plastic container, not a deep container, that a main portion should be, really small and not a lot of beef, but tasted ok. Satay chicken was dry, stringy and clearly reheated. Chinese chips, the same, not fresh and reheated. Really poor and having ordered from here for years they've lost me as a customer.

We visited here tonight for the first time & it was beautiful! The food was perfect & very tasty! Enjoyed every last bit! We will definitely be returning! Very reasonably priced too!

It’s absolutely our go-to Chinese takeaway and has been for many years. Superb service always. In a one word: faultless

The worst we have ever ordered, usually very nice, but today was awful, grey stodgey stuff inside the prawn balls, and they stunk, the chips were undercooked, hard and cold, and there was so much grease oozing out of the chicken balls it was awful. 80% of the food went in the bin...We have always praised there food in the past, last time we ordered it was back in Feb 2024 and I don't recall any complaints?...hence y using them this time as a takeaway treat...won't b using again! I actually feel sick 😫 🤒

Hands down the best Chinese I’ve had in a very very long time. The ribs just fell off the bones and melted in your mouth, the rice was the fluffiest and most tasteful I’ve had. No complaints at all. My go to from now on.

Takeaway only. Food is always amazing! Piping hot and made to order. Incredibly large menu and good size portions. Love this place

I have eaten from here once after this review it would be the second time (hope the food is alright) but ultimately the customer service could be better. I think people forget that what keeps people coming back is good customer service as well as the product. Do better.
