Excellent oriental food with plenty of seating and great menu options available. Very friendly staff helping to add to the experience. Public car park at the rear just off the high street.

I believe this is my second time I've ordered. I'm a big fan of king prawn curry 😁 food has been on time correct order and the food is yummy I don't wanna share 😂 plus the delivery guy is friendly. He's amazing as this evening it's very windy ! Stay safe 😊 I'm definitely ordering again in the future.

Ordered a delivery last night some confusion over the address not sure why as my daughter has ordered before so her phone is logged to this address. When food did turn up not as hot as normal due to going to the wrong address, but that said all tasted good, will still use them as we do like their food.

Ordered delivery here to try it instead of our usual. Wished we hadn't!! Food was very dry and extremely salty. Expensive compared and we had to pay for delivery. Not impressed - won't be reordering

Very nice restaurant. We went for an all you can eat buffet, and it was amazing. Unfortunately, we were informed that it was no longer doing sit downs anymore, and it would be a takeaway going forward. Shame, as I would definitely have gone back and recommended them to others.

This restaurant is dated but the food is good, one major problem is if three of you order the same dish they will only bring out one portion, I have asked them why we cannot have three portions as three separate people want the same item, I was told when you have eaten that we will bring you more, its as if they are trying to take your money but feed the the least they can NOT IDEAL ! One other thing is we have two children who hardly ate anything, when the bill came I said you have charged for 4 adults but we have two children 6 and 8, their reply was look at the menu if the children are over 1.2m then you pay full price, again very harsh way of dealing with being fair !!!! Ocean, come on you could be very successful but i know of three separate families that will not come to your restaurant due to this height rule, just say anyone under 12 is a kid over 12 adult !!! The reviews on the staff are bang on, the female is lovely she tries really hard, the male server has had a personality transplant :-)

Ordered food as normal from here with no issues. As always food arrived on time, all correct fresh and tasty. Nothing not to like never have a problem when getting food from here.

don't bother going here unless you want to pay £21.90 for the all you can eat and 10% MANDOTORY service charge + drinks. they were dead quiet, we ordered 2 courses and after struggled to get the staffs attention, we gave up and left, to be shocked at the bill, lesson learnt we can eat at the swan for less and get more food for less.

Food bland but decent portion size.

Had buffet but the portions were so small to the table for 5 we spent more time waiting than eating. Had to leave for other commitments before we were satiated.

Called at 7pm on a Friday night for a table for 2 at 8.30pm that evening. Staff were friendly and booked us in no problem. Restaurant was clean and spacious. Service was friendly and well timed. Food was delicious and piping hot. All felt very fresh and not greasy. Reasonably priced for an unlimited quantity menu. Would definitely recommend!

Called Ocean to make a booking. They stated a service charge was mandatory. After checking online to see if it's legal for restaurants to force a mandatory service charge, it's not(no restaurant can force a service charge). When I informed them of this, they dismissed me and abruptly ended the call. Silly way of doing business especially when they charge more than other restaurants. If the company is reading this, the reason we have service charges was because staff didn't get paid enough by the restaurant owners. Those days are behind us and it's more a token of gratitude and tradition. To attempt to force this on customers is, in my opinion, a awful practice.

Fantastic food, the service can be slow as staff aren't attentive to customers, chatting with each other or more interested in their phones.

Lovely food, great price, £23 per person and you can order anything you want from the menu as long as you don't waste food. Great choice, and really nice food.

Prices gone up, service gone down

We are new to the area and are becoming regulars here, food is excellent and service is good as well. We called to book a table tonight (29/10/22) and were told that you're fully booked. When driving past there wasn't a single table occupied... Why lie to customers, just say you're shutting early because there isn't enough customers. House of Delight it is!

Lovely atmosphere! Freshly cooked food to order is just amazing. Friendly and hardworking staff with a constant smile on their face! Would definitely recommend :D

Been here a few times with friends family and my kids. Always happy with the food and friendly service, they’ve made some renovations recently and it looks much better. The buffet is very good value compared to similar ones, in facts in general their prices are pretty competitive without compromising value. Recommend any seafood dish, Peking duck pancakes, and definitely the satay chicken skewers!

Delivery tonight and by far the best Chinese I’ve had in a very long time from a local Chinese! We’ll be ordering again!

Always reliable for a take away or if you want more cost effective Chinese. However, a mark down as I do not appreciate restaurants money saving technics on hoisin source or anything else. Adding oil to make it go further is really not appreciated. If I did not have to get back in my car and spend a further 10 mins round trip I would have gone back. Reputation is everything. One mistake can cost everything

Ordered food from here 2 days ago. The order arrived quickly but was very disappointed the good was not very hot and some of it was not properly cooked they forgot the rice and after trying to eat the food it went straight into the bin. I will not be ordering again

We’ve tried this place a few times, just to see if it was a one off or not.. Always forgets food and expects us to pay extra for them to bring it. The food is not fresh and doesn’t taste very nice.

Have up until now had very good meals from ocean, and have told them so. I recently ordered a meal from there. What a process, they didn't answer the phone (which is unprofessional if open for business) and the food was over priced and inedible. The curry was watery with no flavour. The rice noodle was thick noodles and not fresh the list goes on. Since Covid it seems everywhere is putting their prices up and lowering the quality and standards. It just isn't worth the money..

Ordered from this for takeaway on several occasions and never had a bad meal. Hands down by far the best Chinese takeaway we’ve ever had and that’s with no exaggeration. The service and delivery is always top class and we won’t consider ordering from any other Chinese for as long as this continues. Cannot wait to dine-in after Covid restrictions are lifted!

Absolutely the best chinese takeout by far, moved from Yorkshire and tried many before having this place recommended. Not yet been lucky enough to eat inside but as soon as lock down is lifted we will be sure to go.

Ordered a takeaway and was quoted an hour food arrived after 40 minutes all tasted fresh and hot. Nothing not to like as order well packed with no issues.

Always wait a while for a delivery, i appreciate its new years eve but we have waited over 4 hours for a delivery. We initially ordered at 1715, received a call back saying it would be delivered at 730-745 which was fine considering it is new years eve, but its now 2120 and can't get an answer on the phone as to when our delivery will arrive. Disappointing as we order from you regularly

We had heard good things so thought we would try it. We placed the order at 6.37pm, they told us food would be an hour which we thought was quite a while but it was a Friday night so we understood. At around 7.55pm we phoned as it still hadn't arrived. They told us it hadn't even been processed so they will push it through now and will be 20 mins. It finally arrived at 9pm, luke warm. We hoped that after spending £37 and the food being over 2 hours we thought we would at least get some money off or something thrown in for free. Nope, not even a bottle of drink, just the prawn crackers.

We had a takeaway from here last night and I must say it's the best Chinese meal we've had in a long time.

As always fresh hot tasty food. Not really much to say, as always food was to a good standard with no mistakes all tasted great and looked appealing.

Once again ordered a takeaway due to lock down. Takes a bit to get though as lines are very busy but worth the wait (10 minutes).They seem to have a lot more delivery drivers than normal however this has not effected the freshness or how hot your food is upon arrival.I must say the chicken balls this time were the best I’ve ever tasted fresh, hot and perfectly cooked.

Order a take away last night due to Coronavirus, they had everything on the menu as normal. Food was nicely cooked and tasted good. Nothing not to like was delivered in just over 30 minutes after placing order and was piping hot.

Amazing food, we have been using the ocean for about a year now and can’t fault it. The quality of food and flavour is the best Chinese we have used. The staff are so friendly and helpful. 5 stars would never go anywhere else.

Disappointing visit , re heated greasy food . Came here last year , since then there has been a change of ownership . Price has gone up and food quality is terrible .

The food at the Ocean Chinese is plentiful for the set menu approach. However, on all occasions we have been there, the food is not particularly hot especially the rice dishes. Additional dishes come out in dribs and drabsI think they need to wait until all dishes are ready and especially hot prior to serving.

We visited this restaurant with friends after a recommendation however what a let down, apparently the restaurant has now changed hands and has new owners. The food has no taste, the food is not now freshly cooked but pre cooked and re heated, the mixed starters were bland soggy and only just warm, whilst the chicken satay had just been cooked it just tasted of the oil it had been fried in and the peanut sauce was thin,runny and without taste, the rice and noodles were greasy and just warm and the other dishes had formed a skin over them where they had been cooked earlier and left to stand, we ordered wine, soft drinks and beer with our meal, whilst the beer was ok as it was bottled the soft drinks were flat and the wine was certainly not what was advertised, they are clearly serving a cheap alternative when you order wine by the glass, all in all a disappointing experience,since the new owners have taken over and the prices have also risen. We thought it a bit odd that when we arrived the restaurant was almost empty despite it being only 3 days before Christmas, now we know why.

Having used this restaurant for years and always received great food that was always freashly cooked however we we were shocked at our recent visit to find out that ownership of this restaurant has recently changed, the food was terrible, re heated, greasy, and without flavour, our chicken curry had formed a thick skin on it where it had obviously been standing for ages before being served, the rice and noodles had obviously been re heated, the duck was hard and over cooked, the fries were re heated,just a terrible meal. My wife ordered a glass of Mateus Rose and received a glass of bitter cheap wine that they insisted was Mateus Rose, my Diet Coke was flat and poured from a large plastic bottle. The ice cream was rock hard and full of ice crystals and had no flavour at all, Terrible food and on top of that they had the cheek to add £11 service charge to our bill. We regretted our visit and we will not be returning again.

Enjoyed an excellent buffet meal with family. The food was very tasty. Cooked well, hot and fresh every time. The surroundings could be upgraded to a certain extent if all be told, but the friendly staff and excellent food more than make up for the minor criticism. If I'm in Essex again I would definitely be returning. It's a pity that Worcester doesn't have a Chinese restaurant as good at this. Overjoyed to see old fashioned, restaurant made crispy spring rolls - I though the days of proper ones was over. Got and sour soup a delight.

Had food from here tonight all tasted very good and fresh. Well worth the money. The beef chow mein was exceptional and cooked perfectly.

My family and I went here on a Saturday evening for a meal that was pre book at least three weeks in advance. Granted there was 22 of us spread across two tables and the restaurant was full, but this does not account for the slap-dash service we received. The organisation between the staff was chaotic at best with no communication between them. It took at least 15 minutes for the drinks order to be taken then another 15 minutes after that for our starters order to be taken. Not one of our orders (drinks or food) was completed fully often leaving people dry or hungry. Due to the lack of staff trying to get hold of a waiter to order a drink or more food was very difficult. The menu has also been drastically cut down offering a relatively limited menu choice. Food was hot on arrival but bland in taste. Very disappointing.

What a gem! Wide selection of well cooked nicely presented food.Staff were busy but we were served quickly.Good vegetarian choice and suitable for families as well as couples.Price include dessert.Certainly will visit again

We got there at 7pm and the restaurant was relatively empty, we where sat in the corner next to the toilets so had people walking past constantly.

Took 30 mins to order starters, order drinks that never came, after 90mins we still hadn't ordered our mains so we left before having our main courses.

Family birthday on a Fri night and all you can eat cooked fresh food. vast menu all avail and realy tasty, good value but as usuall drinks expensive. Well worth a visit and better than ready cooked buffets

We live in Maldon and I must admit that, although we have never sat at the restaurant and ate there, we order a take away from Ocean once a week and it always has been consistently good!We will one day go and book a table and actually eat at the restaurant instead of having their food delivered but we have always found the staff to be very polite and kind over the phone and on the few occasions we went in to pick our food up.When we have gone in for our take away ,the restaurant has always been very busy so that's a good sign too!keep on the good work Ocean and well deserved certificate of excellence!

We come here so many times as the food is amazing it’s a buffet but the food is cooked to order , nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff they always remember who you are.the best Chinese I’ve ever had!! 😃

Had a really lovely meal here for my dads Birthday. There were 11 of us so we did book and when we arrived had a lovely big round table for us which was perfect. It was a Christmas all you can eat buffet which is a tiny bit more expensive due to it being Christmas I guess. The buffet cost about 19 pounds per person and then drinks are an extra add on. We have been to this Chinese many of times.

This place used to be very good. Over the last year prices have increased, menu choices lessened, and food quality/taste not as good as it used to be. We used to look forward to our visits despite the 35 minute journey, but after our last two visits - the latest today - we've decided it's no longer worth putting ourselves to travel there. Bottom line is, if you're in Maldon and fancy Chinese food, it's worth a look in. Sadly though, it's no longer as special as it used to be and you can probably get better Chinese food elsewhere.

Popped in here on a Friday evening with no booking. The staff were lovely and seated us straight away. They helpful, as we didn’t want to eat from the buffet menu and provided us with a full menu offering. The food was lovely, and we were not rushed. Definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Maldonado. Not sure I will have spelled the name correctly, but a lady called Yen, was especially wonderful. Thank you

Ordered a takeaway from here last week, the food arrived promptly, piping hot and exactly what was ordered plus a free bag of prawn crackers. Quality of the food was excellent and generous portions, would definitely recommend

Took my son to Ocean. Phoned and book as it was his birthday they decorated the table put up balloons and then bought out ice cream with a candle singing happy birthday.

From the start of our visit we were welcomed into the establishment by the friendly staff and shown to one of the restaurant's large tables. The food was excellent and the menu has lots of choice - much more than you'd get at a conventional buffet.

Took my dad for his 80th he absolutely enjoyed it food was delirious fresh and very reasonably priced.

Out with friends and the restaurant didn't fail again. Been with small and large groups, and with friends and family. The buffet is excellent, all selected from the menu and hot, fresh and delicious. The mussels in black bean sauce and fantastic and highly recommended

We went on Mothers day and the food is fresh and a good service and i must say the food is fresh . Went for the buffet is the Best.Nothing is to much for them good indeed, I would recommand people to visit this place they cook what you want what is on the buffet menu for that and they bring it out Not standing under the Light . xxxx

Visited with my family as a treat before going on to Maldon Fireworks display. It was quiet when we arrived at 5.30 but soon filled up. Ocean is a "pay fixed price for all you can eat" place. Not a buffet, but you can order as much as you want from the menu. Dishes are small, but you share food and take a small amount of everything so you do get plenty to eat.! We had a good evening but found that the service was a bit sporadic at times, hence the 4 stars. That said the food was very good and we all enjoyed the time we spent there. They were very good with my 1 year old grandson who has a habit of tasting everything and then decorating the floor with it!!! The fixed price is higher on Friday and the weekend, but it is still very good value for money if you like to try lots of dishes!

Out with friends on a Friday night, hadn't booked but fortunately we got the just-vacated table in the busy restaurant. Ordering was easy as everything is inclusive in the one-price menu. The service was prompt and friendly, we didn't have to wait too long for the food, which was excellent. Every dish was well cooked, presented and tasty and I believe their takeaways are great value also. Very happy on my first visit which means I will certainly be back, unless I order a takeaway first !

Popped in on Sunday lunchtime and had the buffet option. Service was fast and professional, but what amazed me was the speed of the food being cooked. Everything tasted lovely and was presented well. I'll definetly be back
