Golden Dragon in Maldon

Ordered a delivery and knew straight away the food would be bad. Within 10 minutes of calling, m food arrived and it was clearly microwaved to within an inch of its life. Nothing seemed fresh, the beef was rubbery and the sauce was bitter. The wontons were so flat I still don't know if they had filling in or not! Honestly it was almost inedible. I wasted so so much!! Usually I'd save it for the next day but it was only fit for the bin.

It's a shame, this place used to be the best for miles but not anymore, food was very average again tonight not cheap either, bad value for money, i've been a customer for years, the quality just isn't there anymore, won't be coming back.

First time having a takeaway from here and it was fantastic had the set meal for two and the banana fritters absolutely delicious our new go to Chinese from now on

Worst Chinese I've ever had , everything was swimming in oil and the sweet and sour was a tub of water , and 4 bits of beef in the tasteless chow mein , never again

We order from here a few times a month no matter what day it is the food is always at a high standard, the service on the phone is always polite and delivery time differs depending on the day. 100% recommend it's the best chinese in the area

((Not Impressed... Dave's chicken balls were over cooked and chicken in the balls is always dry. Gail's pancake roll made her feel sick and looked over-cooked too. My chips were a soggy mess... All in all not a great restaurant at all... Not really that good, the ribs are terrible just the ends where the cartlidge is no meat. Never heard a wok clattering once ?

Food has definitely gone down hill there and the cost has gone up a lot and no prawn crackers anymore is when you use to spend £15 he used to get prawn crackers no more you don't

A terrible meal. Chicken balls were like bullets and the duck udon was full of congealed juice, noodles were anaemic and the duck had no meat, just lumps of fat. Had to send it back, we did get a refund.

Delivery times are always speedy, tonight we were told 40 min wait and it arrived within 10! Food is consistently delicious, occasionally the chicken balls can be a little over done but other than that, always tasty!

Tried all the takeaways in the area and golden dragon is best by miles. Always good food. My only gripe is the ribs. They are no longer ribs but chunks and they hardly have any meat on them, it's mostly fat and grissle. For the price they ask I think it's a little untenable. But the rest of the food is fantastic

Thrown away after several bites. Overcooked, dry and inedible. Cheap meat that tasted suspect, gristly and drenched in onion (probably to disguise the lack of flavour). Save time and money and avoid. Absolutely vile.

Arrived quickly, the lemon chicken was so dry you couldn't eat it, a bit disappointed in what we ordered very blaned. Pipeapple fritters tasted awful if though the oil they cooked them in was also used cooked other items, Will think twice before ordering from this Chinese again what a waist of money and it wasn't cheap.

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST! Freezer burnt chicken that is UNEDIBLE Recooked chips from previous days business! this place is a joke save your money and go somewhere else you'll be lucky not to get food poisoning!

Disappointed almost a 3hr wait for delivery. The food was cold and tasteless, have always normally enjoyed it but definitely not the same.

Ordered takeaway at 7pm for delivery , told 50 mins. Had to call them again after 90 mins to see where it was. Food turned up 10 mins later , Luke warm, had to re-heat in microwave & one of the dishes was wrong !! Usually don’t have any complaints don’t know what went wrong this evening.

We have only once before had Chinese food this bad. The soup was inedible and reeked of a extremely fishy smell. The beef in blackbean sauce was the worst with meat with a jelly like consistency. We will never get food from here again... we would rather go hungry.

Food is awful, live near by and hear the cooks spitting all day long, most probably in the food Avoid!

I ordered from the golden dragon for the first time wow what can I say ,a friendly smile and pleasant conversation and then my word talk about value for money I could not believe the potion size and the amount we got for the price and to get free drink and prawn crackers thrown in free for good measure ! Only slight downfall that they don’t deliver to Latchingdon however it was well worth the visit to collect and for sure be visiting again soon

Phoned to book a table tonight and was told that it is no longer a functioning restaurant....assume it’s a takeaway only now.

I went there with my boyfriend Wayne a recent Monday evening . We got to Burnham around 8.30pm and went in all the pubs and those that did food had stopped cooking. We went into the Golden Dragon to a warm welcome . Very polite and helpful . Food was served quickly, fresh and tasty . We will be going back there for another lovely meal . Teresa Swann

Friendly and polite staff and excellent food. There are plenty of vegetarian options, my favourite is the tofu in Blackbean sauce!

Always get good food and service, we use the take away side of this place, excellent value for money.

Whenever I order Chinese Food when in the area I always order from the Golden Dragon. The food is great and you get loads. Recommended!

A few friends and I eat in here a few times a year and it's always a good meal. Never leave feeling hungry and service is always pretty good.
