Ordering a delivering takes hrs online. Only way you can order for home delivery though. Only place that does deliver near us so I put up with it. Foods not great, not even nice but when im to tired to cook I order in. Absolutely does my head in just placing an order and always regret it.

The price is OK. The food was excellent. But, it had to be as we had a 45 min wait for TAKEOUT! Will use again when we are in Hunstanton.

Drove to the take away after checking on this page which confirmed 'restaurant open' only to find the buisiness closed for 3 weeks!

We visited last week, as the queues for the nearby fish and chip shops were very long (over 30 minutes wait just to place your order). We ordered lemon chicken, sweet and sour pork balls, and large egg fried rice. The lemon chicken was OK, which is the best thing I can say about the whole experience. The sweet and sour pork balls were dry, without flavour, and the pork looked, and tasted, as if it had been cooked either by an external supplier (and provided to this restaurant frozen/chilled, to be reheated) or several days before, and kept in a cold store. I would not even feed them to animals. The "sweet and sour" sauce, although traditionally containing vinegar and sugar, appeared and tasted like watered-down tomato ketchup, and was certainly not freshly made. The egg fried rice contained no egg. It was brown rice, and as well as being cold, was not enough for two people. I know Japan is reporting a poor rice harvest this year, but I assume that most rice used in Europe is from last year's harvest, and has been transported and stored for a number of months, before being cooked fresh. If the meat dishes are so small, and poorly prepared, the least a restaurant can do is provide a lot of noodles, rice, pasta, potatoes, etc. to bulk up the meal, so that the customer is not left feeling hungry, and short-changed by the experience. To cap it all, even though I was standing there with a (Tiptree jam) red plastic bag in my hand, when doing the adding up afterwards, and checking my change, it appears I was charged 10p for a carrier bag. We will be avoiding this restaurant every time we visit Hunstanton, as the food was not (for us) nice, hot, tasty, good, amazing or any of the other things that other reviewers say. Perhaps they were having a bad day. Perhaps they didn't like me paying with a £20 note instead of two £10 notes, who knows.

Excellent takeaway with a good selection of dishes. Beware that this means it can be very busy at peak times, leading to long waits. Only fly in the ointment is it is cash only.

Fantastic food and friendly staff, they'll give you a call a few minutes before you're food is ready, food nice and hot and very tasty 👍

This is, and I repeat!! The best Chinese in Norfolk, I travel a lot, China hongkong included, so I've tasted authentic Chinese food! And although this is for the western taste buds, it is by far the nearest to authentic you'll find in Norfolk/UK Try it, love it, you'll not be disappointed

unfortunately the order took over half an hour even after going in store to order,plus the food wasnt great especially the chow mein and duck.

Staying local on holiday, always look out for Chinese ,very tastey.

Awesome takeaway but nobody picks up the phone when you call first thing in the morning looking for a game of table tennis.

China Garden House is a good all-around Chinese. It tastes amazing, reasonably priced, and really good, polite customer service. Never had a bad Chinese from here, not that I go there regularly but always consistent. Ideal if you're on holiday in the area as it's right in the centre of town, not sure if they do delivery but it's definitely possible with all the uber eats that are out there one of them no doubt deliveres.

Very disappointed with a 10% price rise across the menu. My usual meal did cost £20.50 has gone up to £22.70. Very unlikely to use again

First time we’ve been to China Garden House and it did not disappoint. Food was very good and ready bang on time for collection. Portions were a bit on the small side so will order a bit more next time. Will definitely use again 👍🏻

We were in need of a Chinese takeaway while on holiday in Hunstanton, the food was so nice, especially the Crispy Chilli Beef Szechuan Style. I'd definitely recommend the China Garden House and we have saved a menu to use next time we're here.

Had to wait 1hour for meal but husband came back to our B&B they called when it was ready and was well worth the wait was amazing birthday meal and amazing value for money

Food very bland... Had the Chicken and Cashew plenty of both in the dish but just zero flavor. Battery prawns were ok but nothing to shout about.

Excellent meal for two. Service was efficient despite extreme busyness. Questions relating to allergy issues were dealt with thoughtfully. Quality of meat and other ingredients was good and the quantities in the meal were generous. This was the best Chinese we've had for a while

Expected a good quality meal for the extra price they charge, but was disappointed. The portion size is absolutely disgusting, the Chow Mein was in a container less than half the size that we would get anywhere else!!!! That was the first and LAST time we will ever use that place! Over priced, under size quantity. A total rip-off! People beware!!!

Advise to telephone order , really good food

The food was really nice but I have never visited a Chinese takeaway who have such small portions of rice. They are so small that when you order a large they show you the sizes as here a large is a small size everywhere else. No idea where they get the small size cartons for the small rice as I’ve never seen that size at a takeaway ever. Being the only Chinese takeaway in Hunstanton they clearly can charge what ever they like, I would like to see another open to create some competition and to at least improve the sizes of the portions. They would never survive where I live where the portions and are much bigger and the prices are much much lower. I’m not sure we would ever come back here because the value for money is just not good.

Owners always polite, food always tasty. Best to pre order on phone at weekends as does get rather busy.

Ordered over the phone & friendly customer service. However, I ordered satay chicken and a large egg fried rice, I received a small egg fried rice and no satay chicken and was given chicken chop suey which I did not ask for. I called up to complain, they said they don’t sell chicken satay anymore so they replaced that with a chicken chop suey instead. They took my order and didn’t tell me that certain foods were off/changed on the menu. This is the worst customer service. Then said their largest egg fried rice is now only a small they don’t do large. Egg fried rice had tiny pieces of pork in it & we don’t eat pork, this is not an egg fried rice. Why give me the incorrect food when I asked for the complete opposite! Won’t be ordering from here again. Absolute rubbish.

Worst Chinese we’ve ever had. Order totally wrong and they refused to do anything about it as if it was our fault. Very rude front of house. Food was cold and tasted awful. Would advise people to not go there.

Lovely food, best to phone your order ahead as it was busy. I would suggest placing your order by post as detailed on the menu as it will probably take several days to be delivered by the postal service.

Very poor service , phone permanently engaged ! Over an hour wait for food that wasn’t cooked through , couldn’t ring through to sort out as phone permanently engaged , when went in they had took the phone off the hook. Terrible.

We got a takeaway from China Garden House last week and ordered lemon chicken, bon bon chicken and rice. The food was cooked fresh and was hot. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. We highly recommend getting a takeaway from here.

Once again a beautiful Chinese take away from here. Food was fantastic and really enjoyed it. Knew they are always very busy and tried a Thursday instead of Friday/Saturday. Rang at 5 to place order rather than popping in to order . As very popular you do have to wait unfortunately quite a while but worth it though

Just placed an order at 5.30 on a Thursday for 1 x Special Fried Rice and a Curry Sauce told 1 hour wait. They are having a Laugh!! Need to get a decent chef or More staff. TOTALLY USELESS!!

Manic always. Everything done at fully speed. Never really sure that communication has taken place. Still they for the order right this time. Which is a good thing.

Placed an order today(Thursday 29th July) here with young girl at the cash desk to be told my order would be ready in 45 mins (understandable as was quite a large order) was told i would get a phone call when ready however after waiting over an hour I went in to the store to be told it would be 2 minutes (this 2 minutes turned into another 15). When i challenged the owner on this she then started shouting at the young girl (who i later found out to be her daughter yet the owner denied the girl was her daughter in front of the young girl. WHAT A VILE THING TO SAY TO HER DAUGHTER i then told the young girl who was then crying at the way her mother had spoken to her that she was better than working for this woman and to find herself another job If u are thinking of ordering from here maybe call up the day b4 u actually want to eat so you can eat at a decent time

The food was so delicious and was served by the loveliest people! Our family have visited multiple times and they have never failed to disappoint and always offer sweets to the kids, Waiting time ranges depending on how busy they are.Our favourite weekend takeout, definitely recommend trying out!

Very good Chinese at a reasonable price. Only downside is its cash only but there is an ATM nearby!

Excellent value for money! Delicious and fresh food. Not oily like some Chinese can be either. We got a take away to enjoy as the sun set, and a yummy alternative to the fish and chips everyone else there sells! They were busy so we went for a wander and a beer and the food was bang on the timing they had promised. Would go back in a heartbeat.

Why do these people not have a separate person who speaks good English to actually answer the phone and take an order!!!???We literally tried 12 times tonight and phone kept ringing and ringing and ringing-no reply!this is so annoying and frustrating!most other Chinese takeaways have a person just to answer phone and take orders.This is not first time we have had this problem,if they paid someone just to take phone orders they would make a lot more money by paying some well spoken young person minimum wage......simple!they must lose an absolute fortune with people unable to get thru!we have 2 takeaways either side of our village but travel all the way to Hunstanton,but such a long drive and wait if you don't pre-order.Poor service and if you do manage eventually to get through(rarely)the Chinese lady is so stressed and makes you wait ages whilst she is obviously serving out orders in shopin the background then quickly tries to take your order,gets it muddled up several times,repeats several times and doesn't speak very good or understand English(sorry not being rude-just honest)Bad customer servive!Food is average size portions,a little expensive but usually hot and fresh.Take note China Garden House as it is "us locals"that keep you going during winter months!!!!!!!

Lovely chicken with lemon sauce & egg fried rice shared between 2. The food was very good but chicken portion was not as generous we get back home. Plenty of rice but would have liked a few more pieces of chicken. More than enough for 1 person though.

I don't usually give bad reviews but in this instance, I have too. We called in to order a takeaway and was told that it would be 15 minutes. We waited 3/4 hour after asking a few times where our order was. When we got it home, it was very dry and tasteless. I would never return to this place.

Have always had a Chinese take away, every time we stay. Food has always been fantastic . This place is always busy, sometimes you have a long wait but it’s worth it 👍

After a day out in Cromer we returned to Hunstanton early evening and decided to have take away. I ordered the special chow mein and one of my daughter's had the duck fried rice. The other decided to just have chicken nuggets and chips as didn't fancy Chinese on that evening. The food took only 10/15 minutes. The chow mein was fine, my daughter wolfed down all of her duck and rice and my other daughter enjoyed her nugget meal too. I must say, the chips were great! I am sure we will call again.

We had never eaten from China Garden House before, but it had good reviews. Because it was the Bank Holiday weekend, we knew they would be busy and we expected a long wait. To their credit, they said it would be a while, but they would call us ten minutes before the food was ready. They duly did so ans I drove in to find the food ready for me to collect. All good up until now, but this is where it changed. I got home and they had got the order wrong. More to the point, the chicken chop suey was grey in colour, as was the chicken and cashew nuts. The peking duck was OK, but the crispy chilli beef was incredibly dry and chewy. This place is not to be recommended, I'm afraid. I don't often give bad reviews, but I am happy to make an exception here. I would avoid.

I haven't eaten here but I have stood outside when it is dark and just looked in...it looks stunning and gives great photos. Highly recommended

Stayed in Hunstanton for a week and found it to be a lovely place, one night we were at a loose end for having something for tea so had a look at the local takeaways and decided to go for Chinese. This one being the only one within a decent distance thought we'd give it a go. Well the order was pretty simple, chips rice, crispy chilli beef, plain chowmein, mushroom foo yung, salt and pepper chicken. looking at the menu the prices are pretty standard but the portion size was diabolical.. A large egg fried rice fit in the palm of my hand. The crispy "chilli" beef wouldn't feed a child and was so dry the Sahara wanted it back... Eveything we ordered I would class as a small or extra small portion compared to any other Chinese we've ate from. The food was also very bland with next to no taste, salt and pepper chips if you've had them before normally come in a carton with lots of seasoning, peppers onions chillis ect the ones from here literally had salt and pepper on them 😂. The salt and pepper chicken was like deep fried chicken nuggets with salt and pepper thrown on them... My advice give this place a wide birth and nip down to tesco and buy the microwave Chinese meals you'll get more food and cost you half the price.

Highly recommend this place. We had a 4 night stay in Hunstanton and had a take away from here, absolutely superb. Good quality food and good size portions. Piping hot still after a five minute drive, had trouble handling the containers. Will definitely be going back on our next visit to Hunstanton in October.

Haven't been to Hunstanton for a while but when I returned a trip here was in order and it doesn't disappoint probably the best Chinese takeaway anywhere..... Just wish we lived closer

Only learnt about this Chinese takeaway and was really looking forward to my satay chicken and fried rice. The satay chicken was anything but satay more like a gravy with chilli - satay is a peanut sauce not gravy and the rice was just above average. Extremely overpriced for what they produced. Extremely disappointing

At last ! A decent Chinese in the area. Tasty, sensible prices would definitely recommend. Well worth the drive from Heacham.

Honestly the best Chinese we have had, the crispy chilli beef was amazing! The lady we ordered with was incredibly helpful and pointed out dishes we might like as we could not see our usual choices on their menu, they also gave my son some Chinese sweets which he really enjoyed.

We love China garden such friendly people they know our order without us telling them!!

Yet another really lovely takeaway from China Garden. I ordered King prawn chow mein, Roast duck with bamboo shoots and water chestnuts and plain boiled rice. Was ready on the dot, reasonable price and large portions....enough for two meals easily. Would I go elsewhere around here? No...
