Rang this evening and ordered for delivery. Guy on the phone was so helpful and funny, and told me it would be about 45 mins. It got to 55 mins and I thought I'd check on the food, spoke to the same guy who apologised and said it was on the way and wouldn't be much more than 5/10 mins. It arrived less than a minute later, all steaming hot and absolutely delicious! Best Chinese around! I never leave reviews and I'd already decided to, when he then called me to make sure I'd received the food quickly after we'd spoke and that it was all okay! Awesome guy and will definitely order again xx

we were on holiday and I can say this is the best Chinese we've ever had! the gourmet box is brilliant value for money and the food portions are excellent, everything we had was delicious! such a shame we're not local!

Had sit down all you can eat buffet recently and the party all agreed and said how nice they enjoyed our experience. Tonight, my partner and I had an exceptional takeaway from this restaurant. We collected and the meal when we got home was piping hot. Big portions and a great price. Nice touch with FRESH free prawn crackers.

We live 14 miles from the restaurant, but It was delivered a lot earlier than expected. I open the portion of plain noodles - there’s not only onions and bean sprouts (specifically asked for plain), there’s carrots and all sorts mixed in - I was not happy. I requested a refund from just eat. I go back to opening the tubs… another portion of noodles - plain, like I asked. I only ordered one portion, turns out the chef sent us an extra portion as a gift… don’t I feel like a d*** now! Great service

We enjoyed the hot buffet. There was plenty of choice with starters, mains and desserts. Reasonably priced drinks. The staff were friendly.

People who run this restaurant get orders wrong constantly and then try and say its your fault. Use these alot in the 4 years lived here but NEVER again . Completely incompetent and rude

Huge portions, clean and well cooked. Really enjoyed it.

Lunchtime menu is very basic and lacks far too many items from the evening menu such as Ribs Chicken satay Sweet & sour chicken balls Chicken curry Crispy Seaweed and I'm sure a whole lot more but really sweet & sour chicken & curry!!! That really is penny punching to an extreme, it was so bad I thought they must have changed management but to my suprise it hasn't. As for desert if you like cheap ice cream your fine as that's all that's on offer, needless to say I won't be going again!

The food was average at best and didn't match any of the labels with lots of items missing. First section was all beige food that was greasy and tasteless. Duck pancakes ok but no plumb sauce. Chicken and sweetcorn soup tasted of vegetable powder and was an unusual yellow colour with no chicken. If you know what to expect from Chinese food, don't eat here. I'm disappointed I did. The waiter spent the whole of my visit talking loudly on his phone with the speaker on. Hardly relaxing.

It is rubbish now they don't have a choice now at dinner only rubbish things and ice cream wouldn't recommend

First off.....the food was tasty. Pity it was marred by the poor customer service. Food was late. When I phoned the branch, was rudely spoken over and lied to. stating they'd tried delivering and calling when they hadnt. Delivery guy didn't even work out how to open a gate to get to our door...yet he swore blind he'd been knocking on our door.

The portion size of the duck was atrocious we ordered half a duck and it was clearly less than a quarter that was sent so we’re really unhappy as it then wasn’t enough to share. The food turned up stone cold as well so we had to reheat everything before we could even eat which then lessened the food quality. For the price we paid for everything it was horrendous

bit of a disappointment this time sadly. the fritters were not great. and the mix box's was very samey in taste. duck didn't have much taste to it sadly either. very expensive when alot went in the bin unfortuantley

I cannot recommend this place enough, went there for my birthday absolutely loved it. The staff are nice the food is good. I recommend it.

If I can only select 0 star. Ridiculous! Very unprofessional. We ordered for delivery at 5:50 PM and they gave an estimated delivery time 6:35-6:55 PM. At 7:00 PM order has not arrived, so we called them. They said driver is out just 10 minutes ago, it's delayed because they are busy. Then asked us to wait 10 more minutes. Guess what, at 7:20 PM order still has not arrived! They didn't even bother calling us back to update us! I had to do 4 follow up calls, the guy who answered my first and second call, hang up on me. To the staff - just simply be honest and tell us the exact delivery time or if the driver will be coming really late, so we can cancel the order. Imagine, our food arrived at 8:15 PM and food was cold alredy, that's almost 2 hours of waiting! The driver's telling us they had the wrong house number? It wasn't our first time ordering online at the same address. They were the only one who told us that the house no. is wrong! All our other orders arrived on time without any issues. My point is, we communicated earlier on the phone to follow up, but they don't seem to care that we are waiting over couple of hours! Didn't even apologised for the inconvenience and insisting it was our fault! Poor service, really awful.

Good is good, but took nearly 2 hours. Called them multiple times and was told each time that it was on its way when it wasn’t.

We ordered a takeaway for collection, as we were staying at self catering holiday accommodation. The service/telephone communication was excellent and, as we had made a large order (for 7people) we were given a discount. The food was ready and being kept ward when we arrived for collection and still hot enough after a 15 minute drive. The food was lovely - we all enjoyed it.

Can’t say it was a good meal. Bizarrely, we got a call saying they had no boiled rice but could give us egg fried rice. What on earth???

Lovely piping hot delicious food, good variety, very friendly staff,only blip on a lovely meal, no fault of restaurant, there was some realy rude,people who were swearing, about the food, and were refusing to pay for their food, just want to reassure ROYAL GOURMET, there was nothing wrong with you're food, it was delicious.

This was possible the worse takeaway that I have ever had, we ordered a meal to be delivered at 1650 it turned up at 1850 after several phone calls to them. the food was without a doubt the worse meal that we have had all the food was only warm and considering they are only 5 mins away from us I do not think it is acceptable. nothing else to say except I wont be ordering from there again.

I pre-ordered to ensure a good delivery time. Deliveries started from 5.15pm ~ I was told my delivery was going to be at 5.45pm. After 3 phone calls to the restaurant, and way too much time stood out in the cold waiting, the food eventually arrived at 6.40pm!!!!!!!!! NOT HAPPY. APPARENTLY the delivery driver tried to call me ~ leaving no trace of missed calls or a message. Hopefully I can get at least a partial refund, the food was nice but not very warm!

Not as good as usual due to having to order food as wanted so did not try perhaps as many things as normally would. food was all hot being done to order not the same as buffet option where i certainly try things that look nice as well as stuff i know i like all in all not as good as past visits

Delicious food but the delivery man absolutely awful and unprofessional. Kick in the door and very rude when I politely asked to knock next time. Regarding answer to my review it’s just one big Lia. The lady did wait for the driver as this wasn’t first time when we ardered from your restaurant and the same driver kicked the door. It’s just not nice. As I said food in your restaurant is really delicious and there was another driver other day British I presume who was absolutely lovely and polite only this one specific driver always kick the door and is pretty rude Not a very good reply for a comment that’s just show the level of customer service. “Sorry” would be more than enough. Anyway thank you for the reply and please don’t go down with customer service as this is really best Chinese food in Kings Lynn in my opinion. Customer reviews are to improve whatever need to be improved. Thank you

Delivery took an hour. Food was cold, and very bland, chilli oil was a joke, just flakes in oil not flavoured oil at all. Wouldn't order from here again or recommend.

King Do ~ the best Ribs in King's Lynn!

I only ordered the sweet and sour chicken balls and egg fried rice, but it really was cooked very very well. I would definately reccommend it. To be honest I hadn't realised what the 'Royal Gourmet' was. I am sure they would have more customers if they indicated on the signs that the premises was a Chinese restaurant.

This place has a nice food. But service is absolutely awful. Ordered a small bottle of Prosecco and apple juice with no ice for my child. They brought a bottle for me with no glass, and an apple juice with ice in it. Went to ask for a glass or how am I supposed to drink it from the bottle? The gave me a glass for juice. Then my partner her spilled his beer on the table, the waitress just gave us a big roll of tissue to clean it ourselves 😅 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

Order was over an hour late. Was only sent on the way when I phoned them to ask where my delivery was, was then sent out there and then when phoned. Food was then cold and of poor standard when received. Will not be ordering again from this restaurant.

When we arrived, the buffet had broken so we were offered any food bringing fresh to our table. By the time a plate of steaming rice had arrived, they had fixed the heated trolleys, so we ate at the buffet. They have a limited selection, but it is decent. Buffets are never gourmet food, but it was as good as similar places, just smaller.

Good points is the food was good . Don’t come if you want a nice atmosphere as it resembles a workman’s canteen . The staff are friendly but not professional . The price point a bit high at £22 per head

First time visitors: Pro's: * Location (easy to find) * Off road free parking * Drink prices - acholic drink prices in particular where very reasonable * Desert's - good selection, and option to have ice cream cones * Food tasted and smelt lovely Negatives: * Poor selection of food, and what they did have ran out quickly * Food was not clearly signed (not good if you have food intolerances) * Not enough staff serving drinks or replenishing food * No knifes on tables (only a spoon & fork each) - I was going to ask a member of staff for a knife, but could not find anyone to ask In terms of price / value for money. We think it was good value & we both left with full stomachs Would we return, not sure. However we would 100% return if there was a wider food choice available

Friendly staff. But number of items in the buffet is not enough compared to the price. As person going to different buffets I was disappointed. However, as this is the only buffet in a remote town these prices are justifiable

This place is not bad. We went for lunch on a Saturday and there was plenty of room as there was hardly anyone in there. Having been swayed to try here by other reviews and the pictures of the spread. I've got to say I was disappointed at the choice, especially desserts which were all cheap looking. The food itself was well cooked and quite tasty but there was very little choice. Another big issue was that the crispy shredded duck was most definitely chicken??? Will probably not go back.

Spent entire night throwing up. Should have noticed something was off (food was barely lukewarm and looked slightly “tired”) and shouldn’t have eaten it.

Very good buffet, on the edge of town... we couldn't move afterwards, top tofu dish, very worth going to.

Super sprawa. Fantastyczne jedzenie do woli, przepyszne, przemiła obsługa. W skali 10/10 punktów. Polecam wszystkim, każdy znajdzie tam coś dla siebie do zjedzenia poprzez sajgonki, krewetki, wołowinę w sosie, kurczaki, frytki, spagetti, kaczkę oraz deserki na słodko. Jeśli kiedykolwiek będę jeszcze w Anglii / Kings Lynn/ to z pewnością tam zawitam. Zachęcam z całego serca do odwiedzenia tego miejsca:)

Overpriced, not worth the money

I've been here multiple times as dine in and absolutely my favourite Chinese about! Always delicious, on this occasion for fathers day we decided to get a takeaway, as always the food is absolutely delicious and big portions and cannot fault it. However I felt really bad for the delivery driver, as the management did not give him enough change to owe the customers the correct change, although this can be an issue for some I didn't mind as was happy for them to keep the extra as a tip since I knew the food would be great, but please in future make sure you give your drivers enough change so this doesn't happen too often as some customers may not be so willing. Also I didn't get the delivery drivers name unfortunately, but he was so friendly and helpful good service.

Didn't eat in, but had a superb takeaway. Delivery was spot on time and all the food was delicious, quite different from other Chinese in King's Lynn and compares with the best we have had since China Town in London. Will definitely use again.

Just Eat will only refund a missing order if you have a photo of the missing order. If food is not relieved they steal your money and refuse a refund. They will refund you, if you send a photo of the food you are missing! No photo, no refund!

Honestly can’t fault the food or service! We had never ordered from here so that always causes nervousness when it’s a new place and living all the way in Dersingham we expected the food to be a bit soggy and lukewarm, which we are used to and that’s ok. But honestly……. Wow!!!! The food was not only hot but tasted as amazing and fresh as if the chef had cooked it in our own kitchen. The flavours were amazing! I’d left a message online asking them to not knock or ring the doorbell when outside and call me, which they did AND it was early. Can not wait to try again! Huge thumbs up from us :)
