Happy View Chinese Take Away in Norwich

I’ve just moved to Norwich and have been hunting for a good Chinese takeaway. I’ve tried 4 or 5 so far and last night tried Happy View on Ketts Hill. I am genuinely so happy I found it- everything we ordered was delicious! The food wasn’t greasy, it all tasted super fresh, the prawns and meat were very good quality, the vegetables were crunchy, the sauces were super flavourful and the portions were generous. Super happy all round and they now have one new regular customer!

Disappointed - we always get our Chinese take-away from Ketts Hill and was looking forward to it however it was very greasy and the spring roll was bland as well as extremely greasy. I had chicken chow mien which tasted burnt and my Husband had crispy chilli beef but the crispy bits was just batter and hardly any beef. Not sure if anything has changed but as I said we have always used Ketts Hill but won’t be doing so again - such a shame

The best Chinese take away in Norwich. Lots of good quality fresh vegetables, perfectly cooked rice, hardly any or no MSG, everything just tastes fresh and flavoursome. I've ordered six times from them in the past year and very happy with each delivery.

Excellent service , visiting fromout of town rang my order through collected drive back to hotel all in under 30 mins! Lovely food and piping hot.

The roast duck chow mein and the ribs were best of the order. The set menu wasn’t impressive. Ordered through food hub which I think is a lot better for the restaurant

Paid for delivery which took an hour, then the order was wrong so ended up having to take it all back to the shop, they wouldn’t refund the delivery & processing charge but said 10% off our next order, I don’t think so…they said would take 5 minutes to recook, told them they better not reheat it! But the chicken balls were so greasy & stodgy they were u edible but I’m sure the seagulls will enjoy more of it than we ate…not happy…will not return…cannot recommend!!!! Nor even worth the one ⭐️

We have been ordering from Happy View at Ketts Hill many times for several years now, and I found it to be very reliable, the food is hot as others mentioned, good portions, tasty, not too greasy. My favourite prawns are always cooked well and fresh. Chicken chow mein is the best I tried ever as it is not too fatty, and lovely. Great service, you can order online.

We have tried many take away Chinese meals in our area this one tops it all. Since writing this review we have had another take way. Prawn crackers, spring rolls, sweet and sour prawns, egg fried rice, ribs, king prawn curry and chow main large noodles mixed vegetables. Highly recommend.

My father was Vietnamese, so we have eaten good Chinese food (as well as Vietnamese), since I was a little girl, mainly in London's Soho district. This is one of the few places that I consider does proper Chinese food, since I moved to Norfolk... 20 years ago. Highly recommended.

Yummy food,food was delivered later than expected,around an hour. Quality food at anticipated flavour.

Really disappointed this time, placed order for collection and when got home had the wrong order / food, apparently it was our fault and no negotiation even though we specially asked for roast pork chow mien and got roast pork chop suey, been using Happy View for years and continued to after moving house even though it now doesn’t deliver which mean us turning out each time and to get such a blunt and rude response when we queried it has left a bad taste, will think twice before using again now.

Have never had a bad meal here. Always get the meal delivered which arrives quicker than I could drive there, wait and return!

`I have been doing the rounds trying to find theeeeeeeeeee 'one' - this can slightly closer than I have experienced in Norwich and it was very good. I think you would not get perfection unless you go to Soho in London. I will definitely give this another go as I was a bit cautious in my choice as I have been so let down in the past. Will review again very soon.

We ordered a takeaway from here on Saturday night. We could hear in the background of the call that they were really busy, which gave us hope. It took a little longer to be delivered than what they said, but it was worth the wait! It was possibly the best Chinese takeaway we’ve ever had, and we will most certainly be ordering again!

We have been having a takeaway regularly from Happy View and cannot fault it. Devliery has always been prompt, delivery staff polite, food is hot. Wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Ordered our take-away on line and collected in the store. The food was good, very fresh and well flavoured. Sauces were unusually light, and overall I was impressed with the quality of the food.

En nuestra opinión, los mejores chinos en Norwich. El personal siempre educado y amable, la comida caliente y sabrosa, es nuestras familias van a lugar en esas noches donde solo comida china. Una vez tuvimos una tortilla demasiado salada pero 1 llamada telefónica y 20 minutos más tarde otra fue entregada y fue perfecta. Bien vale la pena el dinero:)

Pedí y recibí la comida equivocada, puse tofu en lugar de champiñones al curry y me dijeron que si quería un reembolso completo tendría que volver a China con la comida, no había ninguna oferta para que alguien me entregara el pedido correcto, así que me reembolsaron a través de mi tarjeta por un artículo cuando quería la comida completa o el reembolso completo. ¡Lo he usado tantas veces, pero ese mal servicio al cliente ahora me ha desanimado! ! Rápido para tomar su dinero pero no rápido para corregir un pedido que fue su error! ! No volverá a usar

Llegué del trabajo hambriento, así que pensé que pediría chino agradable y simple.

Servicio realmente mala cuando llamamos para avisar que me habían enviado el orden equivocado. La persona que me contesto intentó decirme que era lo que habíamos pedido y comenzó a discutir conmigo. La calidad era pobre y muy mal servicio no volveremos o recomendar a cualquiera, de hecho lo contrario. tranquilo

Quick delivery, food was nice but they have been better in the past. Price wise, same as everywhere else. Overall hit and miss but generally ok.

Well I certainly didn't get what I ordered which was very disappointing. And the spring rolls were soggy with no sign of any meat in them. I shall be ordering from somewhere else next time.

I called for a replacement and gave back the first order, which would have been ok, but the replacement had half as much food in it and was bland in comparison, almost as if the chef wasn't happy to make another dish and made it purposely bad. however the customer service was good but overall a ruined meal and evening and would not order again from this Chinese.

Staff called immediately after placing the order to check a note we'd put on and were accommodating with our allergies. Fried rice could have been a bit more fried but other than that great food.

I've ordered from here a few times now and honestly believe that it's currently the best Chinese in my area!

First time of using this takeaway, they were on time with the delivery time they estimated. The food was of good quality however we had one dish which was the crispy beef, it stated it being spicy but had no spice to it. Also it was the only dish we had of the 3 dishes which was cold which I do not understand why it was the only cold one.

Sooooooooooooooooooooo nice. I love the food from Happy View. It is always excellent and delicious. Arrived about 15 minutes before the estimated time so I was happy.

Usually use just eat for my orders.This is a good take away, it has standard Chinese menu at reasonable prices and is usually delivered in good time.

Food was almost two hours late as the restaurant had lost our order. We had to contact just eat to phone the restaurant so that we could receive our order. When the food finally turned up we were still missing items from our order.

1 hour 30 mins to deliver ok just warm food. Wouldn't recommend this takeaway

Literally the best Chinese Ive had in a long time. First time I've ordered from here and I will definitely be ordering again. Only tiny moan I have is the duck on my chowmein was pretty fatty but that's just one of those things.

Hot tasty food. First time ordering from here, even though it is just around the corner. I wasn't a fan off the bbq sauce that came with the ribs, but that's just my personal preference. Can't fault it otherwise!
