The best restaurants serving Chinese food in East of England

The best Chinese food in Cambridge I have ever tasted. Good quality and low price. The store was a bit crowded but I didn't particularly mind. There are many Chinese people and the atmosphere is generally very good.

I’ve never really experienced a Chinese meal quite like it, I’m in my fifties and have eaten A LOT of British Chinese food…and this might be only my second ever bad review that I’ve been compelled to write. If I hadn’t actually gone in and ordered the food myself I would never had believed it had come from a Chinese restaurant. The egg fried rice had never seen the inside of a wok, it was anemic, cold, soggy and utterly tasteless. It was basically unseasoned boiled rice with a tiny bit of unseasoned cold scrambled egg in it…absolutely unforgivable. The pork was was once again unseasoned and completely without flavour, some of the balls were hot and some were not, it tasted like a dish that had been cooked, frozen and then reheated. The sweet and sour sauce was thin, watery, unseasoned (once again) and a tepid temperature, I asked for some green chilli to be put in the sauce, which they did, but somehow managed to burn them to an acid unpleasant crispness. There’s more to say but I don’t have the energy for such negativity! Fundamentally, it was tasteless reheated rubbish. There was one nice plus point, I was given a free 2025 calendar.

Well what a shame. I have used Aroma regularly for the past 6 years since I moved to Ipswich The food has always been good and very reasonably priced. However, in recent months the standard of the rice has definitely got worse. I often go just after it opens and the rice simply tastes old and reheated. Its gone from white and fluffy to dark and unpleasant.

House special fried rice. Chose the veggie option. No veg, 75% rice. No flavor, no color. Not even a slice of onion.......next... king prawn chow mean, dry. Shrimp rock hard and stunk. Long black hair in first bite. After last bite the wife ran to the crapper woth diarrhea. Stay away!!! Poison

Been getting our Chinese from here for at least 15 years. But it's obviously changed hands or they have changed chef. This is no longer good. Poor quality ingredients and poor flavour such a shame. Photo below of the ribs are now just small chunks. Ordered twice over tbe last few weeks and its got worse each time. Such a waste of money. We will now be looking for a new take away

Take away this evening wasn't the best sadly ... noodles not very spicy and old prawn crackers (soft) ... never cheap these days so felt let down... they are usually fab ...
