I don't usually leave reviews but this place deserves one. Lovely staff, even the drivers are sweet. Place is very clean and the food is incredibly fresh and light and not greasy like other places. Delicious.

Honestly one of the best Chinese in Norwich. Prices are amazing for how big the portions are and they have all the classics. Super easy to park outside to collect.

absolutely love this place. we order from here almost every sunday and the food is always ready in 10 minutes and is amazing every time. the staff here are also kind and polite which is the cherry on top. couldn’t recommend more :)

Am a very fussy eater. This is by far the most superior Chinese takeaway in Norwich. Ken Tong and Baby Buddha are great too but New Island is more sophisticated and is No1

Had a chicken curry and it was awful the chicken definitely wasn't fresh chicken tasted horrible won't have that again

The best Chinese takeaway I have ever eaten in Norwich. Fresh ingredients and extremely well cooked to perfection. No pre-made bright, orange sweet and sour sauce. Very impressed A+++

Great food, it's quicker to collect

When I started using the place first the food wasn't bad, but the last few times the food has been over cooked and burnt. The curry's were very powdery.

Called my local Chinese takeaway on New Year’s Eve and they were booked up for nearly 3 hours, so tried these guys instead. Order was delivered within 30 minutes, was spot on, and all tasted good. Prices were reasonable.

Absolutely delicious takeaway, delivered hot & in good time. Every dish was spot on. We are completely converted and this will now be our go to Chinese. 5 stars from us.

Have been using new island for about 6months but in the last couple of weeks the food is very disappointing, stodgy dry rice, dry spring rolls that have got smaller and smaller. Ribs which are mainly bone and no meat.

Tasty food and reasonable prices. Long wait on weekend but the food is defo worth the wait! Would recommend :)

We use this Chinese regularly and always find it good. Last nights(9th June 22) was exceptional. Thank you very much to the chef.

Very good food and quick delivery

Our usual chinese take away is very busy on a saturday night and constantly engaged when ringing so I made the decision to try an alternative. Oh my god I was not disappointed! The service was a prompt 20 mins (this would have been an hour wait at our usual) We enjoyed sweet and sour chick balls, Singapore noodles and crispy chilli beef with chips. The flavour was amazing, I will certainly be going here in the future!!! Free prawn crackers were a welcome surprise👍👍 Apologies for not taking any photos😃

Ordered my meal at 4 55pm was told it would be an hour,still hadn't arrived after 2 hours, rang them they said it will be with me in 20mins,1 hour later still not here ,I rang them again and cancelled it guess what it turned up ,I sent back.I only live 5 minutes away won't be ordering from them again

Best Chinese in my opinion. Good meal boxes. Order from website, ready by the time I've driven there (15 mins), or wait 30-50 mins for delivery.

Delivery was way over an hour, food was very bland and chips where definitely reheated. Worst Chinese food I've had.

An excellent Chinese. Food excellent. Staff and delivery drivers excellent. Fair prices. All in all, probably the best in South Norwich. We normally order once a week or fortnightly depending, for delivery to spruce crescent. All in all a winning combination. Give it a try. You will not be disappointed.

I love this place, the staffs are friendly, the owners are lovely and the food is really niceeee 😍 You will always have a free Prawn Cracker or fortune cookies when your order is over £18 xx I miss the shop a lot xx

Ah, what a find and what a terrific place. Rang a sizeable telephone order before they officially opened and order taken happily, efficiently and very friendly. When I came to collect, the last dish was being freshly prepared. When I checked the bag in the car I saw not only the often gifted free prawn cracker, but some fortune cookies too AND free spring rolls. What a lovely thing to do. And once we’d opened all the cartons and laid out the dishes how beautiful it all looked. And tasted sublime. Fabulously tender beef (which at lesser takeaways is nearly always overcooked)... Huge tasty king prawns... Perfect Singapore noodles. And the free spring rolls were yum too. Highly highly recommend you try this wonderful business... all our dishes were Chinese but they serve Thai here too. Thank you to everyone at New Island for a memorable family lunch.

Since being taken over....its so much better Lots of choices and friendly staff... The actual take away has been redecorated and its lovely... Clean, fresh and inviting.... I would like to see more mushroom dishes and dishes suitable for vegans, not just vegetarians....

Can't fault the food at all, clear plates all round & considering this is the first time we've ordered from there that's great in my eyes :) would give ten stars if possible, will use again 100%

Me and my Fiance had never eaten from here before but I'm glad we did!! It was amazing from the start, food was fresh, hot, good portion size and not greasy at all. Safe to say we won't be getting Chinese from anywhere else, we are really impressed with customer service and the food!

firstly are ordered arrived with missing item. We called back to be told she remember me saying red Thai curry but didn't write it done and she will send it out but will cost another £6.20. Then when it arrives its pale and doesn't smell or look like a red curry. I called back saying we wasn't happy... to be told that's the way they do it and that's that. Its disappointing that a takeaway which is a night of from cooking and costs alot of money turned in to a disaster. Not happy with this place at all!!

Este es uno de los chinos que más pedimos. Me encantan los chips de sal y pimienta y el arroz frito de cerdo desde aquí. Recientemente, la salsa agridulce ha sabido mucho mejor de lo habitual. Personalmente, creo que necesitan actualizarse y aceptar pagos con tarjeta para las visitas, pero aún así me encanta la comida aquí. El personal siempre es muy amable cuando he ido también.

Got a under new management leaflet through the door so thought we would give them a try as had previously stopped using them due to bad quality meats and not being able to cook certain things properly but nothing has changed, dreadful quality food still. Don't waste your money here.

Absolutely awful customer service placed the order at 6pm and waited patiently till 7:30 despite being told that the order would be 1 hour, after calling was told they was waiting for a driver around 10mins, then called back 15 mins later to be told the food is still being cooked. They used to be good, under new management and won’t use again.

Reasonably cheap, food of good quality seems to be freshly prepared never had any problems. They only around the corner and pretty much open till late, would definitely recommend as a takeaway if you pick it up yourself! Never used delivery service though.

Used to be good. Before changing hands. Gave them s chance as new. When it comes and you have to microwave it as it's cold that did it for me.

Chow meins are good quality. You're best to order in person so you get the food fast!

Ordered food at 7:39pm.. Its not 9:28pm and its still not been delivered... Considering I only ordered a chicken curry, egg fried and Chips I'm shocked!! My partner also rang up at 9pm to see what was going on and to be told there only now cooking it but changed the time twice on the just eat website. I'm hoping when it actually decides to turn up it will taste nice and be warm if not I won't be happy!

Had a order for a 6pm delivery turns up at 6.37pm food warm and wasn't helpful when made enquiries about our delivery.

Best Chinese takeaway I've found in Norwich so far :) delivery always on time, food always hot and good price. Only thing is they aren't very generous on meat. Number of occasions I've only had 4/5 bits of beef in my chow mein :(

I have just recovered, more or less, three days after eating their duck curry and rice and getting food poisoning with uncontrollable shivering for an hour. Do not risk eating their food

Very fast delivery, nice hot food delivered exactly how we ordered it with bits taken out, rang doorbell even though I asked to knock quietly as have children in bed but they weren't disturbed so not an issue and the driver did apologise

Chips were cold. Usually food is always fresh and steaming hot but the last couple of times I've ordered chips have been cold and chewy.

Food arrived 1 hour 15 mins late (suspiciously, 15 minutes after I'd called them to ask where it was - they're 5 minutes down the road - enough time to prepare the meal and deliver it i.e. they'd forgotten about our order). When it finally arrived, the food was at best palatable. Meat was dry, other ingredients were overcooked. Essentially, I think they forgot about us and threw our meal together with what was lying around. Don't use this rubbish place.

1.5 hours to wait for delivery, called restaurant 3 times weren't bothered!

Poor quality, chow mien was like instant noodles,no effort put into the food. Even the easy to do dishes were epic fails. Poor effort overall.

Really disappointed, this used to be my favourite Chinese. They got our order wrong twice, the first time our full order and the second time just a chow mein. What was delivered was nowhere near great, and we definitely won't be ordering from here again :(

Delivery driver complained about having to deliver to my door... also the fortune cookies were soft and stale.

Don't normally use these guys but glad I did,Curries we ordered were lush,very fresh and hot and came within time they said,recommend!!!!

The honey ribs were a bit dry and I expected the Kung Po Special and Honey Chilli Chicken to be more spicy, but on the whole it tasted ok and the lemon chicken was nice. Service was excellent but there is a £1 delivery fee. Many take away places don't charge a fee if you buy more than £12 of food.
