Ordered a delivery. Soo happy it was open on Bank Holiday. Ordered my favourite dishes as well as ribs which I don’t often order. Was delicious and will be going again next time I’m in Norwich

Best Chinese I've ever had! Lovely friendly staff, delicious food! Particularly loved the Cantonese style pork belly - highly recommended. I drive over from Costestessy as better than any of the others west of Norwich. Also is the only Chinese takeaway with 5 star hygiene rating this side of Norwich!

Have been ordering from Golden City for many years now and allways happy with their food although the last 2 times the chips which we allways loved were barely cooked ..used to be nice crispy tasty brown ones ,best chips ever ..so please can you do them how they had been for years and why change them ? Apart from them,love Golden city food

It was half hour before close but they where the most dry pork balls I've had and the extra barbeque sauce i ordered was a bit odd got a bit more flavour at bottom of pot but rest was shame as BBQ sauce with chow mein is a naughty treat I like for myself. the plain chow mein was good. The main beef ginger and soy dish was just squares or ginger a couple of inches square not something you want bite into. I'm a chef and they are close to being half decent they just want to care a touch more

Food was disgusting to say the least. No beef in the crispy shredded beef, just batter. Spring rolls undercooked. Overall felt unsafe to eat. Will never be ordering from golden city again that’s for sure.

I order some food and they said it will be 30 to 40 mins bit it's been over an hour and we still haven't got the food thinking to send bk if cold and order fm my original restaurant that never let me down

The best Chinese in Norwich - chicken balls are incredible and the crispy shredded chilli chicken is proper pieces of chicken. Ordered and collected within 10 minutes on a Sunday evening - faultless!

Been going to this chinese for over 10 years, food has always been fantastic, once you try you won't want to go back to your 'usual' chinese, can promise you that 🤤. 10/10.

There has been a Chinese takeaway here for well over 40years. I don't know if it is run by the same family, but whilst I have several other takeaways closer, I always choose this one above any other. The food flavour and portion size , is better than any other local ones I've tried, and the prices are the same or cheaper than others, we have tried, when going around friends who also have their favourite takeaway. The delivery is usually prompt, and the food is usually hot, unless they are really busy.

This was my 'go 2' Chinese takeaway until my recent order. I think they've made a few changes 2 my favourite dishes . The Chicken chow mein barely had any chicken in but they've now added chunks of onion and that was far too overpowering for me. The beef in Blackbean was a little tough to chew. I'm hoping it was a one-off & things will be back to how they were before or I'll have to find myself a new takeaway!

Went in the bin, black bean beef very nice, pork balls were utterly disgusting, dry as wood, tasted like the oil they had been cooked in was about 12 years old, disappointed because I have been a happy customer in the past

We ordered a meal for 8 hungry people last night and boy was it good. Prompt delivery, everything we ordered arrived, it was all hot and cooked beautifully. It was absolutely lovely, & we all enjoyed the experience 😃

Both my house mates heard me say the order on the phone. Some food was left out of the order even though everyone heard me order it. When I called they told me I didn’t order it…

It’s a shame! Don’t know what happened to this place… it used to be good. Ordered several things yesterday and it was all barely edible. The crispy aromatic duck was something unidentifiable like it’s been through the blender… The dough inside the chicken balls was raw. And the black bean beef was awful - the beef impossible to chew. Wouldn’t be ordering from them again.

Tried this place tonight just because our last meal at our usual place was rubbish but wow am I glad we did as the food was blooming awesome .We dont eat takeaway often but when we do this is our new favourite. We highly recommend it .

Very friendly. Excellent tasting food and great portions! Literally call and order and can pick up in ten minutes 99% of the time.

Love this place!! On top form everytime. Order at least every other week. Fantastic curries and great value for money. Especially if you ask for the curries to be uped to (larges) aswell as the rice. L

Lovely friendly Chinese takeaway. The lady at the desk is always super courteous, the food is made quickly and always arrives piping hot. I'm a fan of their sweet and sour menu and have yet to have anything but great tasting food from there. One of the best take aways in Norwich.

Been using Golden City after trying a few of the choices on Dereham rd and even though its not my 1st choice its a good 2nd. The food quality is always very good and the wait times are usually pretty short but the only thing stopping me from giving it 5 stars is the fact you can only use cash. If the cashpoint outside is not working your nearest one is then Tesco's. I know its reasonably common in takeaways to have cash only but these days the option should be available. Apart from that very nice place and friendly staff.

This is probably one of the best take aways I have had & I’m not local. When ever I visit my Mum I always look forward to their vegetarian dish. Many Chinese take aways don’t accommodate decent or creative veggie dishes but this one is spot on. I always have the fried tofu ( not greasy at all) with curry sauce. On the menu it’s with a different sauce but they happily change this for me... what stars they are! The dish is totally scrummy with various veg included. The tofu is light chunky & not bland at all, the curry sauce is very tasty... nice & thick. Mum has had various chicken dishes which she says are lovely... the chicken balls are huge! Food is always delivered on time, hot & fresh. Thank you Golden city you shall be having my service tomorrow as visiting Norwich again... can’t wait!!!

Whilst staying in Horning for a week, we decided on a Chinese/Thai takeaway. We initially looked at the reviews and decided to go to the ThaiWay in Hoveton. The negative reviews for the Golden City turned us off However, tonight we decided to support the Golden City. It was AMAZING. We had to wait a long time for it to be made, but isn't that a sign of a busy Chinese well respected by the locals. Excellent meal, don't be put off by the negative ones.

First meal we have had from here very pleased great service on time delivery hot foot and delicious will definitely recommend and be ordering again soon

All the king prawn dishes are lovely - it arrived on time and the dishes were really fresh with nicely cooked vegetables. Some Chinese spoil theirs by overcooking the veggies. I was pleasantly surprised as not had much luck with Chinese takeaways lately in Norwich.

That was thoroughly enjoyable , lovely flavours , hot and delivered when said ,compliments to the chef and staff, thank you for a brilliant meal.

Best Chinese I've had for years, no question

Ordered Chinese nearly every Friday from here, usually no problem. I am gluten free and have allergies to fish, so there is only one dish on the menu I can eat. Ordered tonight and they didn’t take the fish out. Called to complain and they offered me free prawn crackers as a token gesture? Even though I am gluten free and allergic to fish? Wouldn’t even re make my meal for me or offer me a free dish next time, even though I couldn’t eat the dish I paid £6 for this time. Won’t be eating here again.

Great friendly service. Delivery or take away. Food is always fresh and cocked while you wait... Place looks nice n clean and the door to the kitchen is open so you can see this for yourself too. Highly recommend this for all your Chinese takeaway cravings !!

We have been using this Chinese for around 12 years now. You can walk in & order, phone & collect or have it delivered. It is cash only though. The food is always lovely, fresh & very hot however you have it ordered. We have had curries, omelettes, chow meins, specialties, chicken, beef dishes, chips etc etc Always amazing food.

Golden City is THE best Chinese takeaway in Norwich! The staff have always been friendly and the food has been excellent every time. From the 'chefs specialities' to 'house special curry' & 'beef szechuan' to name but a few, the food is full of flavour, hot and large portions! I would recommend Golden City to anyone - you will not be disappointed!

Amazing food. The large spring rolls are the best I have ever had. My mouth waters at the thought of them. 1 spring roll is a meal in itself, add their fabulous curry sauce and it's heaven on a plate.

I have had many takeaway meals from this establishment and over the years depending who is running it and sure cheffing in the kitchen seems to depend on the quality and taste of the end product. Generally and above average Chinese takeaway food is reasonably tasty prices reasonable.

Estabamos alquilando en los autos y me apetecía llevar una noche. . .Son alegre y eficiente y poner nuestro orden juntos en doble rápidamente. Nos había pedido algunos crackers de gambas y yo estaba comiendo como caminamos de regreso a casa. Fueron sensacionales! Lo mejor que he probado. Fresco y precioso.Pero, por desgracia, el resto de la comida no está a la altura de principios de promesa. . .Tuve la carne chili, y fue correoso y el cã y salsa era un día - orange glo gloop. El sane gloop cubierto pelotas de pollo de mi marido (aunque las bolas eran realmente sabroso). MiL y un hijo tenía pollo en salsas de jengibre y pimienta respectivamente, y estos eran insípidas y aguada.So. . . no. Es una pena, realmente, porque el pan de gambas eran fabulosas. . .

Used this takeaway for approx 15ish years!! Just had a conversation with a "sam" basically telling us that nothing can be done about our order that had only been half sent. We offered to receive same order next Evening and return what we were delivered but unfortunately we can only be sent the amount we can return......... can anyone else see the problem????? We've decided that even after all these years using this takeaway, we feel that the attitude we received over the phone after our query leaves us more than a little nervous about eating here again! There are lots of nice Chinese takeaways in norwich now......... loyalty is not enough to eat here anymore.

Moved to Norwich eight months ago but couldn't find a decent Chinese takeaway. Read the reviews for Golden City and decided to give a go. We are not disappointed. Egg fried rice and Singapore rice noodles are exactly what we wanted. Spare ribs and sweet and sour Chicken balls are also very delicious. Will order again!

An absolutely fabulous Chinese take-away, the spare ribs with honey and Lemon were 'to die for'. The dick in pancakes was excellent. They delivered to our cottage and could not have been more helpful. Highly recommended

Vi este viaje Adivisor recomienda en llevar así marchamos su clasificación de Consejo de la ciudad de Norwich y vi les dio un 5, así que decidí probar. La comida era buena, la entrega fue rápida y me quedé contento con la calidad y la cantidad, aunque me decepcionó un poco que las setas eran un tipo y no hay hongos chinos. Tuve calamar con sal y chili, gambas y pollo chow mein satay, con un lado de champiñones. El calamar era ligeramente cocidas, pero la mayoría de los lugares pasa calamar hasta el punto de ser muy duro, que este no era. Sin duda comprar desde aquí.

Mi novio y yo Acabo de terminar (así que todavía comer!) comida para llevar de Golden City y era tan buena que necesitaba decir! acordado conjuntamente la mejor comida para llevar o chino de nosotros hemos tenido. Caliente cuando llegó, porciones generosas, carne de calidad, nada era demasiado picante, no grasa. Simplemente mmm.

Always brilliant food and always lovely & hot!! :) Crispy chicken is a must along with the very generous spring rolls! Service is good aswell. Definitely worth a try!
