Canton Chef in Chelmsford

It was my first visit here, the food was excellent and very tasty, service was quick and I'll be back.

We’ve been in the area for 7 years and have only used Canton Chef when we want a Chinese. Food always arrives quickly and is hot and delicious. We’ve ordered when guests are around and they tell us it’s the best Chinese they’ve ever had. Today I had egg fried rice, chicken curry, chips and capital spare ribs, cost was £21 and there’s enough for two people/meals.

best chinese i’ve had! i love this takeaway. the team are so nice and friendly, the food is delicious. the only thing i haven’t been too keen on is the chef’s special fried rice but lemon chicken and the fried rice with pineapple is DELICIOUS!!!

Do not go ere i got sick from food and now i know why since post on google about stste place firty beyond words rat dropping in kitchen where food cooked n open n stored poss getting in customers food

How a place can change, Food was late arriving so I rang them to ask what was happening, the guy on the phone was very rude. Will never use this place again

Moved back to this side of Chelmsford, after living in Springfield for many years, Canton chef is still one of the best Chinese takeaways in Chelmsford. Amazing food, delivered on time, see you again soon.

We love the food from here thoroughly recommend CC. They also deliver too and in under 40 mins usually. We are fussy and the meat is tender even the beef the ingredients fresh.

Hadn't ordered from here for a few years. Thought I'd give it a go. I wished I'd hadn't. Ordered chow mein, rice, crispy beef and chicken hong kong style. Food was tasteless. Rice was stuck together. Chow mein was dry. Lukewarm. So most went in the bin. Won't be ordering from here again.

What happened to my favourite Chinese take away? Take away was quite bad. Food cold. No taste to chow mein, and dry, pancake roll was raw, with hardly any filling. Sweet And sour pork usually delicious was quite tough. Took home with a bag of chips we hadn’t ordered. Hope it was an off day! Scared to try again!,,

Very bland and greasy also only luke warm so only had a little bit and rest went in bin , very dissatisfied

The best Chinese take we have ever had

I was unsure what Chinese takeaway to order from as I have been left disappointed in the past but read the reviews of others on here and thought I would try canton chef, I am glad I did because the food was really nice, was hot when it arrived and staff are very polite. I definitely will be using them again.

We have used this Chinese Takeaway for the last 2.5 years, after we had a bad experience with our previous favourite. They have never let us down, even during the dark days of Covid-19. We use them at least once a month. The food is always delicious and we've never had a bad experience. We always order too much, even thought there are 5 of us, there is always some left over. We usually spend around £65.00 which for a treat, isn't bad.

I wouldn’t give them 1 star. I am a vegetarian and very disappointed as I ordered a vegitarian chow mein and when I went to eat it there was several lumps of beef in it. Would never eat here.

Was at the Miami Hotel for a night and decide to order Chinese and call them for delivery. Service was excellent and very friendly on the phone. Food arrived on time and was very big portions with expected Hong Kong style cuisine. Well make and good prices. Will definitely call back as i'm living in CM2 area .

We have been searching for a good Chinese since moving to Chelmsford and hadn't had any luck until a few weeks ago, this is by far the best Chinese we've had and not just in the Chelmsford area, would highly recommend.
