Fantastic dinner from here. Super fast service and nice food.

2nd June 2024...a waist of £20....chicken balls soggy....tight with the beef and very chewy....overall disappointed...no prawn crackers.....prawn toast over priced and also chewy prawn inside...won't go back

First time ordering from here good size portions and excellent delivery time

Haven’t used this Chinese for a while remember why now really gone downhill. Sweet and sour prawn balls well over cooked then chips under cooked nice colour but not cooked properly. Disappointed as really used to like this Chinese they are always somehow busy guess they don’t care anymore.

Our first take away in 2024 and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Delivered nice and hot. Delivery took longer than usual but we were informed of the wait at the time of ordering.

Every time I come here the food is phenomenal and the service is brilliant. 10/10 recommendation!

DISGUSTING FOOD AND DIRTY SHOP Prawn balls were vile overcooked last week and reheated every day this week until they were sold to me. They were so hard just a shell and full of fat. When I first started cutting it I thought I would need an axe then boom it exploded and the tail of the prawn hit my plate so hard I thought it cracked it. I looked high and low for the rest of the prawn but there was only the tail which was not edible. These were like grenades and when they exploded the shrapnel flew out in all directions. They don’t belong in a Chinese takeaway as a seafood dish they should be shipped to a country in need of ammunition. As for the egg fried it was like a plate of dry cat littler no flavour good or bad just dry and the pieces of egg was like a torn up sack. The curry sauce was just over spiced instant curry which even that wasn’t up to standard. THE SHOP IS FILTHY do not sit on the chairs they are disintegrating and so many strings hanging from them you could plait a new carpet runner to cover the existing one that is covered in hairs and dust. The counter is in its survival mode being held up with sellotape in which you can see dirt under it and the money tree in the corner appears to be growing dust. I encountered this 6 hours ago and I still feel like I’m in battle I have heartburn so bad as if a grenade exploded in my chest so I’ve had to arm myself with a bucket and some gripe water as my throat and chest is burning like the great fire of London.

First time ordering from here. Food absolutely amazing. We had a massive order with lots from menu, chicken chow mein, crispy fried chilli beef, sweet and sour chicken balls, Singapore fried rice no shrimp, egg fried rice, chips and curry sauce...all tasted amazing. Would defo recommend this takeaway 👌

We just ordered sweet n sour prawn balls they are the worse we have tasted, this shop is hit n miss we know that, but today's is a massive definite miss we will never order from them again, the balls are like crisps the standard of food is very poor, they just want our money but can't be bothered to cook properly

Decent Chinese takeaway. Nothing crazy, but a good meal when your wanting something quick and tasty 😋 I particularly like the Singapore rice noodles and they are always very consistent to my liking! ☺️

The food is always great from China Palace. The prices have gone up slightly in the last year (like most places really), but the quality of the food is really good.

I only had 1 dish but it was very nice and cooked exactly as i asked (no veg).

Nice chicken dishes but hot sour soup was far to hot even when I asked for mild. It's the third time now I've had to leave it, shame

Really terrible service. I can appreciate they are busy of a Saturday night but it took over 200 calls to finally get through, to then be told ‘please wait’ as the phone was answered, this was fine and we waited a few minutes, a gentleman then picked up and started taking our order only to cut us off! Now giving them the benefit of the doubt, we waited for them to call us back in case this was a mistake or even a technical difficulty but they didn’t even have the courtesy to do that! We called for over half an hour trying to get though and that’s how you’re treated when they answer. Won’t bother coming here again. Fortunately as a result we discovered another Chinese who will be getting our weekly family order from now on!

I've been going to China Palace since I was a child and food is consistently delicious, has good service and is quite quick at getting food put to people

We ordered our food at 5pm the take away read back the order, called after 1hr 15mins to be told it was on its way. It then turned up items missing luke warm. When we called to tell them all she kept saying was i didnt charge u for the curry sauce. Then said she would send the missing items on the next delivery within 30mins. Guess what no items arrived we called to say dont bother she replied ok then. Well we paid for items we didnt recieve abd food that wasnt even hot. I use this chinese often and will now never be using it again totally based the the attitude and lack of service.

Always good.... this creates a problem.... it’s always busy... 150 tries at calling them on a Saturday night... please get another number! But stick with it... best in area!!!

Yes ok the phone line was busy and yes bit of a wait for delivery but surely the phone line being constantly busy you know it’s going to be good! Best Chinese around and will never go anywhere else!!!! Food piping hot and tastes sooooo good! fab value for money portions are massive aswell!!!! Keep going guys your doing an incredible job!!!

We’ve just had the tastiest meal!! We ordered Vegetable Spring Rolls, Crispy Chilli Beef, Kung Po Chicken, Egg Fried Rice, Singapore Noodles and Pork Balls in Batter. All dishes were DELICIOUS. China Palace you get a thoroughly deserved 10/10 👏

I personally wouldn't go anywhere else. Consistently good food and generous portion sizes. Great value.

The food is good and the staff are friendly

Always lovely food here however tonight ordered crispy beef (no beef just batter) in a sweet sauce, satay chicken very runny inedible, chow mien was nice and prawn crackers. Beef in black bean was over flavoured (made up for the rest but too rich) and the beef was very fatty, always usually get lovely food here but very disappointed tonight.

We had our first delivery from here last night and the food was absolutely amazing! Everything was so tasty, well cooked and lovely quality. The guy who took my order over the phone was really helpful and very pleasant, as was the delivery driver. China Palace will definitely be our choice from now on!

We’ve just had our first takeaway during lockdown, very good service, and great food. We had the mixed starters, duck pancakes, chilli beef, stir fried bean shoots and special fried rice. We really enjoyed our food.

I had a takeaway delivered on Saturday 29th. The mixed starters included tough ribs,prawn toasts that had been so well cooked they had a strange after taste and spring rolls that were hard. The prawn balls were hard and again inedible. £25 of disappointing food

My favourite Chinese take away, good value for money, good range of dishes to suit every taste buds, staff are wonderful, friendly, always have a smile on their faces. The owners are lovely. Always ask me how are you.

Tried this Chinese for the first time this afternoon, served by lovely lady, and my dish, sweet and sour chicken balls and special fried rice was excellent.

This honestly is without a doubt, the best Chinese I've had ever. Never had a bad meal no matter the day or time of the week ordered. Food is always bursting with flavour and it's always ready on time. Cannot recommend enough!!!

Lost our custom. Prices kept changing when we called and having ordered the same order every week for years we noticed prices had drastically gone up - by £6 for 2 people, questioned them on this and they said prices had all been put up - checked against the menu we got only a couple of weeks ago and every single item including sauces had gone up by 60p. Called the Chinese around the corner and saved £8 compared to the price quoted here!!! That’s 1/3 of our whole meal! Makes a big difference when you get a Chinese once or twice a week!!! Goodbye china palace and your rude staff.

Ordered a delivery on a Sunday for a family meal. Delivery came within 15 minutes, exactly as we’d been told. On arrival food was nice and hot, and everything was cooked well..... A very enjoyable meal for a family get together

This was by far the most delicious chinese food i have ever tasted (and my dad is a chef from Hong Kong )!! The service was amazing and we didn't have to wait very long for our food. I would definatley recommend anyone to go and try their duck dishes! DELICIOUS +++++5 star all the way!

Use China palace a fair amount, after picking up our meal and returning home found a clump ( or something similar) of hair in our chicken balls..needless to say we didn't order the deep fried hair. Meal returned and won't use again....

Esta es nuestra comida para llevar local y la comida aquí es la mejor comida china que hemos experimentado en el área local. Siempre es muy buena y deliciosa, sin embargo, el personal es simplemente horrible. Los dos miembros del personal joven inglés son preciosas pero llegar grita mucho por los chinos que trabajan allí. En muchas ocasiones la orden de comida ha sido equivocada y la señora china hemos topado ha sido completamente incompetente y grosero. Ella nos echaron como cliente a pesar de que teníamos un recibo para demostrar que fue su error y sin embargo en vez de rectificar el problema profesionalmente que argumentó y nos echaron. Dos veces también hemos tenido la comida a domicilio que cobrar más en la puerta de lo que había avisado por teléfono después de 'olvidar para agregar un elemento en 'a pesar de que había hecho una lectura de atrás de todos los artículos. Es una pena, ya que tenemos 1 / 2 llevar una semana desde aquí porque es sabroso, pero el personal chino necesita algunas lecciones en servicio al cliente.

Terrible customer service. Waited half an hour for a small order, people coming in and getting served, kept asking how long for my order before they told me there was some kind of mix up, 2nd time this has happened recently, won't be using them anymore, how not to treat customers.

Group order placed for 8 of us on Chinese New year. Delivered within half hour of being ordered. The 2 mains I had and sides were decent. Lots of meat and steaming hot on delivery. Everyone else enjoyed there's too. Will use again

I have been using this Chinese for 20 years and have never had a bad meal, the staff are very friendly and their delivery driver is very polite and has become a friend I would recommend this takeaway to anyone who appreciates good Chinese food

Myself and my husband order from this takeaway around 1-2 per month. Our food is always delivered really quickly and the guy that delivers is always very friendly.Food is delicious, we have never had a bad meal and have been using China Palace for around 3 years. Food is always hot and the are so generous with portions. I would never order from anywhere else.

We've used the China Palace for years, there has been little change here, the food is normally tasty and freshly cooked.The only downside recently is the chicken that is a little rubbery, but I don't see this as a real issue, just needs cooking a little longer.

This is our local Chinese,usually just go in and order and you don't have to wait too long. Very polite staff, always friendly. Food is fab

A couple of years ago when this place was run by orientals, it was great..fat prawn toast with loads of prawns, tasty chilli beef and yummy shredded duck. Last night was the first time we went back and I cannot believe how rubbish it was! The prawn toast was hard and dry with no prawns, the satay chicken had no peanut sauce, just a bit of congealed gravy and we fancied chips as an afterthought! They were dried up and chewy...not fit for human consumption and even my dog rejected the one I offered her!!!!Save your money and go somewhere else...ANYWHERE else would be a 100% improvement!!! Needless to say, it will be a cold day in hell before we return!!!!!

Use them a lot and have never had a problem except 'spicy' often isn't enough but that's probably my palete - I love Indian too!! I do ask them to pep it up but think maybe they worry it will be too hot!! I love their dry ribs too and special fried rice!! Eldest daughter swears by crispy chilli beef and they specially prepare Singapore noodle for my wife but leaving ingredients out for her!!Can't say too much on the ants review but possible that could have occurred elsewhere - they do have a 5 star rating!!Jolly, cheerful delivery man who earns his money for sure!!

Have been using the Palace for a good time now, overall the food is good, the dry spicy ribs are classic. Recently my order has been forgotten twice and I've waited forty minutes or so and last week I was overcharged some £9.00, I ordered different food and had forgotten my glasses so I couldn't check at the time, I have returned with the order number but told no records were kept and nothing could be done, disappointed.

We come here regularly but I have started to question their hygiene standards here. They offer complimentary lollies while people wait, for the second time I found dead ants in the lolly. While I understand this isn't directly to do with the Chinese food here, it does raise questions about their hygiene standards. The fruity pops branded lollies are widely sold and I have never had ants in my lollies elsewhere, this therefore leads me to believe that it must be down to the storage of these lollies at this particular takeaway. Once I would understand, but this is the second time, and I have uploaded a photo which clearly shows the 2 dead ants in the lolly.There are also far better Chinese takeaways around than here. They are overpriced, and not the best flavour. Not to mention, clearly poor hygiene standards.
