Siam Wok in Chelmsford

See picture for the cold rubber things that should be fishcakes horrid burnt flat spring rolls. Chicken satay along with everything was cold. £40 for takeaway for 2 expect much more.

Really great food, good price, will definitely visit again. We had walked out of a neighbouring restaurant minutes earlier due to terrible service, Siam Wok was the exact opposite.

Visited Chelmsford recently with a group of friends and thought we’d try this place and oh my the food was fantastic. What We loved was the fact that’s it’s authentic food. They make it all up themselves. I know my food and this place is brilliant and it’s obvious the chefs know how to cook. Staff friendly and amazing and the price of the food was extremely reasonable. When I visit Chelmsford I will be returning and the friends we stayed with in Chelmsford will be making regular take way orders from now on.

I love Thia food and this is the real deal. Can't believe the reasonable prices too. Easy to order online or if feeling hungry after getting off the train, it's only just across the road from Chelsford Station. Staff are lovely too and they prepare the food all from scratch - wow! If you have never tried Thia food before then give this place a go as I am sure you won't be disappointed.

Amazing meal, all freshly prepared. Wonderful staff and lovely pleasing atmosphere. Travelled from Southampton for meal, well worth the effort.

I usually order the vegan meal which is tofu sweet chili in cashews and it's truly the best I ever had, the vegetables are also well cooked and crunchy and provides me with the needed energy for my work. It's a very well family run business and the white guy at the counter is super polite along with his daughter. Thanks for keeping me occupied with a a stimulating conversation while my food was being prepared. If your a vegan i would definitely recommend this place to you for a quick delicious protein fix. Thank u guys

Went for the first time recently on a Sunday and had some wonderful fresh fish which was seasoned to perfection. The meal was delightful and would definitely recommend.

After a couple of beers me and my friends didn’t fancy the usual kebab or chicken or chips and then we saw this place good job very well cooked tasted fantastic right amount of heat when needed really enjoyable. staff are friendly and courtesy. Most of all the food was absolutely delicious . No complaints.

We drove from Upminster one our first visit it was well worth the drive the food is spot on. Our second visit we had a delivery yes all the way to Upminster sign of a good food establishment keeping the customer happy the food again was top notch definitely one of the best we’ve had a 5⭐️ Without a doubt

Visiting Chelmsford and feeling hungry.Thought I would try this small family run restaurant. .From the moment I walked through the door I got friendly fabulous service .The restaurant has a few well appointed tables to eat in but the restaurant also has a busy takeaway service.I was impressed both with the wide choice of dishes and the value for money. I have eaten Thai food a many restaurants including the two in my local town of Hornchurch. The food I from Sian Wok was so tasty and is now my firm favourite.

Ever since the new owners (I believe since last year) the food has been astonishing! I order at least once a week. The service is great, quality of food is great and they deliver on time.

Had an amazing thai red curry here, wasn't toned down on the heat like some places and was full of flavour! Served at the takeout counter within 5 minutes on a Saturday night (on the first weekend after lockdown as well!), cutlery being provided. Paid £10.50 for the curry and a jasmine rice which given the quality was overall very satisfied!

Absolutely love this food, plenty of it and all dishes are tasty. When we need a treat, we always go Siam Wok Already looking forward to next time . Friendly service too.

Just ordered second takeaway of the weekend, myself and my wife can honestly not get enough of this food. In all the dishes I've had meat is plentiful and melts in the mouth. Veg fresh and crisp. Delivery brilliant and friendly service.

We rarely have take aways but with Siam Wok, we make an exception. It is delicious food liked by us all in the family. A right treat . Service is great and friendly - we can highly recommend this if you like quality food

ive been using Siam wok for years and have always had first class food and service, so i was a little apprehensive to learn of the old chef retiring, so gave them a try this last weekend, all i can say is WOW im very happy same high standards of food and service, but my particular wow was for the hand made vegetarian spring roles excellent

Friendly staff ,,, super quick delivery and the tastiest Thai I have eaten in a very long time . Even during this time of trouble the delivery was punctual and professional... will be eating from there again

Came in for a curry and pad Thai with some fried rice. Was so tasty, the best Thai food I’ve had in a long time. Really good customer service also.

I have been coming here for years and they are now under new management which I must say, I prefer it that way. The food is much more tastier, better quality and the customer service is brilliant. New owners are lovely.

Under new management.. Was easily one of the best takeaways in Chelmsford. Food arrived fairly quick, but was way below standard. I've never felt the need to leave a review, ever. But please do not eat here. Tofu red curry was average, lacked vegetables, no peas and chewy tofu. Satay sauce was cold, calamari was tough & rubbery which also came with no sweet chilli sauce. Called up about this and we was brought what appeared to be sweet & sour sauce. Couldn't eat the stir fried noodles due to the texture. Prawn crackers and beer were good though. Time to find a new Thai!

Me and my friends have sat in for lunch quite a few times and the food has been amazing. It is under new management so they have new chefs and they really are great. The customer service is also lovely. Really recommend this place for Thai Food.

New management, new chef, new authentic taste of Thai food with Reasonable Price. There are lot of more choice from the normalMenu. They are open 7 days a week, from 11;00 am Monday to Friday and 2:00pm Saturday and Sunday. There must be one day you could make your way over. Come and try! And you willLove it!

As always 100% spot, ordered for the family New Year’s Day, ordered direct online, food was on time, hot and tasty, oh and free bottle wine thrown in as a Happy new year 🥳 thanks Siam wok.

We ordered a delivery. Actually arrived in good time but...... the food is appalling. Ordered the mixed starter. The prawn toasts were very oily. The main issue was, however, with the main courses. My sticky rice had black hairs in it. When I phoned to complain I was told it ‘wasn’t possible’ as the rice came pre packaged. The girl I spoke to had to keep referring to someone. I could hear exactly what she said. Very unprofessional. I was eventually offered £5 off my next order. Given the rice was £3.50, £1.50 for a meal with rice I wouldn’t eat didn’t seem generous. We will not be ordering again! The tofu was inedible and rubbery. The Thai Green Curry had very little taste and was far from spicy. The chicken Massaman Curry was tasteless. Overall, a complete waste of money.

I previously hadn’t used this take away as didn’t realise you could order online and have it delivered to your house, the food is amazing it’s very reasonably priced and decent portions. Lots of flavours. Thanks for the free spring rolls! I had the Thai king prawn curry with coconut rice it was amazing!

Ordered a massaman curry, house special noodles and fried rice to take away. The noodles and curry were quite a bit spicy-hotter than expected but we persisted as we were hungry. Otherwise, I would have given Siam Wok four stars.

This is the takeout version of the Siam Cottage in Moulsham St . Food not as good but that said difficult to achieve for a takeout .

Placed a large order for our New Year’s Eve party, order was delivered spot on the time requested, which we were all impressed with for news years Eve, all the dishes were spot on, good level of spice, over all very impressed with the service, portions and in oat I just price.

Just returned from London popped into Siam wok, right next to train station. Good food, well priced, staff friendly. Would recommend.

The thing that struck me the most was the portion size. They were great! Good range of dishes. We sat in and left feeling very full. Food was cooked fresh and fast.

The jasmine rice was not that fresh and the green curry had cheap over cooked chicken. It did have a decent spice level.

If you don't like Thai spices it's best to avoid this place but otherwise it's excellent. Great noodles dishes. Staff cook with big fires and woks and know their stuff. Thai cooks. Really excellent food but if you don't like hot dishes with spice then it may be too much.

Ordered a delivery from here for the first time tonight and it’s safe to say it won’t be long before we order another! The food was delicious! My yellow king prawn curry was yummy! Can highly recommend the jungle curry, veg spring rolls, and chicken pad Thai too! Food tasted freshly cooked and was piping hot upon delivery.

Ordered a thai takeaway from here and was really impressed with the flavour of the food. The beef massaman curry and the sweetcorn fritters were particularly good. Made a nice change from the usual Indian or Chinese takeaway.

This is the only place me & my husband get takeaway from in Chelmsford. Aside from it being super delicious & giving you large portions with lots of meat, I'm a sensitive bunny when it comes to allergies. They don't use MSG & I always specify that i'm allergic to shellfish & I have not had a single reaction! I'm finding that this is super rare & really difficult to find as even when I specify these things to restaurants I often end up having a full body reaction usually because of cross contamination with the prep of the food & quite often it's anything that's been deep fried such as spring rolls that have been cooked in the same oil as prawns etc. I've never had this from Siam Wok so I hope they stick around for a long time! Highly recommend the Beef Massaman curry & coconut & jasmine rice =D

Close to the station and bus station this unassuming take away is a great find. You can order online, by phone or walk in. Special dietary requirements? No problem as everything is cooked from fresh. Portions are generous (we got free mini veggie rolls). Food delicious. And you'll get a friendly service too. The only problem is that you won't be able to resist popping back!!! Visited three times in the last four weeks. Recommend Massaman curry, Pad Thai and green curry. Veggie options available for most dishes.

Tasty take away, and delivered in half the time we were expecting for a Friday night, which was great! Would recommend.

We used to spend around £50 on our orders with this takeaway.....however never again!!!!!

Hemos tenido esta encantadora comida entregado dos veces en las últimas semanas semanas y las comidas eran consistentemente sabrosa y llena de sabor. Nuestros favoritos son el curry verde y rojo, pero el Tailandés pah está allí también. La última noche tuvimos una variedad de otros platos que eran excelentes, y tengo que decir que nuestro arroz pegajoso era perfecto. El personal es muy amable. We've been ordering our Thai takeaways from Siam Wok for years now, but the last two that we've had have arrived with the rice in airtight plastic bags within the normal plastic boxes, and it is clear that this rice has been microwaved for so long that it has turned into one hard lump of rice which we couldn't even get a fork into. Totally inedible. Surely getting the rice right has got to be a basic requirement for a Thai takeaway. Needless to say, won't be using them again.

Mi pareja y me encanta la comida tailandesa y el Siam Wok ofrece excelente comida cada vez. El pad thai de Pollo y Fideos borrachos son nuestros favoritos, sabrosa y abundante. El Siam Wok nunca decepciona.

Satay y pato rollitos de primavera para empezar ambas excelentes, curry y carne en salsa de ostras para platos principales encantador y pad tailandés y fideos borrachos por los lados. Realmente encantador, la comida bien preparada. Grandes porciones y amable personal. No estaba seguro sobre qué pedir, pero el personal nos recomendó varios sabrosos platos. Las costillas son las mejores costillas que he tenido. El único aspecto negativo es que se trata de una toma de distancia con capacidad muy limitada

Food is tasty and hot, made fresh to order. Delivery can be a while if it's a busy weekend, but that's a minor! Does good lunches too!

The chicken yellow curry is the best meal you can find in Chelmsford. The room is quite shoddy and there's a draft, and no proper cutlery or tablecloths. I think that's part of the charm though. In fact, all the meals on the lunchtime menu are great. Flavoursome, spicy, meaty curries and saucy rice dishes.

A reliable meal. Mixed starter. Pleasant duck dish for main...plenty of duck but Thai green curry lacking in meat quantity. Service could have been more attentive but no gripes the taste was excellent.

We have regular take aways from Siam Wok. Great food and pleasant service. Very helpful as always undecided on what to have.

Had takeaway from this place many times. It's delicious, would recommend any of the yellow curries, and Weeping Tiger. Makes a nice change from the standard Chinese and Indian takeaways.

I just went to Siam wok for lunch today for the first time even though I had passed it numerous times. I ordered yellow curry with chicken from the lunch set meal. I have to say it was surprisingly good and tasty. The curry sauce was very different from the generic curry from Chinese. It was creamy rich and fully of flavour. For £5.50, I was given a bottled drink and a plate of rice and a bowl of curry, very reasonable priced! I was surprised seeing so many negative reviews, especially the comments about tasteless food. I don't think the little restaurant has been fairly judged.

The food was cold when it arrived, stale and tasteless and certainly not a good value for money. We will definitely not order again unless we run out of other options in Chelmsford.

In December 2015 I had some issues with my order. I called and tried to resolve with them but the gentleman was incredibly rude. I wanted a refund but didn't want to give it to me. The offered me two £5 vouchers but did not tell me I would need to use within 3weeks and order double want I usually order to redeem. I found out today when I tried to make an order to redeem the vouchers. Avoid this place like the plague!

Very oily and generally tastefree. I would go in again only if I don't have any other option on my way back home.

I love this place... we've been ordering regularly for years. However over the last sixth months the lamb has often been tougher than it used to be, the green curry can be hit and miss, the calamari can be bland. I was prepared tp forgive all this but I too found a hair in my food - a short black one. Put me right off. Shame. if consistency and care could be resumed, this often fantastic tasting food would be unbeatable.

I ordered from Siam last night and found long black hairs in more than one dish, I called the restaurant & the person on the phone seemed too think it was funny laughing and not taking the issue seriously, would on credit us £9.00 for future orders and wouldn't refund us the full £45.00!!

This was the first time we had ordered from Siam and we will again. The waiting time was short, and the food was nice. We had a selection of dishes including the Tom Yung Gong. The only slightly disappointing element was the free bag of Thai crackers. It only held around 10 crackers, which was certainly not sufficient for 6 of us. Although we were warned on the phone so had ordered another large bag.Good little place.

Look, Siam Wok is not a restaurant... Its primarily a take-away but has a couple of tables in the front of the shop which the proprietors are happy to serve food to. We dived in there with a couple of friends for a quick bite before catching a train from Chelmsford station, which is 50 yards away. What a pleasant surprise! The owners/chefs are a delightful Thai mother and son team and cook everything fresh to order, using authentic ingredients. We shared, Tom Yum seafood soup, Phad Karpow, Nam prik prow, a Beef salad and a noodle dish. The portion sizes were generous and the food, served piping hot, was extremely tasty every bit the real thing and a lot more than we had expected from the humble façade - it would give any of the towns Thai restaurants a run for their money!! the cost for 4 very full people a mere £35.. That's amazing price performance, thanks!

Ive been asked to leave a review on this site by the owner of Siam Wok, I have been eating here two or three times a week for years.I have always found the food and the staff excellent, I was in the shop myself about 730pm on Saturaday the 13th, The two Thai chefs were cooking and the girl was frying, packing, answering the phone, dealing with myself :) and other counter customers, oh and responding to orders on the computor.As they finnished cooking the drivers were back collecting the orders.I think the two individuals below are well out of order to go on a public forum to slag off a local independant business, not for the quality of their food (which is first class) but because they were extreamly busy due to staff sickness, maybe if your so clever you should get off your back sides and go and have a go at what the girl was doing.All I can say is well done Siam Wok and pathetic to the two individuals below

My wife ordered from this takeaway last week and was pleasantly surprised that the food was (half) decent. We decided to have dinner here tonight ( Saturday) and ordered online at 7.15 pm. We received an update email at 8.09pm that due to being very busy our food had been delayed and was being cooked now. This reassured is that things were in motion so when nothing had arrived by 8.55 we were a little worried and quite a bit hungry. I phoned up and was firstly left on hold for 10 minutes waiting for the manager and then told they had not even STARTED cooking. This was 1 hour and 40 minutes after ordering!!!! No explanation was given let alone an apology. Do order you dinner from these people if you want however I hope you are not hungry at the time and be prepared for a long wait....

Been getting a take away from these guys for a while and have always been pleased with the food. However tonight it was awful..One dish was inedible due to large lumps of some sort of jelly that made it taste awful! The free crackers were missed also even though we spent £24 on what can only be described as a disappointing dinner. Will not be ordering again.

Around 18 months ago, I used to come here every Sunday night to close out the weekend. I was very excited to come here again, but that was quickly ruined.1. The menu isn't the same quantities.I used to get the 59A seafood pad talay. It was always the same: 5 king prawns, 2 seafood sticks and 2 mussels. Every single week it was the same and as one of the more expensive items at £7, that was fine.So when I ordered it last week, I was surprised and disappointed that the seafood sticks are gone and it was only 3 prawns and 1 mussel. For £7 takeaway in Chelmsford, that is not a good value.2. It's not good value overall anymore. :(I am so disappointed as it used to be a lovely place with super food! Instead, as I ordered my meal and asked for boiled rice for 1 (takeaway), the lady wrote down 3.50. Seriously? I told her to remove that as it didn't used to cost that and it's only boiled rice for 1 person?!?I used to love this place and I'm very disappointed, not sure what happened if they got new owners or whatever.I won't be coming back in the near future, and it's a pity as my (way overpriced) pad talay had the same lovely sauce as always. I'm just not happy with what I got for my money. In Chelmsford you can do better and I would encourage you to do so. I just wish this wasn't my recommendation. :(

Ordered chicken fried rice and prawn fried rice. While there was a generous amount of chicken there was only 4 (four) prawns in my portion. Mean while the price of prawn fried rice is £5. Not happy at all.
