Jesus the Chinese takeaways in chelmsford are poor, and this one must be very close to the bottom of the list, which is weird because it used to be.... okay, just okay. Decided to order from here again and it's like they decided to cook my beef dish in the puddle at the front of the shop. The sauce was soo runny it may as well have just been water.... well it was just water, muddy brown, tasteless water. Pic as proof. Boiled beef, boiled mushrooms, boiled onions. Revolting. Why not take some pride in your food, maybe you'll get returning customers. Never again, save your money. You're better off eating poor Chinese microwave meals from a supermarket. They're awful too but at least they're cheaper. Yet another terrible chinese restaurant in Chelmsford.

The food hasn’t been good here for a while, it tastes like all of the fried food has been cooked in old oil. We promised ourselves not to order again and this will be the last time. A complete waste of money.

Sorry but was awful , really not sure if it was beef , needs to go to a lab to see what it was , salt and pepper chips ??? Just chips with some onion and carrots total waste of money

Awful avoid food was terrible 1/4 duck cake shredded with no meat fat and skin only, noodles where cold. when I called the restaurant the lady said if I don’t like it don’t come back. Disgusting don’t waste your money

Have been ordering our Chinese from Edan Garden for years. never had an issue. always hot always good quality and plenty of food

Was a little disappointed with my recent order, was not as high quality as I am used to from Eden Garden. The prawns were powdery, the chicken wasn’t nice and the chow neon didn’t feel as freshly cooked. I’m normally a huge fan of this takeaway and hope this is a 1 off

So disappointed! The chow mein was greasy, the prawns overcooked and the squid soggy. when you're paying nearly fifty quid for two people to eat... this really wasn't good enough. Sorry to say that we won't be ordering from them again :(

Great taste for the price! Ordered some fried rice, pork ribs and some veggies . Good portion for the price and it came hot

Everything was dry, chips had been reheated,, not got what ordered,no labels on dishes to let us know what was in boxes, most disappointed, will not reorder

I used to always order from here, but it’s gone down hill massively, I ordered a takeout and the food smelt off instantly when removing the lid an absolute horrible stench. I rang them and they had to deliver another one which by that point the whole family was put off! I have to say, either they have changed a chef or they just don’t care enough about the customers anymore. Such a shame. Won’t be ordering anymore.

It was a takeaway, not dine . Food was good. It arrived early but was not as hot as I expected. Maybe it was the delivery to Great Baddow.

I was staying in the local area on a business trip. Found this takeaway on an online search and glad I did. Food was excellent, piping hot and tasted great. I went twice and both times tge food was excellent. Maybe a little bit pricey but very good food

Tried a number of takeaways in Chelmsford and this is our favourite by far. Food is consistently good and never disappoints.

My family got a takeaway from here last night and on the phone confirmed our order which included a bottle of drink. Went to pick it up and the lady who worked there refused to give us a drink, instead insisted that she gave us prawn crackers for free... (this has always been the case). On top of this the price was extortionate and not worth it. We were definitely charged for things we ordered but were not given. Will never go here again, was clearly ripped off.

Normally go to for Chinese but pre ordered NYE knowing it would be busy turned up over an hour late & if I didn't call probably wouldn't of turned up at all. Very disappointed wont be using again

Great food large selection. They were snowed under New year's Eve with orders, but normally very good.

Food was so greasy! It took two hours to come, was stone cold and soggy. Waste of money.

I found them by using my google maps. app, the reviewers helped me decide as I'm not from these parts. I called through, whilst en route and collected freshly prepared food. When I got there, the staff were lovely and friendly; the food freshly prepared and tasty; the restaurant clean and hygenic, plus I was able to park outside. I loved the hot pepper sliced added to the Singapore Rice Noodles, one of my faves - and pepper slices aren't something I usually find in the London restaurants I frequent. So, when I'm next in Chelmsford I'll give 'em another go. A billion times better than McDonald's, f'sure.

Unfortunately I did not enjoy this takeaway at all. I feel it was poor quality for the price. Chips were very dry and the prawn toast was also extremely dry and overcooked (almost burnt at the bottom). The mushroom chow mein was far too oily and tasteless. Sadly, the only mildy enjoyable dish was the crispy seaweed. Also, when I asked the driver why he delivered the order 35 minutes before my requested time, he told me that this was 'not on the instruction sheet'. So, for the above reasons, I will not be ordering again.

Be wary of this terrible take out with rude manager / owner who failed to take responsibility for a promised delivery saying our address didn’t exist and that I should come back into the shop to collect the order after having already been there to place the order. Notable to wait I was promised home delivery as an alternative. Rude obnoxious manager /owner. Avoid !

First time ordered from Eden Garden. Dishes were full of flavour and ingredients were definatley fresh and cooked to order. Best Chinese food we have eaten and will use Eden Garden from now on in the future. Delivery was on time and food was hot.. Thank you for a lovely meal.

Lazy Saturday and bought a takeaway from this shop - first time ever purchased here. I was not impressed. Over priced for what we had - in region of £60!!! For 4 people. Amongst the dishes purchased we had duck and pancakes - the pancakes were totally stuck together and the hoisin sauce was just liquid with no substance. The beef in the dishes was just a tasteless soggy something. The sweet and sour dishes were more crunchy batter than anything else . I am a great eater but I just couldn’t eat this. Will not go again - may have been a bad night for them - did take ages to get the food - but no excuse for the quality especially at the cost !

Without doubt the best Chinese in Chelmsford for takeaway. Great food. Don’t waste your time looking at others. Very friendly waitress and excellent service always. 10/10 food

Been here loads of times and it just great , Love the sweet and sour king prawn balls alway hot and crispy and the special curry is great with prawns and chicken and beef and pork . The staff are alway friendly easy parking at night can order via phone

I've know about and used this takeaway for some years now. The food has always been to an exceptionally high standard. Unlike the usual Chinese Resturant's and takeaways, the Eden Garden doesn't cook with excessive salt and uses NO msg at all. I have a mild gluten intolerance and the food always agrees with me fine. So the result is good food, with all the flavours and all at a very good price. They have now started opening for lunches, with a special lunchtime menu which includes a full meal in a special lunchtime dish, a side order of either spring roll or seaweed & and a soft drink, all for £5.95. This takeaway is well worth the walk up Moulsham street. I highly recommend them.

Trying to find a new Chinese takeaway and so glad we went with Eden Garden. Great prices and offers. Ordered on a Saturday night and was told 45 mins for delivery. Everything arrived in 30 minute, piping hot and friendly delivery too! Can't wait to order from again.
