We went here as a party of eight for a birthday meal. The restaurant was very quiet as it was midweek, but this didn't make our experience any worse. The staff were friendly, helpful and patient. Each course arrived quickly and was delicious and, despite us thinking we'd ordered too much, we managed to eat just about everything 😉 The takeaway here is incredibly quick and the food delicious, so if you've not time to eat in, grab a takeaway and you'll not regret it!

The food was incredible, and the ambiance was lovely. They were kind enough to provide us with a table by the heater in the winter, which was perfect for my elderly parents. Kiki and Divya provided exceptional service. We are incredibly grateful to them for making it a special birthday dinner.

After reading a few negative reviews we were unsure whether to visit. However, after a days racing in York we returned to newark and decided to see for ourselves. We weren’t booked but were welcomed and shown to a table, there were plenty of other diners and the atmosphere was good. We opted for a set meal, all of which was excellent. Great service from young, pleasant staff made for a very enjoyable experience. We will no doubt be visiting again in the near future.

I was live-in bar/cellar man in this pub in the early 90s.Kings Cross was a dangerous area then but The Swan was a decent pub with meals for the surrounding office workers. Just on Regents Canal. Coming from Ireland I thought it was great that workers were allowed to go for a couple of pints at lunchtime. I was in my early 20s and a good time to be in London. There was a Spanish bar-restaurant in Pentonville Rd and Filthy ManNasty’s up in Amwell St and Minogue’s Liverpool St. Walking up Chapel St Market to Upper St Angel. The 90s the good old days 😀

Our table was booked for 7.15. We waited for 30 minutes and kept being told ready in a minute. The restaurant was not busy, but we had to wait for the previous diners to leave ‘our table’. They had long finished eating. The staff were very curt and one was down right rude by sneering at me, at which point we left. This place is more of a takeaway than a restaurant. NEVER going back

The girls inside were very polite but at the same gossiping between themselves indiscreetly. We picked take away. Didn’t wait long. However, the sweet and sour was glow in the dark type of ridiculous, tasteless non food. The rice just tasted weird. The chow main leaking oil, etc. It all went to the bin. Pleasant enough place but do not recommend the food if you’re looking for edible.
