Fown Lin in Lichfield

I have been using this takeaway, for over 35 years, years ago the food was the best in the area, The previous owners, could really cook it's been taken over ,some years ago , but it is still fairly good, best beef curry and ribs, always enjoyed the food.

Ordered Vegetable Chow Mein take away for New Year lunch, received chicken and prawns Chow Mein, not good if you are a vegetarian!!

Had a delivery as per normal , cannot believe there was a big hair in the wife's dinner, really caused an issue of eating the meal. Which didn't happen .. even making issues worse...carnt do nothing once their closed ... eat at normal early times where you may be able to complain 🤔

Shame they don't have a card facility but 5* food, service and cleanliness.

Worst food I have eaten in years spare ribs where burnt , rice was a blob of mess all went in the bin will never eat there again

Only Chinese in burntwood that doesn’t use packet mix curry sauce, curry & sweet and sour sauce master in the kitchen. Beautiful👍🏽

Local takeaway have used Fown Lin for 20+ years good value, freshly cooked food, fast service. High standards never had any upset tums from a meal from here, highly recommended.

My favourite Chinese!! They do the best ribs!! The best flavoured sauces, big portions and super friendly staff.

Just to give everybody a heads up to avoid fown Lin. Have used them for 20 plus years on and off. Great food, but the service! Unbelievable. For the third time tonight they have missed a dish off. Wouldn’t send it out as previously. I had to go and get my sons meal when I had finished. To make matters worse I went out to my car having kept my cool to check and find no curry sauce. No point in answering the phone if you can’t grasp English. Disgusting. Avoid at all costs.

Just had 1st delivered chinese today from fown lin absolutedly top notch,prompt delivery at time given ,good portions but most of all hot good food thanks.

Excellent portions and on time delivery. The food from these guys is like clockwork, its always what you expect. Which means tasty with deep flavour.

***update*** I have since had a bean curd curry (Tofu) and it has become my favourite, I have all the vegetables added in with it as you’d get in a special curry, it’s amazing! Made to order! ☺️ Thankyou! When I saw that they did a few options on the menu for vegetarians with bean curd my hopes were up as there doesn’t seem to be many appetising choices locally if you want more than just vegetables. However.... after confirmation that they did bean curd dishes, they were not able to do a bean curd curry! Disgraceful really and hugely disappointing! Why should vegetarians have to miss out on nice food?

The lady answering the phone was nasty upon asking for no veg. Completely uncalled for, the food is great, but the service is terrible.

Food has always been decent however tonite they made a mistake in what we ordered then tried to say we made the mistake. They eventually admitted they were wrong but we won't be going back

Excellent Chinese takeaway, ,ideal for me as when the fancy arises only 5 mins away, so frequent visitor, all the usual menu available,quick service, and the lowest prices I have found locally Pleasant staff, fairly small reception but if busy I don't mind standing you can pre order by telephone,I don't bother though,closed Mondays which is a pity but I suppose everyone Needs a day off.

Bad service as the lady at the counter that served us ended up shouting the difference between a chicken curry and a chicken satay dish at me. This was entirely uncalled for and I was made to feel really uncomfortable. When I finally finished my order I got out my card to pay to then be told they only take cash payments. This was not displayed anywhere and I would have liked to have been made aware of this before ordering as I didn’t have any cash on me.

Bland way too much salt. over powering chilli and little else taste wise

First visit+last! Beef chow mein, hardly any bean sprouts,mainly noodles. Chips dry+tasteless, egg fried rice, no egg visible, unappetising colour. Beef in black bean sauce,passable. Prawn crackers very greasy.

Either people dont read food hygiene or dnt care In Feb they were given a 1 star food hygiene.Disgusting.Also people saying been using here for 20 years plus,but the owners arent the same as was back then these just kept name as original Fown Lin

A Great Curry that is fresh and lovely to eat. Very Cheap Food. Easy to order. No problems with ordering extra items and ordering special flavourings to the food. I prefer hot curries and the Chef is able to easily make the curry extra hot with the fresh taste throughout. FREE parking outside and plenty of spaces.

I don’t get to eat from here as much as I’d like due to moving from the area. But this has to be one of the better takeaways in the area. Curry has a nice spice to it while not being over powering. Chicken friend rice is amazing along with the lemon chicken. Great menu, very well priced and a delight for anyone who likes a nice Chinese takeout.

Food arrived 5 minutes after ordering! Smelt funny! I was sick! Rang up to Complain and woman on phone couldn't care less! Waste of money! Never ever will I use Fown Lin again! Very very bad! * Do not use this Chinese *

We have tried the rest but this is best. The King Prawn Curry and fried rice is absolutely gorgeous. My hubby has sweet and Sour chicken balls with fried rice and cannot be beaten on taste, flavour and plenty of it. Well Done Fown Lin Margaret Pearson

Lovely chinese food, everything nice and hot delivered.

This a takeaway place, was not impressed had a yuk sung and the vermicelli was stale, we also had a special curry which did not have a lot of taste, haven't used the place for about two years and it was good then, we wont be rushing back.

I have tried all of the Chinese takeaways in burntwood and this 1 is by far the best. Food is always ready when you want it if you order over the phone. Also it's always nice and hot and cooked perfectly. My personal favourite are the salt and chilli ribs.

I've been using Fown Lin for too many years to mention, always polite always brilliant food wouldn't go anywhere else.

Good quick service and good food

Normally very pleased with the food we get but found over five very long hairs in mine and the kids food. Wasted £20 as non of us could eat our dinner. When we rang the Chinese, the man was very rude ‘pretending’ he couldn’t hear what was being said to him. Only rang half hour earlier to order the food, he heard me perfectly fine then. When faced with complaint he doesn’t accept it. Will never order from this restaurant again.

Disgusting!! Food came cold so I complained, came back and collected my food after I told them I had already started eating it, anyway new hot food came and now I have food poisoning! Would not recommend this place to anyone!!!!

Amazing takeaway food. Moved to the area 12 months ago & tried pretty much every takeaway but nothing compares. Everything cooked to perfection, good portions & friendly service.
