As far as take aways go our Jenny and her team cook up the best take away in Lichfield hands down. Salt and chili chicken and salt and chili chips are a big favourite.

Very bad customer service on a few occasions. You give a restaurant a few attempts to put it right but they get it wrong and are flat out rude about the situation when the orders are wrong and cold due to long waits, not much more you can do. Avoid!

The worst service ever! The order has been wrong on a number of occasions and on this occasion the take way refused it. Sent pork dish when I’ve never ordered meat ever and they were convinced that what I eat. Will never return and the low score on google reflects the service!

Ordered food yesterday (Saturday 10th February) waited an hour and a half for delivery food was ok but Luke warm. Not even a complimentary bag of prawn crackers for the size of the order and waiting time. Not a good impression for the first time using this Chinese.

Ordered a take out tonight to receive undercooked, pink chicken balls. My 2 year old daughter had a couple on her plate and luckily I cut her food up for her still to discover the chicken wasn’t even cooked Completely put off the whole take away at this point. Rang to inform them to be told ‘it’s just the quality of chicken at the minute’ - no apology. We won’t be returning.

Do not order takeaway from here - 2 hour wait and appalling customer service when called up to find out where order was after 1 1/4 hours. Don’t care about customers in the slightest. Won’t ever use again!

As a takeaway, the food is very good. But for the love of god, never, ever order a delivery. It never turns up on time, with an average wait of 45+ minutes, no apology and a couldn't give a sh!t attitude when you call them.

Ordered special curry with egg fry rice, chips this evening and order was delivered after 2 hours and food was freezing cold. When we phoned enquiring why there was a delay and order being cold we were advised to use a microwave! How rude. Will never use them again or recommend to anyone.

Raw onions. Had a Thai Green King prawn curry and there were a few prawns and peas but mainly almost raw large chunks of onion On a positive note the spare ribs were satisfactory but not as nice as before lockdown

came down to visit parents and we fancied a curry before we went back, my dad says he uses lombard, but they like cash, managed to order online and pay on card with delivery, which was half hour late,the food was cold when arrived and they got the order wrong, they did say they would drop it round straight away, buy the time it arrived we had to eat the food as it was already cold so it was useless, the food was very bland and would not recommend to anyone, sorry dad hes been using it for years, but i speak as i find especially after being charged four pound delivery and fifty pence service charge

Absolute waste of time ordering, was told 1hr which I was fine to wait. 1.40hr later I call to ask where it is? "driver has left and will be with you shortly ". (I am 7 minutes away). 20 minutes later and still nothing. I've Called up and cancelled as its beyond a joke. I will say who ever I spoke to was pleasant and apologetic but please don't lie to me that the order has left.

Considering everyone rants about how great the food is, unfortunately I do not think it's great. The Jill Juan chips were not crispy or seasoned well. The chicken curry was oily and watery. It was very disappointing. We've only just recently moved into the area and would of loved a dish that I actually enjoyed. Nevermind. Will have to try another. 😔

I’ve used Lombard a few times and usually the food is good, however, I ordered last night 10th September and won’t order again. I ordered Singapore chow mien, that was fine, hot chilli beef was more hot chilli bamboo shoots, 95% veg and liquid with a tiny amount of beef (£6.80) I ordered a sprig roll, now this is the main part I love, instead of this I received what looked like 4 samosas, very odd, to say I was fuming would be an understatement. My partner had egg fried rice, this resembled a block of rice I almost had to cut up, she also had kung po duckling, again, 95% veg and liquid with a tiny amount of meat (£7.10) to charge these amounts for dishes described as “meat with vegetables” is a joke. The whole experience left me beyond dissatisfied and disappointed. Over all the meal cost £35 (£4 delivery plus 50p service charge) £4 for just over 2 miles! If you prefer substandard food then order from here, I will not be using them again.

Really love the food especially the Gota Chicken and Jill yim chips. A++.....

I explained that I'm pregnant and it's really unsafe for me, still no apology. We got offered a refund for the chicken balls and that's it. We explained that we haven't eaten any of the other dishes as the raw chicken put us off, she refused us a refund because we didn't bring the rest of the takeaway back.. it was in the bin at this point. To be honest it's not about the refund, I wanted her to understand how bad it was but she clearly couldn't see the issue. In the end she refunded us for half the takeaway, although it wasn't the point. It's terrible that she didn't even bat an eyelid to the fact she sold us undercooked meat . Decent food and a decent price.

Used to love this place. Preferred through Uber tonight and they didn't even prepare my order - despite the app saying it was being prepared. I requested an update after the delivery window had passed but nothing happened. 10 minutes later I called and then said they need my phone number to process the order, despite having everything they needed to deliver. I am unwell and was in real need of the meal and have been massively let down by their "policy". they do not need my number, that's my private information, and they should not be on Uber Eats if they are doing to do this to every customer.

We've been customers of The Lombard for years and always find their food to be delicious and their customer service to be excellent! We'd recommend trying their special, 'Gota chicken' which is very tasty and a generous portion or the Salt & Chili (Jil Yeun) dry rub ribs, which are amazing!

It looks from the reviews as if the owners of the establishment do not read the reviews of their business, thought about trying their food but I feel they have not addressed any issues and are not interested in customers opinion, I think I'll give it a miss this time.

Hi Jenny, my partner and I often use your Chinese takeaway and it’s very rare we have problems but since have a Chinese from you on Friday I have sickness and diarrhoea. I’ve called my doctor and he said it sounds like food poisoning. We are all still very sick today and don’t feel good at all. We can’t eat at all and can barely drink.

Best Chinese in Lichfield. Small, but perfectly formed food. The salt and chilli chips are the best I have ever tasted. Speedy service and pleasant. Found by mistake and how glad am I that I did. So ordered 5:20 told within 1 and half hours fair enough xmas eve and busy 1 hour 40 later still no sign had family round to eat so rang Told another hour ridiculous!! Ruined our evening really poor communication non existant dont take the order if u cant deliver within a reasonable time frame!!!

Placed an order through uber eats for a special occasion last month. After an hour they cancelled it, so had to place an order with another chinese and wait another hour for delivery. Thought I'd give them them another try today, cancelled my order after 30mins. Absolutely ridiculous.

Quick Review as we have wasted enough Cash and time with these, Twice had food missing and after this second time they said we will give you the missing item next time 🙄 well no let your driver come collect the rest of the food back and we will have our cash back.. Then we get please when you order next you can have your SAME ORDER free so thought ok.. Used to be a descent Chinese, however in recent months it's been herrendous,the curry is burnt,the chicken is disgusting anemic looking,the rice is bland and clumped together,the BBQ sauce has that much sugar in it tastes like candy floss and to top it off the price has gone right up.Go to Hong Kong instead, Lichfield

The food is reasonable but they turn Uber eats on and off at random. We have decided on orders no fewer than 10 times and then been informed that Lombard are no longer accepting orders. It’s so frustrating. Please make your mind up.

For the second time I have placed an order (via UBEREATS) well in advance of the time it was required because time and effort was needed for special requirements of the people dining!! AND for the second time after the meal appeared to have been accepted, with a track option available, with 30 minutes to go IT GOT CANCELLED!! Awful service will not be using again!! THERE WAS NO NOTIFICATION, it was only by checking the app that I saw the meal was not going to arrive!! Dreadful service, no phone call with explanation or email or apology!! DO NOT USE!!

Sooo…. I placed my order this evening Saturday 17th July, two quarter aromatic duck, Lombard combo started and a chicken chow mein. Driver turns up paid cash. I quickly go outside to inform him the order is wrong. No problem call the shop they’ll sort it. Call the shop and they want to charge me a delivery charge for the order they got wrong. I say no that’s not right. The owner then in the back ground says to the girl on the phone, “ tell her to pay half the delivery and you ( the girl on the phone) has to pay the other half……. Well me, being me, isn’t going to allow a girl on an minimum wage pay half to my delivery. So I cancelled the order and wrote this review. How wrong if the owner is that……?

The Lombard Chinese takeaway has become Lichfield's leading Chinese takeaway. The Staff are so bubbly on the phone during ordering, also on collection. The food itself is intense in flavour throughout the individual dishes. The curry is so rich in flavour. Tonight's dish for me was Singapore Fried rice, and Hot and Spicy chips and curry sauce, as shown in my image. I don't have to say to much more, as the picture of the dish speaks for itself. I would highly recommend the Lombard, if you come across my review, definitely worth every penny enjoy!

Love the food here. Lady is so lovely. Always puts a smile on my face. Chilli chips are a fav and trying a new dish tonight so looking forward to that but never been disappointed with the food from here. Great service all round. Thank you.

Did a large order for my brothers bday, everything we ordered arrived in good time and was to a very good standard. Salt and pepper chips best in lich no lie.

After 20 years of being a customer ive saw the standards slip, but kept being a loyal customer because of the taste of their food an staff, an always tipped. Yet when we ordered sum food, they told us one price on the phone but different in store. They dont use chip an pin like almost everywhere now a days. So a mere 40p short shouldn't of been a problem for a customer who comes once a week for over 20 years. The family wont be returning.

I have been using this Chinese for the last 20 years. Unfortunately due to them having attitude when asking to pay on card over the phone and now being told they no longer accept card payments over the phone, and me being told in no uncertain terms that I can not do this anymore, I will no longer be using. Shame really because their food is lovely and as I said, I have been a customer for 20 years. Because of COVID I never carry cash and use my card for everything, I wonder how many other customers have turned their backs for this same reason?!

Ordered here a few times, restaurant staff rude & really unhelpful. Scheduled our dinner at 2pm for 6pm and cancelled at 5:35pm. Then tried calling to ask why and phone got put down at us. Not coming back again.

Ok so this is a Chinese take away notice the bad reviews are about the building or waiting for food or no card payment. the food is very nice best take away food in Lichfield and the best restaurant is Thai rainbow it’s Lichfield at the end of the day.

Been on the hunt for a good Chinese in Lichfield and this one was v disappointing. The quality of the food was really poor, the sweet and sour sauce tasted like battery acid.

Ordered food which took 1hr & a half to arrive from ordering. Got told the food was on the way for 15 minutes when it’s a 5 minute drive from my house. The driver pulled up smoking a cigarette in the same hand he was carrying mine & my families bag of food!! So with the risk of Covid on hands, we also had second hand smoke all over our food, which was poorly packed and DISGUSTING to eat. Bland and horrible - will definitely be expecting the SH!TS in the morning. Food is vile, very disappointed - my partner that’ll eat anything even turned his nose up at it and so did the dog. Won’t be ordering ever again.

Have been using them for over 30 years, food is always perfect and piping hot, and tasty to! Driver is always polite and helpful, he even brings my dads orders round to the back door as he knows he doesn’t hear the doorbell!!

This was my favorite Chinese for years until recently the food went down hill, mixed in with the chicken was a chicken with very unusual textures enough to put us off, and a lot of food orders started coming wrong, i don't know whats changed there but its unfortunate, i gave them ago a few times after discovering this as the food was great and the lady was really kind to us for many years, but had to stop using now. Just to add a response to the owner, I have not made a mistake and it is rude to presume so, this was before the Covid -19 Pandemic. I would say i had a couple from the end of the year up until the pandemic, where these issues began.

First time using this Chinese, I dont plan on using them again. My food arrived and after waiting an hour there was hair in the rice, after calling them to let them know i was dissapointed I recieved no form of compensation and the member of staff on the phone just wanted to get me off of the phone as soon as possible.

Fantastic food and customer service, we wouldn't go anywhere else. You should try the 'Gota chicken', it's their house speciality and is delicious! But then so is everything else!! The crispy shredded beef is wonderfully crispy (unlike many other places!) and everything they make is so fresh and tasty! We'll be back soon!!

After reading the reviews we thought we would give it a try never again shocking, the place stinks of wet fish and that's all I tasted on the first and was the last I had,thrown it away waste of £16 writing this review makes me feel sick can still smell that horrible smell...Sorry not nice and not sure I will trust certain areas around the country's reviews

Have been a loyal customer for almost 30 years so very disappointed tonight after spending £27 to find one of the meals was missing! Phoned up and was told the missing order would be sent out! This wasn't a problem as these things happen but then had to wait 45 minutes for it to arrive so the rest of the food had to be eaten or go cold! Would of thought if and order is missing then it should of been made priority especially when I live 5 munutes away. 😔

I rang and rang and rang while you were still open and you dodnt pick up. Probably because you were due to close. It wouldnt be the first time I've experienced this. As a chef myself you have a duty to feed others regardless whether its 10 minutes to close. Says all. Lazy customer service and no heart in it.

Have used this Takeaway for many years whenever visiting family locally; still under the same owner and producing quality authentic food. The portions are large, food fresh and well cooked. Being a Vegan I am pleased to be catered for at this establishment and my meat eating family always enjoy their meals from here. Highly recommended indeed...! My father is fussy with regards to Chinese food having spent a few years serving with the RAF in Hong Kong - he loves this place as well.

Read the reviews here and ordered some food. The lady was very polite and pleasant. However, the food was just unbelievably bad. I am not one to leave bad reviews but I have to say this. Maybe they have a substitute chef or just someone having a bad day. I have never ever tasted such bad Chinese food. I am only giving the extra star for the politeness of the lady on the phone. I do apologise for this review but it was so so disappointing

The manager is very rude...I am bedridden I was told I cannot pay by debit card over the phone cash only..but I can't walk !!!! would not recommend

Although forewarned it might take 45 minutes to an hour, our home delivery meal for three adults was delivered within 30 minutes and was really delicious. In addition to the 'standards' like chicken and pineapple the restaurant also offers a number of speciality dishes - for example, a "Wonderful Dragon" (Roast Pork, King Prawn, Chicken, Beef and Assorted Vegetables in Oyster Sauce) and Hoe Yau Gai Po (Crispy chicken breast on sautéed roast pork with mixed vegetables in wine sauce.) Even these special dishes are reasonably priced. (£5.20 for the former and £5.00 for the latter.) More 'standard' dishes like roast port with mushroom come in at £4.50. Our family often chooses one £5.00 yeung chow fried rice to go with our mains as the portion size is substantial, but the standard single portions of boiled or egg fried rice are of course available too. We enjoy the barbecue spare ribs from this restaurant very much as well. We have consistently used this take away from the year 2000 when we first moved to Lichfield and have never been dissatisfied with the food. Also, the home delivery meal charge is a reasonable £1.40. Telephone orders are diligently and accurately written down and we have never experienced any errors resulting from a telephone order. Food hygiene rating is decent too. The place is nothing to look at from outside but serves consistently good food and we intend to remain regular customers in the future.

To start of with first impressions is a must , not to be greeted with a hang on and placed on hold then I get told I can't use card machine tell her I only have card then my bill goes up by a pound Ino it's only a pound but it's principle , and when it came 30 mins late after being told it Would be 45-1:00 hr the food it's self was absolute cat food gross rubber sorry but I felt sorry for the bin having to put up with it until bin day

Just moved back into lichfield and me and my husband have ordered alot of times since being here, the customer service is terrible. Most times theres something wrong with the meal. We tried to order on the phone soon as they picked up no hello just have you already ordered? My husband said no but can we order and pay by phone the women on the phone very rudely said no we are to busy to do that! Even though it would take 2 mins. So we went to hong kong who gladly did it for us, we will not be ordering again from lombard. Learn some customer service.

Just had the worst experience with this Chinese. After being told they would prefer cash rather than pay on card as they're "very busy tonight" I made my order and drove across town to my closest ATM which wasn't close at all. The food was then 30 minutes late taking 1 hour and 10 minutes in total. After arriving and not being offered any discount or anything for being late I found there was no egg fried rice to go with my Szechuan chicken. I was told my order of egg fried rice wasn't on the order despite ordering it and the Chinese woman repeating this back to me. So after re-ordering it along with some prawn crackers I waited a further 20 minutes only to realise I only had the change left out of the £20 I got out the ATM. I rang back and the woman told her driver to just leave. I will not be coming here again, the food was standard at best. Terrible service. Terrible timings. Just TERRIBLE
