Ordered a takeaway on a Monday evening. One egg fried rice, one beef in black bean, one beef and mushroom, a portion on chicken balls. We could not tell the difference between the beef dishes, the beef was that chewy it was inedible. The rice tasted weird, a bit like how I would describe playdoh (not that we eat playdoh) the whole lot was scraped down the toilet and our dog ate some of the greasy chicken balls. My son wasted his money and we were left hungry and very disappointed. Don't waste your money,

Please disregard my review from a while back. This place has a 1 star hygiene rating 🤢 I’ve worked in places with 5 star and they were bad enough, hate to think what these guys are up too. Ring harmanswater Chinese , even that’s only 4 star so still not the best in terms of hygiene but better than bloody 1 😂 what are they even doing to get 1!

This was perhaps the worst Chinese food I have ever tasted. Granted we didn’t have the traditional Chinese menu, opting rather for the more westernised items. My wife started with salt and chilli wings which were basically just fried chicken wings. And seasoning that did come with it was scattered around the plate. I started with the West lake beef soup which was ok. For mains I chose the satay - the chicken was very rubbery and cheap tasting and the sauce was overly sweet. The accompanying fried rice was very sticky and heavy. My wife had the chicken curry which she said was nearly ok. As a result we ate virtually none of the main course. We asked for the bill and the waitress completely ignored the fact that there two virtually untouched portions of food on the table. She merely took my card and the bill was paid. This part of Glasgow has lots of Chinese/Malaysian/Korean eateries from street food to high end. Unfortunately this one does not rate at all. I so wish we had gone to the far far superior Dumpling Monkey across the road. Needless to say we will never be back.

If I could give this disgrace of a Chinese a 0 I would. Food was absolutely god awful pure thick grease in the salt and pepper munchies box which soaked through the box. The chow meins are just inedible and the chicken was that bad our dog refused to eat it which believe me is very unlike her. Avoid this Chinese at all costs and spend your money elsewhere or throw it down the drain least then you'll see something for your cash.

I have used this takeaway for years always had great food this evening we decided to put in order on Deliveroo as they had a deal on at the weekends my order totalled over £50 it was cancelled as they said they was sold out we then phoned the shop to be told that they were not doing the 50% off deal as was to much and that Deliveroo just do it should they not be taken off then I’ve now had to choose somewhere that I don’t really know 🤷♀️🤷♀️

Jasmine House – The Best Cantonese Takeaway by Far! Absolutely outstanding. Jasmine House is by far the best Cantonese takeaway I’ve ever had, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone. The chow mein was the best I’ve ever tasted—perfectly cooked noodles with a rich, savoury flavour that had real depth. Every bite was packed with freshness and just the right balance of seasoning. It’s rare to find a takeaway that delivers this level of quality, but Jasmine House absolutely nails it. Every dish we ordered was full of flavour and cooked to perfection. You can tell they use top-quality, fresh ingredients, and the care that goes into the preparation really shines through. Nothing was greasy or overly salty—just perfectly balanced, authentic Cantonese food done exceptionally well. For three of us, we spent £70 and had plenty of leftovers, which just shows how generous the portions are. Fantastic value for money given the incredible quality. If you’re looking for a top-tier Cantonese takeaway, Jasmine House is the one. I’ll definitely be ordering again—easily a five-star experience!

There must be few people cooking at their place because sometimes the same number comes delicious and other time barely satisfying. Overall very expensive. Udon prawns £8.50 and it was the worse batch I ever tried from them. Mushrooms with sauce. Fluffy and oily batter with raw mushrooms inside and the sauce, one of the gooeiest and not tasty at all. I need to change that place to somewhere else.

I have tried Chinese Takeaways from many places around the country and Sunrise is quite probably the best I have ever eaten. Consistently, all the dishes I have tried have been packed full of flavour and in generous portions. The Salt & Chilli Chips, Prawn Toast and Satay Chicken are particularly exceptional. I don't normally write reviews, but after trying 7-8 other Chinese takeaways in Carlisle before discovering Sunrise, it really is and remains, worth the drive to. If you haven't tried it... DO IT. Run. Dont walk. Thank me later.
