I saw a YouTuber recommended this place and couldn't wait to try it. The presentation of the dim sum is certainly different to the other restaurants. Food was tasty and some special dim sum dishes, prices are on the higher side but it's OK for a treat or business lunch. Oh I also had the duck spring roll which isn't in the photo but it's really good. Service was great and they even recommended the business lunch which is reasonably priced at £14.99, has a starter and main. Will definitely go back again!

We had dinner on a weekday at Chinese Cricket Club. We had the Ruby set menu. There was something old-school about the food and not in a good way. I was unfortunately reminded of the way Chinese cooking used to be in the UK decades ago. Individual dishes were mostly good. As for individual dishes: - The dim sum starters at the beginning were very nice especially the one in the bean curd. -I liked the creamy prawns dish and the three cup chicken. However, the fried seaweed that came with the prawns had a stale oil flavour to it that made it inedible. -The stale oil flavour was also present in the sweet and sour pork dish in the batter around the pork chunks. -The mushroom and bamboo dish tasted as if the ingredients came from tins. -I got the impression that the kitchen went for intensity of flavour over nuance, in the main dishes. -The desserts were nice and the cricket ball-like dessert is visually pleasing of course. For balance it might be better to have one chocolate and one non-chocolate dessert. The matcha cake dessert we got was slightly compressed at the top and not flawless, but that was just a cosmetic issue. Service was excellent and the meal was decent for the price point, however, we hoped for a wow factor that didn’t materialise from this meal. Perhaps the a la carte menu would have been a better choice.

Our dining experience at the Chinese Cricket Club was overall very unpleasant. We ordered Mapo Tofu, Shanghai pork belly, Beef Ho Fun, and Shanghai fried rice. Except for the Shanghai pork belly, which should have had a salty and sweet flavor and tasted just okay, the other three dishes were extremely plain, if not excessively salty. The Mapo Tofu lacked the flavorful, traditional spicy Sichuan aroma; the Beef Ho Fun tasted like it was drenched in soy sauce with no hint of sweetness, and the fried rice was simply bland. Was salt and soy sauce the only seasoning in their kitchen? While the presentation was fine, we wouldn't want to have dinner with only good presentation but no quality. In summary, the food was sub-par, and the service (waitress L and another waiter) was unsatisfactory. Avoid at all costs.

We had tried the Chinese Cricket Club for the first time, wanting to avoid the hustle and bustle of Chinatown and it was nice to see Asian restaurant around blackfriars. The overall presentation was excellent, and we opted for the Weekend Dim Sum menu (£19.99 for three items), which offered good value, especially for a more upscale setting. Veggies dishes were absolutely tasty, and loved the innovative creative dishes like daikon twin and tofu skin roll. Service was excellent, very welcoming and friendly.

I had wanted to try here for dinner for a long time and finally decided to book and try for dinner: what a disappointment. Things didn’t get off to a good start, they had no record of my booking (although they didn’t go to check anything so good luck if you’re planning on booking a special event here): I only had one starter followed by an assortment of dim sum. The starter (baked ribs) were barely luke warm and while the other stuff was hotter, it just tasted insipid: the waiter who brought it out asked if I would like chili sauce to go with it but when I answered in the affirmative, he never came back with it (they seemed more bothered with a loud mouthed party of tourists on another tables every whim but they were ordering next to nothing so I hope that worked well with their takings and the service charge. For the price of what I had, I would have been better off in one of the big name Chinese restaurants in London (there’s a couple closer to London Bridge serving better food, at lower prices and with better service)

A decent Chinese dim sum restaurant inside the Hyatt Regency Hotel. Classy decor and quite spacious. It is called Chinese Cricket Club, but there is nothing to do with the sports. We went in a Saturday afternoon. Surprisingly all the customers were Chinese and they all spoke Cantonese, which was a good sign for good Chinese food. You could choose any 3 dim sum from their lunch menu for approx £20. The taste of the dim sum was satisfactory in general. Not 100% authentic while they were very presentable, although the portion was really small. The fish dumplings looked cute but tasted bland. Dishes from the a la cart menu were more impressive. I recommended the stir fry beef noodles and the prawn fried rice. Service was very attentive. It would be perfect if there are more dim sum and tea options, as well as larger portion. Otherwise it is difficult to attract repeated business. Personally I urge to introduce pork siu mai into the menu (currently their siu mai is made of chicken).

Peking duck is the best, according to my meat-eating family members. The rest of the dishes were average and not totally the authentic flavor. The dishes from our veggie set menu were really small portion and just OK. We were still hungry until the dessert, which was surprisingly bigger portion. But one of the dessert options we chose was not available because it was 'frozen' and would take too long to serve. I did love the food presentations, and the service was great. However, with 4 adults and 2 toddlers in our group, the bill came to £320 with just water and tea as beverage, no alcoholic drinks. It's definitely over priced.

My wife and I were having a week-long stay at the Hyatt property that houses this hotel, so we ate her for dinner the first night of our stay. The restaurant is newly reopened following a years-long refurbishment of the entire property. Everything in the hotel and restaurant sparkled. Our meals were very tasty, and the service was spot-on. The restaurant was sparsely populated the evening we ate. We were seated immediately without reservations. I will note that the portion sizes were small compared to a comparable Chinese dinner in the USA. That suited us well, though, since we weren't going to take any leftovers back to our room, and we didn't want to feel overly stuffed after we ate, either. So, the meal was rightly proportioned for our specific needs, but if you have a large appetite, you'd probably find the portion sizes to be too small. Two dinners including one alcoholic drink was 85 pounds, including the optional service charge.

Staying at the Hyatt and arriving late we decided to eat at the CCC. Overall the food is good, but I feel overpriced for the portion size. The good: the steamed pork dumplings were evidently delicious. My son are two servings of them not leaving any for us. The wok fried beef with black pepper sauce was delicious. It isn't similar to what I've had in China from a flavor perspective, however it was delicious in is own right. The not so good: the beef ho fun wasn't fun at all. The fish had undercooked noodles and little flavor. Even after putting sauce in the dish it left us wanting something more. Also, the portion sizes are small, not enough to share 1 dish with several people and we ended up ordering multiple of each dish to get full. In the end the cost wasn't unreasonable, even ordering multiple dishes due to the size and the quality of the dumplings and beef filet was really good. I will try this restaurant again when I'm next at the Hyatt.

They've just reopened after COVID. Prices don't include VAT (strange for London) which makes a very small plate of noodles close to £16 at lunch. Very attentive service given I was the only person dining in the restaurant. Good flavor for beef noodles but some undercooked noodles. Wouldn't be back for lunch unless it's getting expensed. Even so, small portions mean it'll be hard to do family style if you're in a group.

HALAL STATUS: NO LONGER CATERS FOR HALAL! While we easily bought into the concept of Chinese Cricket Club, and, thus, enjoyed both its ambience and its theme, the same wasn't true of the food. Truth be told, of the nine dishes had, we'd come back for two, possibly three. The problem is that when a restaurant makes use of the same base for three separate dishes, and that too the restaurant's signatures, then it's obvious that corners are being cut. Consequently, we had three plates that tasted relatively the same. If this is by design, then it makes sense given that Chinese Cricket Club is part of a hotel that would also be required to cater for the many guests visiting the restaurant. If not, then it just doesn't make much sense to us. In summary then, we were left a little disappointed given our expectations. NOTE: Be advised that the Dim Sum is made from pig. I would give 0 to this restaurant if I could. I booked this restaurant for Christmas dinner. The restaurant website advertised on the traditional British buffets and, frankly, that’s the only reason I booked the dinner there. When I arrived, no turkey was served in the buffet. All food looked cold and unappetizing. I tried to communicate this issue with the manager. To my surprises, he responded in a very condescending tone “you should have read through our menus carefully...you would know what you paid for...” then he turned his back at me.....The manger didn’t bother to check on my table for the rest of the night..The a few times that the staffs stopped by to collect the plates, not a single time I got a response or even an eye contact when I said thank you..The 12.5% service charge was included in the bill, so even if the service was a nightmare, I still paid over 20 pounds on the service alone..The experience was a nightmare. Do NOT go to this restaurant. By reading the comments, the the rudeness in service is a common occurrence in this restaurant, especially received from the manager.

Late on a Sunday evening we were glad to find any half decent restaurant in this part of London. It was empty when we arrived and empty too when we left. In between, the meal was fine….not wowee though…service was understandably attentive…value about right.

Having visited Chinese Cricket Club previously I recommended that my friends and I went here for dinner (especially as it is also on Tastecard).
Unfortunately the menu was not as extensive as I remembered especially for my friend who was vegetarian.
She was told to order one of the 'from the soil' options as her main - she opted for the broccoli -but this was literally just broccoli on a plate and by no means was it a main.
The manager was happy to switch this for a tofu dish which wasn't obviously vegetarian on the menu as it didn't have VG written next to it so wasn't an option initially- this was definitely more like a main and we are thankful to the restaurant for switching this.
We were also a little disappointed at the size of the salmon which came with no sides/rice/noodles and was £18 just for a salmon fillet in sauce... Seems a bit deer.
The venue itself was lovely, the staff really friendly and attentive - so overall we did have a great time there I just think that given how many people are vegetarian and vegan today the menu definitely needs updating.

Interesting wine collection using only wines from sportspeople like Graham Gooch and Jimmy Anderson (both cricketers). The restaurant is in a nice hotel but the views were basically of a busy road intersection. The food was good quality but pricey for what it was. Very attentive service.

Chinese restaurant based inside the Crowne Plaza City hotel. Decent ambience and food was good but nothing spectacular for the value. The braised aubergine with garlic in a spiced soya mix was the star dish

Well, you live and learn - being unable to get a table for 6 the same day at Kym's we came here. It's a cold, miserable dining room in a tourist hotel opposite Blackfriars station. The 1st wanting sign should have been the premium rate call number they use to take bookings ( what is this. 1989??)The staff are pleasant and efficient but the food is so so dull.We had the set menu which consisted of:-Salt & pepper squid - ok. 5/10Vegetarian spring roll - oily 4/10Peking duck - for easy of the kitchen the decided to slice it, rather than shred it. It was dry and the plum sauce much too sweet. 3/10 Main courses:Pak Choi with mushrooms quite good 8/10Crispy shredded beef - not sure I found any beef - just batter in sweet sauce 2/10Spicy chicken ? 3/10over all not great for £35 head plus serviceNot to be repeated. EVER

One for tourists and office parties. Incredibly bland food in a weird corporate like setting. TBH the alarm bells should have rung when I saw a premium rate number on the website for booking. The set menu was £35 to include Peking duck which they couldn't even be bothered to shred - it was sliced with a knife. Won;t be returning

We have been here before and I rated it 5 stars. I am afraid it was not good this time. The dim sum was below average but the Shanghai prawns were nice. The Scallop and prawn in XO sauce was very disappointing. First the scallops were frozen food just like from a take away shop,it had no texture and tasteless. On top of it we cannot taste the XO sauce at all.The monkfish dish was tasty but there were very little fish in there. Its expensive dish so its not good value for money. The Emperor duck lack texture, quite bland. The Chang do chicken was quite good. The wine list offered poor choice of wine. Overall our dining experience was average. Basically you can find much better quality food elsewhere easily for the cost .

Saturday lunch, the restaurant was empty - unsurprisingly as it turned out. We ordered prawn crackers, a quarter crispy aromatic duck - ok-ish but nothing special. The crispy pork (Harbin signature dish) was dry and tough. The steamed prawns in their shells were vastly overcooked: dry, rubbery and flavourless. Both main courses (at c. £23 each) came with no vegetables, just the protein. The prawns were served with some vermicelli. The egg fried rice was £6.50!!! We complained about the mains (especially the prawns). The waiter said he told the chef, who replied that that's how the prawns should be! With a coke and a beer, the bill came to £90. On the plus side, the restaurant is spacious and nicely decorated. The toilets are nice and very clean. Unfortunately, the food is badly cooked and overpriced. We won't be going back.

Cozy homie style restaurant with comfortable seating. Small but good menu. Vegetarian spring rolls and wasabi prawns, amazing! Sea bass, chicken with cashews and the wagyu beef was my most favourite main dish. Lobster noodles, a plain and boring dish. All mains came at once and we shared everything. All dishes were served on the same plate, which I would recommend changing. Chris was a very nice and attentive Chinese waitress. Price was reasonable

Never had a bad meal here, great for family dinner. Only gripe is the stool to sit on and back, which is a little uncomfortable for a whole dinner.

Service was excellent and the food came out fast! The place was a shot in the dark at finding that one perfect place to fix my asian food cravings and I’m sooooo glad it was this place! Every single thing I ordered, was a 10/10!! I ordered the oyster pancakes (yumm), the XL pork XLB (yummm), and the spicy beef soup with white rice (yummmmm)!!
