Four Seasons Chinese Restaurant - Bayswater in City of London, Westminster

The company advertises it is "The best duck in the world". The opposite, the crispy duck was simply disgusting. Old Dry No No

No aircon at all, so hot for the whole dinner, noodles taste awful, roasted pork is very fat skin is not crispy, satays is dry, the bell pepper stuffed with shrimp paste the shrimp is spoil. Most important is the server attitude, a female staff serving our table bad face to us she seems can't understand either Cantonese or English. I am really unhappy for the dinner experience I will never visit this branch again.

More people need to order the lobster noodles! It's one of the quintessential dishes to order here alongside the Peking duck in my opinion, and both were great when we visited. It was incredibly packed but the service was still super quick when we went and they were very polite and engaging when helping order out the portions of lobster. We also had razor clams which were nice, but the sauce could have been stronger in my opinion. Only downside is place is quite pricey - it is also in Bayswater though so we weren't surprised by the fee.

The so-called 'crispy' duck was old, wrinkled, and desiccated, and had never seen better days. Two of us had a bill for £110, rather than the illusory prices on their website. Cleanliness of the whole place is highly questionable, as is why the place has so many 'visitors' giving 4/5 star reviews. Surely standards and expectations cannot be that low ?

I would say to have this standard outside of Asia is indeed remarkable. Since it's always going to be packed, do look for offpeak hours.

Never coming back! Food - king prawn fried rice was bland; rice bathed in oil with with frozen peas and huge uncooked prawns- no flavour at all. crispy pork was chewy and roast duck had a weird smell Service - terrible; only few tables but the servers never catch your attention. Manager is rude and arrogent - doesn’t care about customer service because restaurant is always busy . Ruining the four Season name - my stomach still feels a but funny after eating fingers crossed I’m ok.

Food was very expensive so I imagined it would be good, unfortunately I was sorely disturbed and disappointed with the taste and quality of the food. I ordered; egg fried rice, baked pork ribs, mixed vegetables , and hot poached superior chicken. The ribs, I like pork ribs and have all thes dishes regularly but not normally from this place. The ribs for some reason were out sized they were as big as beef ribs which are large, I’m not entirely sure they were pork ribs and were very fatty with gristle marveled through the meat, not normal. The mixed vegetables were void of any sauce basically dry. The chicken was cold dry and devoid of taste. The rice was the only thing worth eating, never again.

Amazing food packed with flavor. Service is beyond exceptional and I could not recommend it enough

Came at an off hour and service was friendly and prompt. The roasted meats were delicious. Hard to go wrong with the roasted duck and char-sui (bbq pork). I liked how they brought to the table three types of chilis - a chili oil, hot sauce and pickled jalapeños. Portions seemed a bit smaller than Chinatown, but the fried rice did have a good ratio of ingredients to rice. Enjoyed the experience overall. Meal came with sliced oranges and a small container of mints at the end. The paper takeaway bag was red with Four Seasons logo with “Since 1990”. A good London establishment.

Classico ristorante cinese con le anatre arrosto in vetrina. La 1/2 anatra arrosto boneless è strepitosa! Abbiamo anche assaggiato i gamberoni alle verdure e anche alla piastra. Tutto ottimo. Poi ti portano delle fettine di arancia e delle caramelline. Esperienza positiva.

Terrible experience, rude staff, poor service and horrible cramped atmosphere. I requested for the service charge to be removed and was given a rude racist response. I will not be going back.

It's a shame as usually food here is lovely. However, got a take away today of sweet and sour chicken on rice and all I got was rice and vegetables. None of the chicken was edible. It's the part of the chicken that have no meat and is just super chewy. The portion size was good but maybe moving forward actually put meat chunks of chicken. The crispy seafood noodles however was amazing.

The best duck meal and it’s £11.20. “Barbecue meat on rice” - this sits on the menu discreetly under “Rice”. You get almost the same amount of the juiciest roast duck for less than half the price of other duck dishes! Comes with the sauce with some greens. Portion is filling, the photo is half-eaten. You can walk in, food comes out in under 5 mins during lunch during weekdays. I’ve been coming here for the last 20 years, alone and with noisy group of friends. Food and service are good consistently, a true survivor - quite rightly - whilst many other businesses come and go. So good!

Gave us a bad table. They gave us a wrong drink, and was being rude also. They made a sly comment for me taking off service charge even though there service was poor . HORRIBLE STAFF Members. RACIST!!

One of the very very best Chinese restaurants you will find in London. The duck and pork are as good as any you will find anywhere. Service is great and fast. Very recommended.

Been coming here for years and absolutely love it. The food is amazing, is always served very fast and at great prices. Only drawback here is the building is quite run down.

Great roast duck and sweet beef.

Quick service, restaurant space is cramp during peak hours. All dishes come with sauces. Roast duck is not dry. Char sui is nice and roast pork and aromatic duck. Other dishes mediocre. Old furniture. Service charge 12%. Bowl of rice is £4. Chinese tea is £2. Highly overrated. Recommend any restaurant in China Town instead.

My favorite place for roast duck but since I moved from the area I didn’t have a chance to visit until today. I decided to order taker away. I ordered roast duck and crispy pork belly on rice. When I got home the order was wrong :( I should have checked when it was passed over. I am so so so gutted.

First time at Chinese restaurant, very delicious duck with rice which I found on page with rices food.

Good food. We had the Cantonese Roast duck, Tripe and pepper soup and French beans with minced pork

The food, which consisted of three different courses, was good, but the female waitress was most concerned with removing empty dishes almost before we had finished, and that we paid the bill as soon as possible, even if we had drinks left in the glasses. We thought this was rude behavior.

This is a place to visit just for the food that is always consistently good. Service is the usual Chinese restaurant standard with frosty staff and the carpet is very dirty and worn but the food always makes up for it. Be aware the prices on the website aren’t the same on the menu!

The food and the service is excellent, I dine in there all the time and the staff are very joyful when serving.

Over the years, this has been our go to Chinese in the whole of London. Authentic and incredible food. Not the most glamorous establishment, but that is not why you come here. Everything amazing, but try the Prawn Toasts, you will never have any as good as these.

The website says The Best Duck in the World. I wouldn't disagree.

Probably one of the best places in London to get cantonese roast duck. It's been around for so long and there is a good reason for it.

Ok place with typical Chinese food. The waiters are a bit rude but seems that's how they deal with it.

When in London, we use to go to this restaurant, that we discovered in the mid-90s, and that remains a great reference when it comes to Cantonese cuisine. Last time we had a delicious Char Siu, the usual great roasted duck, tofu and plenty of vegetables, they make in the wok. Everything was excellent, and confirmed our idea of a great restaurant. Service in the Chinese way, but not rude at all, and we also exchanged some jokes with the lady there (never happened before!) All in all, always a good place, that we will visiting again, as we do since 30 years ago when in London.

This is a great Chinese restaurant in central London. This is my second visit here. I ordered Prawn Crackers, Hot and Sour Soup, along with Sweet and Sour King Prawn. I washed it down with a Tsing Tao Beer. Great authentic food in a nice clean restaurant. There is a "discretionary" 12.5 percent service charge that will be added to your bill, not sure how that is "discretionary".

Amazing food. Although it was a bit cramp, they accommodated me and my wife to a table. All the dishes were very delicious. We enjoyed it a lot and can't wait to go back. 😀

Busy evening but the service was great and the food tasted fantastic. Specially the Duck. Roasted Duck yes run and try it. The best i have tasted. The service was 100 % and at the end of the meal the manager came with free dessert on the house. She was friendly and smiling and gave us the story of the restaurant. Can really recommend this to all my Norwegiand friends.

A fairly good Chinese restaurant. According to reviews their speciality is roasted duck, and I'd feel inclined to agree. Service was terrible, communication was so hard that I had to resort to point at the menu. As expected on these places, atmosphere is "order, est, pay and sod off"

8.9/10. Authentic Cantonese cuisine in west London. Food keeps in high quality and portion is ok for share. Service is normal but atmosphere is bit squeezed with some classical playlist. 💷 £25-50per, 💁🏻‍♂️ 10-15mins, quicker than Chinatown branch.

I’ve always come back to Four Seasons (Chinatown or Queensway) every time I visit London. Never had any dish that I didn’t enjoy eating so far. Service is not the best and sometimes rude, but it’s worth coming back for the food ✨

Dimsum is the point earner. Bbq pork is smelly. Lose point. Roast duck is ordinary, could be better if skin crispy. Charxiu is below acceptable flavour. Fried squid- obvious frozen squid. Lose point. Service: staff is rushing us, i dont like when theres alot of empty seats available i am forced to clear the bill immediately and asked to leave just after i done my last bite. Even got the face to ask for tips. Its abit disgusting.

The food was so authentic, by a authentic HK chef. Awesome 👍. a must try their signature Soya sauce chicken ,Roast duck, roast pork. Soya chicken is my fav🤤 San Lor Hor fun has so much wok hei 🤤. The sweet and sour pork too.. sweetness just nice and texture of pork too , everything was so well balanced 😋 The egg plant fried with mince was another authentic dish is a must try too.

They are supposed to be known for their duck but this was really quite bad. Ordered a whole duck, and as you can see from the photos half was burnt black and you can taste the charcoal. I would not recommend the duck here, atleast double check it’s not burnt !! The prawns with salted egg yolk was great on the other though pricey for what you get. The aubergine with mince pork was pretty good but nothing to write home about. All in all, it’s below average for the food - the atmosphere and restaurant is looking very tired and old. I wouldn’t be coming again to this one.

Perfection always. Our family have been coming here for 30 years, we live far away and travel in. The food is always delicious, the roast meats are not to be missed. This is a Chinese restaurant located in Queensway area of London. The restaurant is a Cantonese restaurant. The setup of the restaurant is nice with Chinese theme. This restaurant is popular for in house dining and take-away services. The food served here is generally good. Enjoyed their Take-away Roasted Duck Drumstick Rice. Despite being a take-away, the duck is well prepared and tender. Service is fast. Prices are reasonable. Cleanliness is good Public washrooms are available in the restaurant Handicapped patrons on wheelchairs can patronize this restaurant.

The Roast duck and chicken wasn't as good as I remembered. Consistency is a bit patchy.

Probably the best roast duck in the world! Authentic Chinese cuisine with long established. Visited regularly since 2000 and Four Seasons never fails to delivered high quality food. Always ordered a ‘whole roast duck’ to take home.

Top food. Duck is delicious. Maybe to say something, the place needs a bit of maintenance, painting ... also the bathrooms need to be improved.

The beef, roast duck and pork is good and delicious and it's the best. I highly recommend to eat roast duck because it taste so good and delicious and it's the best when you visit 4 season Chinese restaurant.

we ordered from the Uber eat platform at the four seasons, firstly we were not disappointed to see that they were generous on the quantity of portions. but what was our surprise when we started to eat, all our dishes were very (too) greasy, impossible to eat the noodles were coated with a "sticky" and fat sauce, the breading of the pork (sweet and sour pork) was so thick that we couldn't even feel the taste and texture of it, and it was bathed in a bath of sauce. here are only two examples of the dishes we ordered, but for the rest, it's the same conclusion, only fat and impossible to eat. It’s a shame when you realize that the prices are way too high compared to the quality of the dishes. We will never order again!

Went with a friend , food never disappoints. But the whole place should close for at least one year and have a full refurbishment. Most of all the toilet area is a scandal.

An overload of client unfriendliness. Went at 14:30 when the the restaurant was two thirds empty and was offered a table by a waiter that tightly sandwiched my wife and I between two tables with literally no room (on one side the gentleman was portly and the other side two expansive ladies). We then asked to be moved to the same tactless waiter and was offered a table by the cutlery and plate station. Asked if we could move to a nearby empty table, his ‘rudeness’ said they were all reserved. We sat for a few minutes but then decided to leave, a restaurant we had frequented and recommended for over 30 years. For the prices they charge and for rundown condition of the restaurant you’d expect a more considerate attitude particularly as the restaurant was over half empty.

I ordered one and a half Roast duck Cantonese style plus various sides of egg fried rice, beancurd and Chinese mushrooms and vegetables and WOW it was SO DELICIOUS. Man, that duck was the best I've EVER tasted. I ordered it by phone and it was delivered bang on time. Great service and absolutely amazing food. I'm definitely ordering from them again.

Four Seasons is hands down one of my favourite Chinese restaurants in London. While I typically visit their branches in Soho, the Queensway location has won my heart. The service here surpasses the one in Soho, and the staff are exceptionally friendly. The welcoming atmosphere adds to the overall dining experience, making it a place I always look forward to returning to.

I have tried a few Four Seasons restaurants but this branch on Queenway is my favourite. I have been to this branch a while ago but the great food and service got me back. In my opinion , they serve one of the best Cantonese style roast duck in London. Nice texture and great taste. The pork belly and soya chicken were also nice!!! I like prawn spicy dim sum too. So happy with my meal earlier today.

I was extremely disappointed. The roast duck was hairy and very salty. They used MSG on the other dishes. Prices were similar to other Chinese restaurants on Queensway but the food was not as good.

Walked in to takeaway a whole roasted duck and pork belly for dinner. Staff were friendly and super efficient. Got my order 5 mins after ordering. She even gave us a whole bottle of duck sauce! That made me a happy bunny 😃 thanks for making my evening! This place will be my go to from now on when ordering duck! ❤️

Second visit. Portion size smaller than last time and while other tables got lollipop with their bills, we didn’t. Total discrimination.

This place is insanely busy and the queuing system is ANYTHING BUT CLEAR. FYI, you need to go in despite the queue outside, speak to the staff at the entrance, say your party size and your name and then join the queue outside. Once inside, getting the attention of the busy waiting staff is impossible without rudely shouting someone over. Overall although the service was unpleasant, the food was the delicious.

I often use the four seasons in Gerard Street Soho, but when I realised this restaurant near Notting Hill had the same menu, I knew it was going to be good, the restaurant was empty when I arrived with all but two small tables reserved, it was really full 45 minutes later, a full restaurant is rarely wrong! The food and service was as good as soho.

It was my first time visiting four seasons.. I've heard so much about how amazing the duck is, and I do love authentic Chinese food. I had the roast duck, pork intestine and chicken soup ( which i usually love), and Chinese spinach cooked with garlic. Yeah, the food was great, but honestly, the restaurant has a 3 hygiene rating. I felt grossed out. The restaurant is filthy, and the whole experience put me off my food. It doesn't matter how good the food may be, but the hygiene was very poor. It put me off everything. I'm surprised it has a 3 hygiene rating and not lower. It's not good enough, and I won't be returning, and if hygiene is important to you, then don't go.. Whether the food is good or not, the level of cleanliness is crucial for me when eating out, and this place is certainly not for me. This did not leave me with a food coma or a smile on my face.

As always, their roast duck lives up to their reputation. Truly enjoyed the dish with the fats from the duck and not very gamey taste. It’s juicy, tender and flavourful. The calamari and roasted pork is superb, tender as it gets. The roasted skin is crispy and I really enjoyed the dish. The manager & servers are top notched. Efficient and good customer service. Will definitely come back here again.

Poor service ! Better food from a basic takeaway, I regretted staying here for lunch from the minute I walked in, the restaurant looked so worn and dirty, only one sister spoke English and the others were polite but had no idea how to service or clean a table, after our starters I knew this was going to be a bad experience and I was right, the food was brought one dish at a time and not explained which dish it was etc, At this point I had given up and embarrassed as it was a business lunch and I had chosen the venue, If I was with family I would not have paid the service charge as I didn’t think they deserved it, I have had better food from my local Chinese takeaway, if only I had read the previous comments on trip-adviser I would never have booked this place, people choose carefully as I found this place to be sub standard and lacking in the service and cleanliness areas. They have a 3 from the food standard hygiene rating !! Not got at all just satisfactory which shows you the owners don’t care ! Never again you have been advised
