This used to be one of our local favourites for dim sum. However, the food quality and culinary standard was average to poor for the dishes we chose. I have to agree with other recent reviews which are generally unfavourable. A pity…

We booked in for limitless dimsum feast, which is still visible online, and arrived suitably hungry. We had been to this before and knew what to expect. We were told that they had stopped doing this, and had no record of our reservation as someone had left the company. We were very sad we had made the whole journey, but they didn't offer any alternative, or speak to anyone, the waitress seemed to not care at all. We then ordered some bits of dimsum (much less than when I came before and had the feast) and one drinks each. Our total bill came to £112. A very underwhelming and frustrating experience with bad customer service

Honestly stumbled on this place because I wanted to get away from the crowds and oh wow! This place is so small and quiet and honestly do the best dumplings I have ever had!! The pak choi is to die for as well! It is amazing if you want to be central but in a bit more of a quiet area. 100% recommend!!

We have always loved Baozinn, we come everytime we are in London, never again! we were greeted by a lady, she looked like she had just woke up and was wearing a Beavertown t-shirt, i though wow they stock Beavertown now, my favourite.. no they don't thats just the shirt she wanted to wear.. Then we get handed a dirty menu that doesn't match the website and the items on it were hugely restrictive compared to the website menu that we have had many many times. The girls didnt know the menu what we were being served or what was inside.. They dumped the food on the table without explanation and ran off to continue laughing and joking with each other, downstairs was re-heating equipment that was brand new, a big no no for dim sum, Won Tons were clearly frozen and re-heated which left them slimy and tasteless, the buns were nuclear in the middle, which means a microwave was used, especially as one of them exploded.. and the other items although some where ok was substandard, the "waitresses" left our table dirty and carried on laughing and joking the entire time and didnt bother to be attentive which is something i always loved about this restaurant, the prices have also gone up and they applied a 12.5% service charge which we rejected straight away, this is also a first for us in London as service is normally pretty spot on.. The lady explained when we told her that we though the service and food was bad that they were under new management, so can i send a message directly to the new management.. Let us all know when you are gone so we can visit this once great restaurant again!!

Very bad food, the photo they advertised is different from by another app for food, maybe it was a change of chef or owner. There was no service, I ordered more than two people's dishes and was not told too much, and I waited for a long time to serve the wrong dish. The chicken is very dry, the mushroom seasoning is not delicious, and the crab roe noodles are only spicy and have no crab roe flavor after being stirred.

Service was non existent. No one told us you have to order by ticking the menu (we weren’t given a pen either which would have helped) so we waited for a long while to order. Once we’d placed our order the food came out a different times with at least a 2 hour gap between the first and last dishes to arrive (after asking multiple times where the food was and being told ‘I’ll check’). After an hour of waiting for one dish we were told they’d ran out?! The food itself was bland and not enjoyable so didn’t make up for the poor service. Wouldn’t recommend at all, there are much better places to eat in Soho for the price!

Where to start? 1. Really rude on the phone 2. When we called we asked for a booking for the bottomless dim sum deal which they made. arrived there and were told they didn’t do it anymore… even though they’d booked us for it the day before 3. Prices were different on the bill to what they were in the menu, ended up at £80 for like 5 things 4. 4£ for a cup of green tea, expected a pot or tea leaves. It arrived and it’s literally just a mug and teabag. That’s fine! But not for £4 5. We ordered the vegetarian dumpling platter. When served they repeated that they were vegetarian, despite obviously being prawn. when we checked with another waiter he accepted they were prawn. 6. All the dumplings on the mixed platter tasted the same, and was £18 for like 6. Genuinely couldn’t tell if they’d either given us 6 of the same or if the fillings were just all bland. 7. We ordered vegetation Dan Dan noodles, when they arrived they told us again they were vegetarian with mock meat. Should have known after the dumplings but didn’t believe they’d serve us meat twice after we’d already complained... We only found out the fake mock meat was actually pork from the bill! 8 Photos of Chairman Mao all over the walls downstairs???, just a bit weird! Avoid

The food was okay, although mine had a kick that wasn’t mentioned on the menu, which caught me by surprise. My boyfriend’s food took at least an hour to come, and we asked about it once or twice during that time. Mine also took a while to come out, and the waitress came to ask if we had finished everything when we hadn’t had our food yet. She then brought mine out, and eventually brought my boyfriends after another couple of times asking about it. Terrible service.

Baoziinn used to be a delight to visit with amazing tangy soups and delicious dumplings. Today’s visit was a disaster. The menu has narrowed, the dumplings were dry and clearly from the freezer, served with no dipping sauce. Although the chicken main was ok, the pork belly was insipid. Sadly, service is appalling. The waitress could not have been more sullen and lacking any charm whatsoever. The service charge was the final insult, having been largely ignored and with poor food dropped on the table with all the grace of a reversing concrete truck. This restaurant is on borrowed time unless it reverts to its previous glories. What a shame. Will not be going back.

Service and atmosphere are good. We booked with 50% off. We got the dumpling platter which was quite disappointing at the texture of the dough was really gummy. We also got the chill wonton with no pork, which was nice but again gummy dough. Salt and pepper squid was nice but it wasn’t really salt and pepper- it was fried onions with fried squid. Sambal prawn egg fried rice was the star, really good. Mixed seafood flat noodles were okay but lacked seasoning or a good sauce. Sexy cucumber also lacked some flavour.

Although the service was nice, the food was unfortunately very average especially for the price point. I went with a vegetarian friend so we shared all vegetarian dishes. We had the vegetarian dumpling platter (thought the skin was too thick and flavours were only average), salted yolk asparagus (the asparagus was not cooked properly and too crunchy), mushroom skewers (not cooked properly again and no flavour) and the vegetarian mapo tofu (good flavour and only good thing that we had).

Marginally “acceptable” food. Of all the dishes, we enjoyed the chicken wings and the king prawns the most. However, the “sexy cucumbers” were not spicy at all—in fact, none of their spicy dishes were spicy in the slightest! The crab meat soup was downright disappointing… absolutely no flavor. The custard bao also did not have a gooey filling, it was solid in the middle. Dandan noodles were also not authentic, it was dry and had no soup base! All in all, a very mediocre dining experience, and we will not likely return.

The buffet has so many choices, and it's a service buffet so you just need to order and waited for the food to come. The wonton soup, salt and pepper Chicken wings, salt and pepper squid fries are very yummy. And they also have Dan Dan noodle, with a lots Ingredients full with the bowl, it's not dry, very tasty! We also love the jiaozi mixes, the sauce is so unique, we never tasted that sauce before but it's good with the jiaozi. Perfect with people from south east China if you prefer sweet taste. Will say 80-90% recommended, as a Chinese. This is my fourth Chinese meal in the UK. I came here after reading about the dim sum buffet on Xiaohongshu. To be honest, I read a lot of different posts and there are always some recommendations. After eating it, I think to be fair, the food is OK. All the spicy oil platter dim sum are delicious and very in line with southern tastes. The dandan noodles are full of ingredients and sauce. I feel like the kitchen chef is very generous with the ingredients. There is so much minced meat that even the noodles are bottomed out and there is still some leftover haha. We had a shaomai platter. It’s rare to eat shaomai with pure meat filling. It was quite surprising. The skin was thin and the filling was thick. A friend came here a while ago and said the environment was very good. It was great to sit by the window and watch the night view of Soho. However, the service was very poor. There was an older waiter who was very rude. He seemed to be the manager. I was worried that they would order too much when eating the buffet. , has always been very disdainful. This time we came and were directly assigned to a table downstairs. We didn’t have a chance to see the window view, which was a pity at first. But the guys and girls at the front desk are so cute, they don't roll their eyes, and they greet everyone with smiles. Then I want to talk about the service downstairs. I think it is the ceiling of Chinese food service in London. The girl who took care of us downstairs had twin ponytails (Shui Bingyue style), she was very cute. The service attitude was very warm and considerate. My friend would cough in places with insufficient ventilation, so she immediately went to pour water for us to drink. There were several tables downstairs where families ate, and she was able to chat happily with the adults and children, and even gave lollipops to the children. The atmosphere on the whole floor is super good. My friend doesn’t like chicken dumplings very much, so during the second round, she told us to replace the chicken dumplings with shrimp. I'm from the south and can't eat spicy food very well. I was worried that the dandan noodles would be too spicy, so she told the kitchen to make it less spicy. In the end, the dandan noodles had a perfect taste. He kept running up and down the two floors to refill our drinks. Finally, we recommended bars and pubs in Soho that are worth visiting. I was very happy with this meal, which completely diluted my regret of not being able to sit upstairs. If the service fee in some Chinese restaurants is for comfortable seats and delicious food, the service fee for Baozi is entirely due to good service. Thank you to the kind-hearted Nimo.

We came here for unlimited dimsum for £25 which included fizzy drinks unlimited too. Sounds like goof value for money. However one of the servers ruined the experience for us. She's the oldest amongst the waitress with no people skills at all. Either she approached you with rudeness and was touching our plates even though we weren't done yet. Warning you have to finish everything or they'll charge you which I get. However we ordered the crab soup which tasted like saltwater there's no way you'll finish it. Bowl so small we only had 2 tsp roughly shared by my friend. As we were about to get our bill she shouted that if we don't finish the food we will be charged extra. I'd rather go to unlimited dimsum in ping pong than encounter that awful woman again.

The food is okay but the service is unacceptably bad. We booked a table for 3 for the Limitless Dim Sum Feast on a Saturday afternoon. For starters, they forgot our beverage order (tap water). Bits of our order only started trickling in 20 minutes after we placed them. It took close to a whole hour before all the items in our first order were served - with repeated reminders. This was happening while other diners who arrived after us were being served their orders - exact dishes we had also ordered. The restaurant is understaffed. Two of the waitresses we interacted with were also clearly unable to communicate in English. They were anxious and uncertain when we tried to ask about our order and we had to resort to speaking in mandarin. The food is passable, the dumplings would arrive stuck to each other (suggesting they might have been reheated from frozen). The dumpling skin is thick and clumpy. Only the small plates stood out - the salt and pepper baby squid was decent, the "sexy cucumber" was also a refreshing palate cleanser. The other redeeming aspect of our experience was the non-enforcement of the 75-minute time limit, which would have been unreasonable with tardy service. Temper your expectations if you are intending to visit.

Did not even attend this restaurant - I called to make a booking and was 'greeted' by an unfriendly host who made no effort to sound friendly. After arranging a booking, I asked if it was possible to write a note saying it was my partner's birthday, so if they could do anything to make the experience that little better it would be hugely appreciated. She acted like I had asked for our bill to be written off! Replying with "I'm not sure about that...", after saying I had worked in hospitality, and confirming I was not asking for a discount or for a free dessert, I said in my experience, typically on someone's birthday we might add some flowers on a desert, or make a cocktail that little jazzier, could you provide anything like that? she replied with "no we don't do anything like that, do you still want to book?". I said no, the worst service I have ever had over the phone and I never even went into the restaurant, I can completely understand some of the 'unfriendly' reviews I have seen below.

The small plates weren't bad but the "dim sum" itself (if you could even call it that) was chewy, tasteless and so subpar. The buns were thick and dry and the soups were too salty. We booked the afternoon for the evening and it was great! Very nicely decorated restaurant, large choice of dishes (all delicious!) and top service! We had the baby squids, argentina prawns, bao platter and sweet baos; everything was excellent. Well located and very reasonable price. We can only recommend this place!

First of the food here is amazing and delicious. Cannot fault it. Would eat here again. However the service needs work. One of the dishes we ordered never appeared. One of the tables next to us was given the wrong bill and the other one was given a cheaper dish than the one they had ordered. I have no idea if we just went on a bad night but I would expect more. I got the impression because of it’s position that they don’t have lots of return g customers so they can get away will below par service. However food is delicious so if you do go be prepared to not get everything you order, have different dishes subbed in or even pay for someone else’s food.

BaoziInn in Soho is a fantastic place for Chinese food. The atmosphere is cozy, and the smell of spices hits you as soon as you enter. They also serve delicious noodles and dumplings. Plus, the staff are super polite and attentive, making sure you have a great experience. It's a perfect spot for anyone who loves Chinese dishes. Highly recommend checking it out.

Good food, small portions at high prices, we had to eat with a jacket due to the cold... very friendly staff. They gave us a 20% discount for next time.

Dinner with a friend on a Friday night. Arrived for our booking and was seated without delay, unfortunately we were seated downstairs in an area that has the atmosphere of prison cell. Chipped painted walls, with framed posters of someone I can only assume Chairman Mao. I honestly think the standard red plastic stools of street restaurants in China would have been more appropriate. Staff were friendly and helpful but that was when they could actually understand us. One girl had limited english so even though she was very helpful and happy to assist, some questions or comments fell on deaf ears. Mainly when we asked for the soup to come out first but arrived well after the other main meals were served. The food was good and arrived quickly. Some of the nicest Chinese I have had in London in comparison to food in China but I won't say it was amazing. Just good food is how I would summarise. Price wise, it isn't cheap either. 2 x Wonton soups, Crab noodles, shredded beef, mixed dumplings, Pak choi and 2 x tea - over £100 Worth a visit, yes, was it anything exceptional, not in my opinion.

This restaurant had good food but it was pricey for what it was. It’s badly in need of some TLC - they may be aiming for shabby-chic but ripped vinyl seats and narrow hard wooden benches is a step too far! The tables were too small to accommodate several dishes. Wine list was ok but, again, a bit on the expensive side. On the whole, I think it would be easy to find a better restaurant in this area.

Beware!! Tourist trap. Food was way overpriced for what you get. Very basic chinese food that you would get from a takeaway. Price per course between £15-£20. Not including rice. Staff was friendly and attentive. Bill for 2 people with 2 mains and 2 drinks came to £67.

I was attracted by a bowl of crab noodles and checked into the restaurant. I thought it was an authentic Chinese restaurant, but I didn't expect it to be a fusion of creative Southeast Asian flavors~ Generally speaking, it's good and cheap, the quality of the ingredients is very particular, and every dish is beautifully presented. 🍽️Baozilnn Soho store 🌟Recommended dishes 🦀️Crab noodles have a completely different flavor from domestic crab roe noodles. I often make domestic crab roe noodles at home and have published several tutorials, but this is my first time to try crab noodles with Southeast Asian flavors. It’s sweet and spicy. The flavor is more layered with black fish roe. Instead of being greasy like crab roe, it has the deliciousness of crab powder. Every noodle is covered with sauce. 🦞Saba Seafood, a Southeast Asian-style seafood mixed dish, the merchant is very generous with the ingredients, the scallops are super big, the prawns and squid are all very fresh, friends with heavy tastes recommend this dish 🥧The dim sum platter, their dim sum is not only beautiful to look at, but also delicious. Each color has a different taste. You can taste the large shrimp meat in the filling, and the boss said that the color of the dough is pure vegetable juice, not pigment. 🍖The beef ribs with mushrooms should be made from the famous beef short ribs. The portion is large, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The dipping taste is very unique, and the taste of the mushrooms is just right. 🍆Zucchini and eggplant with black bean sauce. Zucchini and eggplant are fried so they are crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. I personally think eggplant is more delicious than zucchini. With the sauce on the outside, this is the first dish to be eliminated at this table. 🥩Secret Lamb Chops with Sydney Pear Salad. I feel that the flavor of this dish is comparable to our Xinjiang grilled lamb chops. The taste is very rich. The front notes are curry and nature, and the back notes are fruity and sweet spicy sauce. It is soothing and unique. 🍹His special cocktails are also delicious, including lychee martini and BaoziInn special cocktails. The citrus flavor is very fresh and the sweetness is moderate.

Me and my partner stopped here for lunch during our short break in London and we are so glad we did. The food was absolutely incredible, so tasty and fresh. The service was just as amazing with kind and attentive staff where nothing was too much trouble, only issue was we underestimated portion sizes and unfortunately didn’t finish it all which made us sad as it was so good! Highly recommend

A super delicious creative restaurant 🍽, which combines Chinese food and Malaysian flavor. It is very particular about both taste and presentation. I heard that the owner is a hotelier, so he is very particular about the appearance and quality of the dishes. At the beginning, I went for this restaurant’s 🦀️crab noodles. The taste is very layered, combining the sweet and spicy taste of Southeast Asia with the salty and fresh taste of crab noodles. The combination of fish roe and shredded crab meat makes the taste fuller. The Zucchini and Eggplant with Black Bean Sauce is amazing as a vegetarian dish. The cubes of zucchini and eggplant are wrapped in crispy skin, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and paired with a delicious sauce. It is the first dish to be plated. The secret lamb chops with Sydney salad are comparable to the French lamb chops. The strong aroma of curry goes well with the tender lamb chops. After careful aftertaste, there is a light fruity aroma. I am very curious about how this dish was invented. Mushroom Beef Ribs🥩The tender short ribs and the crispy skin have a unique taste. It goes well with the grilled mushrooms and is worth savoring with the fragrant dipping sauce. The Sabah seafood dish also uses a very unique sauce, which has a light wasabi flavor. The portion is also very generous, 🦐 there are a lot of shrimps and big scallops! At the same time, it is very suitable to eat with the homemade dim sum platter in the store. The colorful shrimp dumplings and vegetable buns look very appetizing. I heard from the boss that the dim sum is also very particular about the coloring. Different from ordinary artificial coloring, roasted vegetables are used. Generated natural color. It is also worth mentioning that the cocktails prepared by this store are also very good. The baozilnn special blend of lychee martini and grapefruit has a fruity fragrance and is not sweet at all.

Celebrated Women's Little Christmas here! Not an obvious choice but a great one. The prosecco was flowing and very tasty. The dumplings , prawns , bao buns etc were so good. The service was friendly and prompt. A fine unassuming spot to raise a glass with dear friends and put the rollercoaster year of 2023 to bed properly

I went to Baozilnn for my birthday and it was really disappointing. The service wasn't great, we were ignored and after waiting ages had to flag down a waitress to take our order. The room we were in was cold and draughty with zero ambiance. It felt quite shabby and empty. The waitress refused to let us swap seats to a less draughty table (as mentioned, they were all empty) until we managed to persuade her to let us move. Food was average and there was no soy sauce on the table - they would only give us tiny dishes of it when asked (we had steamed rice, which was pretty dry without). I wouldn't recommend or return.

Absolutely mouth-watering dim sum in a quiet and comfortable setting. We came at around 1p (reservations are a MUST) and were seated quickly. We ordered only from the dim sum menu and were glad we did. We were treated to some of the best dim sum this side of Kowloon! The restaurant was such a nice contrast from what you get on Gerrard or any of the surrounding Chinatown streets. Quiet, uncrowded and with exceptional service. I can't recommend highly BaoziInn enough!

A hidden gem in Wallington, food is so tasty that I can eat it everyday! Their Singapore fried rice variants are all so tasty and salt and pepper chicken is over the moon. It’s Bly of they have accepted the card, but nevermind, taste of the food compensates for that.

Una cucina di livello, piccante ma senza esagerazioni. Spettacoloso il piatto di pollo ai tre peperoncini. Buone le verdure.

Very disappointed after paying £833 being told we had to give the table back! We didn’t have tea or coffee which we are used to have after a meal. Would not recommend for a relaxed evening out. We arrived on time and needed to be out in 2 hours!! Will not recommend and not go back.
