Takeaway food... Very hot spicy thick dark curry sauce....unlike any other Chinese I've had....way too spicy. The chips were rock hard and dry as a bone...uneatable Won't be going again

Our last l takeaway was really bad but thought we would give it another try as this last year food has been decent. But it’s a no no no! Chicken chow mein had 3 slithers of chicken, dry no flavour. Hard to swallow! The curry sauce too sweet inedible. They are cutting costs which is totally obvious. Will never get food from here again. Would give a zero if I could!

We wanted to celebrate a special occasion with our children and decided to try this restaurant for a change. We had the buffet menu to get a good array of dishes and it did not disappoint. The food was varied and very tasty. Thank you for a lovely evening

Delicious food and super service. Mapo tofu was delicious, as was twice cooked belly pork. Can’t wait to go back and try the lip tingling chicken! Friendly service too

This evening i ordered a prawn curry with egg fried rice , as a treat. and I found a black hair in the sauce. Such a shame. Wouldn't order from here again or recommend.

don’t bother. dry, chewy, flavourless chow mein. rice felt undercooked with little flavour also. sweet and sour chicken wasn’t cooked properly either. not worth spending money here, shame as the staff were nice

Lovely Food and Lovely staff Crispy beef made my day never tried anything more tasty chilli beef anywhere else Much recommended will surely give another go

Firstly, i have to say, i have just come on here to leave a review and i am shocked at some of the previous reviews. My wife and i have just returned home from a wonderful evening at The Mayflower. This isn't our first time here but i forgot to leave a review the last time, but this time this place blew us away and i had to. The food and service this evening was top drawer, Jack and Pheobe were rushed off their feet this evening, but handled the restaurant like true professionals with a constant smile on their faces and a professionalism that would put other restaurants to shame. I am only sorry i couldn't meet the chefs and thank them too, as the food was out of this world. This is without doubt THE chinese eat in restaurant in the Clacton/Holland area. Thank you so much guys, we will be returning again and again.

Tiny portions and really expensive. Food wasn’t great and some of the dishes were not very warm. Definitely won’t be returning.

Checking times. Tonight. OCT 2023 Closed for refurbishment. I have to say it's the only Local Chinese Restaurant to sit in. The other two are Take Aways. I took a Take Away home. A Beef Curry (sauce a little hot)(not your normal curry sauce, in house made.) and Plain Boiled Rice. Also Fried Noodle (thin type) and Beef (not chow mein) (there are a bits of green pepper, mushrooms, in it) also asked for Bean Sprouts with added onion, (perfect) Fried Rice and Sweet and Sour Sauce. (It had in it onions, cucumber, carrots and chucks of pineapple. Got to be made in house and fresh).

Amazing venue - we had table of 18 for my birthday and it was the perfect evening. Staff, food & performer were all wonderful and it’s such a great vibe. Thank you for making it so special!!
