The best restaurants in United Kingdom serving Chinese food

When our beloved Chinese restaurant closed in battersea, we were unsure which new place we'd like but after a video seen on Instagram, we tried McChina and loved it! It's not the same as the one we've known for 20+ years, however, it has the same warmth, welcoming and family atmosphere that can be appreciated from a well established local restaurant. The food is great, staff lovely and pricing reasonable 👌🏾 I've been twice already and look forward to going back soon.

La comida es encantadora - hemos tenidotres cabos, todos deliciosos. Lo único que echa a perder el restaurante son los dos hombres del personal , uno parece un propietario quizás y el otro jefe de camareros . En cada ocasión han sido hoscos y hoy francamente groseros. Nada de reunirse y saludar o sonreír cuando entras y hace unas semanas cuando estaba esperando en el cabo , el hombre que creo que es el propietario estaba explicando con bastante rabia a un miembro del personal cómo cortar limones y limas , luego consiguió que le mostrara cómo lo hizo que parecía bueno y le dijeron que no - lo tomó bien . Tenía unos 50 años. Estaba tan avergonzado por ella. Mientras tanto mi cabo estaba sentado allí. Finalmente me lo dieron. No fui hoy y otra vez ningún saludo y hosco. Dije solo efectivo para llevar a cabo que estaba bien, pero eso parecía ser un problema. Qué pena que el lugar se ve encantador y la comida deliciosa, pero tan postergada por los hombres que se encuentran con usted a su llegada.

The food wasn’t all that well, overpriced, small portions didn’t like it whatsoever. I do not recommend it. The food was coming out too fast wasn’t cooked properly.

I only visited after work colleagues recommend it. Wished I never went after checking the Hygiene rating! How can a restaurant still be a ONE STAR Hygiene rating for 4 months since August 2024? Has no improvements been made? Felt sick afterwards knowing I eaten here..

If you’re after a proper, no-nonsense Chinese meal in Liverpool, Mr Chilli’s on Seel Street (just off Berry Street) is a solid choice. We ordered the Stewed Pangasius Fillet with Pickled Vegetable, (Pickled Vegetable Stewed Fish Fillet), Fried Bean Curd in Chilli Sauce, and Fried Soft Noodles — and it was one of the more satisfying meals I’ve had in a while. The Stewed Pangasius Fillet was the highlight — a deep, savoury broth with just the right level of sourness from the pickled vegetables. The fish itself was tender and plentiful, and the broth had that addictive quality that kept us going back for more. The Fried Bean Curd in Chilli Sauce was superb — silky tofu inside, crisp outside, bathed in a rich, spicy sauce that packed a good punch without being overwhelming. It paired really well with the fish and made the whole meal feel more substantial. The Fried Soft Noodles were a good call as a side, soaking up all the flavours without being too greasy. They had a nice bit of wok char, which gave them a slightly smoky finish — very moreish. Service was quick and efficient, with the focus clearly on delivering excellent food. If you like your food properly spiced, generously portioned, and full of bold flavours, Mr Chilli’s on Seel Street is well worth a visit. I’d absolutely go back — next time, I might even brave one of their notorious extra spicy dishes.

Best Chinese meal we have ever had - We come over from County Durham a couple of times a year, well worth the travel and expense, truly superb!

Great food and value for money! We had the saver menu which was four courses. All of the food was delicious. The restaurant is spacious and clean. My only criticism is they could have done with a couple more waiting staff as it did get busy while we were there and the staff were run off their feet! Would definitely recommend.

Sunday buffet Food didn’t looked appetizing at all It was very disappointing had to keep requesting Fresh dishes as only had scraps left in the trays Limited selection of poorly made food It wasn’t worth the money Won’t be visiting Peking Garden again

Great place, good atmosphere and friendly staff

Dreadful experience. Arrived at 8.15 to a frosty reception - "the kitchen closes at 9" we were informed. Service was quick but sullen. At 9 they even turned the heating off and cleared the table while we were still sitting! One female waiter even pushed me in her hurry to grab the plates! Food ok but there are many more welcoming restaurants to choose from.

The food was ok, but the young waitress was so rude. She was ruthlessly singing a song in the restaurant even though everyone could hear her; she also carried a big booger on her face which was so discussing.

Love this place, local favourite, usually for takeaway but the restaurant itself is nice too.
