Louise cooked dinner for eight of us at the Five Turrets in Selkirk. It was a family celebration and as we were having drinks and nibbles Louise arrived with minimal disruption. Louise cooked, served us at the table and then cleared away leaving the kitchen space perfectly clean and tidy. The food was amazing! The Beef Wellington cooked to perfection. The experience for us was wonderful. Restaurant quality food in a relaxed 'home' setting. Thank you Louise and thanks to the Five Turrets for the recommendation.

Group of 3 couple and. Great Dane warmly welcomed for dinner on Friday night and then back for drinks on Saturday to watch the F1 qualifier which the manager kindly out on one set of screens for us. Great food, brilliant atmosphere with lively banter and a good out door under cover and heated area for drink and music as well as sports on TV. Manager and his staff were excellent, calm despite being busy, welcoming and helpful. The manager deserves recognition for a well run but easy going establishment that we would highly recommend. We will be back on our next trip.

We turned up, with our two dogs, at 7.30 on a Thursday eve. One table was free and the staff very kindly asked the dog owning diners already on the adjacent tables if their dogs would be ok with ours next to them, really nice touch. Thankfully, fellow dog owners were happy to have us sit among them. So, service: really good 👍 Ambience: We were sitting in close proximity to other dog owners so we had a lovely time 😊👍 Food: honestly, starters were great but mains were absolutely to die for! He had the fillet steak, he's a trained chef and a bit of o steak expert... said it was the best steak he's ever eaten 😊 Fish pie for me, oh my, absolutely delicious 😋 I'd definitely recommend eating here 👍

Can’t get more central in Melrose than the Townhouse. Convenient to all of the independent shops and starting point for walks. Parking is good both on-street and hotel carpark. A family owned hotel run with obvious pride. Smartly dressed staff, friendly and helpful. Superb breakfast (we’ll return for dinner.) Our room was spacious and stylish with a great view over the square and to the Eildon hills. Everywhere was immaculate. Can’t recommend enough.

Great welcome. Lots of outside tables in the current sunshine. Afternoon tea, dinner and breakfast all delicious. Dog friendly. Good size car park and nice view of fields and hillside. House martins nesting, crows crowing and a nice lane and path to Oxton for a dog walk. Only downside is daytime traffic noise but this will improve as we electrify transport! On the other of that it is very convenient for the A68 as a pit stop!

We ordered a takeaway afternoon tea for three for Mother’s Day and were not disappointed with the amazing selection we received for a very reasonable price. Everything was very fresh and tasty, from the finger sandwiches to the homemade quiche and sausage rolls, the macarons, tiny cakes and scones with jam. Displayed on my folding afternoon tea platter it certainly looked the part for a wonderful Mother’s Day afternoon celebration whilst staying at the nearby Castleview Holiday Lodges at Lauder.

This hotel has lots of cosy, quirky corners as well as an impressive larger dining room. We were here for Sunday lunch (note - this menu differs from other days) and were presented with a reasonable choice of well priced mains. Everyone's food was lovely (the roast beef was cooked superbly) - generous portions and beautifully presented. However there was no mention of small portion options which many places now offer - one of the group struggled to even eat even half of the meal (and sadly couldn't even consider dessert) so while the food was lovely, it would have been nice to have had more appropriate options for folk with smaller appetites without wasting food.
