Treacle soda bread, ham hock terrine, east coast lagoustines and scallops, the most delicious pulled beef Wellington, affogato with maison ice cream...what's not to like? Seasons offers the very best of local ingredients cooked with respect and served with evident joy. Will return.

Delicious Sunday lunch with family whilst on holiday near Melrose. Two of us had the Sunday roast (beef) which was very good with all the trimmings cooked well. The other meals were very good too. We had a warm welcome and friendly and efficient waiters. We sat outside in the sun which added to the experience but the dining room also looked nice.

I’m disappointed. Whilst the food was lovely, the service was shocking to say the least. The gentleman’ with the grey hair was plain rude. When entering an establishment and making my order I expect at least some type of warmth, conversation or general manners. We sat down and within seconds this gentleman arrived at our table asking for our order. We weren’t ready and this appeared to annoy him and he quite literally stormed away . He presented as abrupt, and quite honestly ruined our first visit. It’s basic manners. Nothing special. A ‘hello’ or any other type of engagement is all that’s required. We won’t be back. I really dislike leaving bad reviews but on this occasion I feel I must, as our experience was completely ruined by someone who lacked any warmth or human kindness.

Arranged to meet a friend for lunch and we were very impressed from start to finish. We were greeted by Courtney who showed us to comfortable chairs beside a warm radiator. This was welcome because Storm Jocelyn was brewing outside. She took our drinks order and brought the menu board which was extensive. She explained that we could order full portions or smaller ones. We both decided to have the breaded haddock, one full portion and one smaller. We chose well because we could find no fault with our meal. Fresh haddock well cooked is hard to beat and it was. The chips were perfectly done and home made coleslaw and salad were delicious. We both agreed that we had to post a review with our positive thoughts. Well done Lauderdale hotel and Courtney. We’ll be back!

Just had a delicious roast beef sunday lunch here today. Large portion with plenty of vegetables…. And then a massive side portion of delicious cauliflower cheese. .. each! Very dog friendly and lovely staff. Totally recommend if you’re in the area.

Oh dear! This used to be a lovely place to eat. The current management leaves a lot to be desired. Staffing all very amateurish. Several items missing from the menu because "they were waiting for deliveries." Couldn't even remember to bring the requested water to table. Food perfectly acceptable but nothing very exciting although still relatively expensive. I notice that the accompanying photos on this site are from the days of previous ownership. Nothing like as cosy now. Not in a hurry to revisit.

Called in for Sunday lunch as this hotel is close to where we are staying. The menu looked promising and the decor was really nice with pleasant waiters. However, when our lunches were served we both looked at each other as we could tell by looking at the plates that we were going to be disappointed. The roast beef was served with a large yorkshire pudding, 3 small roast potatoes that were soggy rather than crispy a huge portion of red cabbage that had lost all its colour, undercooked broccoli and a small portion of carrots that were tasty (the best thing on the plate) There was a very small coating of watery gravy on the meat. The meat was tough and had no flavour and the whole thing was only luke warm. A bit disappointing
