What a lovely little cafe overlooking the harbour at Weymouth. We received the warmest of welcomes, and we were lucky enough to get a seat in the window. The coffee was lovely and my 9 year old son gave the milkshake with cream and marshmallows top marks. We had a small breakfast and eggs Benedict with bacon and Hollandaise sauce, which was beautiful. I highly recommend stopping here for breakfast and we'll be back soon. Thank you to the super staff working today , 8th July 2024 x

Popped in for a Saturday lunch. The place was packed. The staff were ran of their feet but the server let us know she would be with us soon and couldn’t have been more apologetic. We did want to have some cakes but nobody came back to clear the table despite it quieting down. Food was tasty.

Visited for lunch. Overpriced food and poor quality . Service was awful and not the fault of the young waiter who unfortunately had just started . Price for lasagne on the specials was extortionate ! Wouldn’t have minded but it was tasteless and I think chef forgot to add the sauce . Curry was tasty but sauce very watery . If the waiting staff had done a check back then would have told them at the time but no check back . We did say to the senior waitress about lasagne when collecting plates and the response was yeah ! . Waitress brought a glass of wine to table but left dirty glasses sitting ? When paying bill and asked if all ok when I said no I was told I should have told them at check back when I said we had no check back young lad who had just started was told off but actually was older lady who served us! Was given a bottle of wine as an apology . Much preferred to have had the uneaten food removed from bill but better than nothing .

Absolutely gutted to find this place had ceased trading, since our last visit in August 22. This hidden gem was part of our journey down south for the past 7 years, after stumbling on it by accident. It offered a hearty meal for a fraction of the price they charge, at a service station

Stopped in Moffat en route to Glasgow on business. Unfortunately,I had the misfortune to be served by an extremely unfriendly and unhelpful sales assistant. This type of person used to be know as a chav. Whoever owns the business needs to be more careful who they hire. The sandwich wasn't even third rate and ended up in the bin. Take my advice give this bakers a miss.

This cafe has a really distinctive menu for its size with a choice of meat- fish- and plant-based dishes. They were extremely attentive to a very unusual dietary issue which involved them adapting several elements of one of their menu items. Both waiter and chef spoke to me before we settled on a dish. This was all handled in really friendly manner.

Very disappointed. Lukewarm coffee, cold sausage rolls, very slow service. Redeeming feature, the delicious fruit scones. Tasty, fruity and enjoyable. Overall, overpriced and not impressed

Recently changed owners who have spent a fortune upgrading the property both inside and outside. The menu has been upgraded too and both the food and service are first class. The Sunday carvery is magnificent. The staff are exceedingly pleasant and nothing is too much trouble to them. There is now live music weekly by local musicians and everyone is welcome. All this and dog friendly too. A Moffat Gem.

Decided to break the journey from SE England to the Highlands with a stop at Lockerbie. The King's Arms is a wonderfully welcoming hotel, with great staff. It was a bit of a treat to stay somewhere that wasn't a big corporate chain, and that had a personal feel. The room was well appointed and cosy, and the food was incredible. Really lovely staff made the experience one I would definitely recommend. Thank you!

We were lucky to arrive before the coaches did so more or less had the place to ourselves. Very good value for money. A single cheese melt in the high street would set you back £12, without a coffee. We went for the tea for two at the wool mill for £18. There was enough to feed 4 and the same with the coffee we chose. The staff are all kind and down to Earth. They provided us with a box that we could take the excess cakes we couldn't eat. It was the Christmas tea for two which included the turkey, stuffing and cranberry sandwiches. Too much cranberry for me so made the sandwiches a bit too much like jam sandwiches for me. This aside, I would recommend and will return. Was all good and well worth the money. Home made mince pies and scones were very good.
