We had a break in Moffat on our outward tour jny and a break on our return jny today. This cafe is great for food and variety of scones etc. It was a pleasure to visit on both occasions and enjoy food etc and the friendliness of the staff and cleanliness of premises. thank you

Mutchies Munchies is a delightful cafe in Moffat. We were there for a couple of nights in September and had breakfasts, coffee and scones and a lunch there and all were high quality. It's a nice, bright place and very welcoming, I got the impression that the family running it are very proud of it and with good reason. We'll be back in Moffat next year and will most definitely return.

We waited over 20 minutes for a simple take out order of a roll & bacon, two rolls and link sausage and a ham salad roll, the woman who served us was friendly however from there it went down hill, we were asked to sit outside to wait while it started to rain, from what I could see through into the kitchen the staff in there weren’t really doing much. Once we eventually got our order we went back to the our car to eat and found that they had just put in a strange looking ham Salad in a box without a roll or even a fork to attempt to eat it with. My daughter bacon was yellow colour and not very nice. Worst cafe food we’ve had in a long time. Kindly the woman serving gave us two free drinks for our wait time however there is a lot of improving required to improve on service in every other area.

really enjoyed my lunch here today, delicious lentil soup with a very tasty cheese and onion toasty. I had a pot of tea which made two cups and loved it. staff were very friendly and made me feel welcome. I am happy to pay with cash as I understand how difficult it is to try to pay those charges when you are a small business.

Stopped of in Moffat for a cup of tea and found this place. Superb. Hidden gem. What else can you call it. Home baked scones and cakes delicious. Staff were very nice. Menu look delicious. Would highly recommend

I thought I'd got my timing wrong when I arrived as the breakfast menu was being replaced by the lunchtime menu, however I was pleasantly surprised by the lunchtime menu. I nursed a lovely Latte served in a nice big mug, and admired the nicely decorated room where a group were complimenting each other on the choice of the Sausages and Haggis in their breakfast. My lunchtime menu arrived and tucked in the varied menu was 'fish fingers'. This was a must for me. This definitely wasn't a children's serving, it's was for adults just like me !!! 6 freshly cooked flavoursome fish fingers stacked next to chunky chips, a small side salad, complete with homemade coleslaw and tartar sauce. I devoured the lot, along with a 2nd latte. The toilets were spotless, with liquid soap and paper towels and nice hot water. With very pleasant and helpful staff, wonderful bright interior including lovely individually decorated tables and chairs, it's a must for those stopping off in Moffat for a well earned rest. Personally, I saw it as a little treat. I've visited in the past, and will return again. This is a small independent business and payment is by cash, so be prepared. There's a Bank a couple of hundred yards away.

Stopped here for brunch while staying locally. Good selection of food and drink options. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The food was ok and perhaps our disappointment was down to our choices. My baked potato was undercooked. The bacon in the sandwiches was very fatty. The fruit scone on our neighbours table looked rather nice though. I asked for dairy free milk for my tea and was impressed the server checked about no butter on the potato before serving it. That rarely happens in other cafes! Unlike another reviwer we paid by card with no issue. The prices are reasonable and I'd come back for tea and cake

Food was overpriced but absolutely adequate. Probably the biggest issue here was that they only take cash. Presumably there are reasons for that ;). Anyway, we haven't carried cache or even cards since 2020 when a certain pandemic hit. They told us there was an ATM across the road. It wasn't. Most of the way down the high street and we had to pass two other cafes to get there before having the means to pay for our lunch, which was okay. This one needs to join the 21st century but presumably survives because tourists will put up with a lot. There weren't any local ones

Complete waste of money and utter disappointment. I don’t know how it’s possible to mess up a Scottish breakfast but this place achieved it… I asked for a full breakfast which only came with tea and the waitress would not swap this for a coffee, this was extra. Overall, overpriced and poor quality of food

Excellent food very friendly if your in moffet or just passing through give it a try we were staying on the camp site and called in for our breakfast every morning.

Amazing full Scottish breakfast! All cooked perfectly and such fresh food. Lovely friendly and welcoming staff. Clean and perfect service. Would recommend to everyone passing Moffat!! We will definitely come back here for another breakfast when we are back up north. Perfect visit!

Popped in for coffee n cake but the lure of a hot bowl of lentil soup was too much so had that as well ! Absolutely no complaints 👌 Staff asked us if everything was alright so the people who put negative reviews on here must've said their food was ok .These folk annoy me when they then go on and put negative reviews ! Just visit here and see for yourself .Trust me ,its great value and good food 👌

Green tea was very nice but the scone was delivered semi-frozen. Very disappointing. Would not visit again.

Stopped here for two full Scottish breakfasts which did the trick was clean freshly cooked quick and all very welcoming thx guys

My wife and I stopped at Moffat for lunch and found this cafe - what a gem! The food was great - this was our second visit in the space of a week, the staff were very friendly and helpful too. And one other thing they do that I heartily agree with - they only take cash, no card payments. As a matter of principle, I avoid any shop or restaurant that is card only.

I ordered a take away coffee with oat milk and I have to pay extra £1.60 because I asked to use oat milk. A total of £4.60 the lady charged me for buying a literally half cup of cappuccino. I’m totally robbed by these people. I’m a regular coffee drinker even costa never charged so much. Please be careful folks if you visit this place.

Visited here for breakfast today and I can see why it gets such great reviews. The staff were absolutely lovely - we had two toddlers with us and nothing was too much bother at all. Very family friendly and accommodating of children’s needs. The food was so lovely as was the cute decor. We will definitely be back and would 100% recommend a visit.

Visited the charming little town of Moffat.decided to go into Mutchies munchies cafe as it looked so vibrant and inviting.Very disappointed as the sausage was like a rubber ping pong ball and the dry tasteless roll was awful.coffee tasteless.total waste of money.Extremely poor quantity and overpriced.Definitely won’t be back.No excuse for this.

I visited Mutchies Munchies today and I can understand why it often gets five stars. The staff were brilliant, the meals were reasonably priced and the psyschedelic decor is unique. My dirty mac( macaroni, cheese, bacon and black pudding) was great value for just under £10 and there was no skimping on portions. Service was excellent from the young waitress and Australian lady on the till and they coped reallty well in the 28 degree heat. I shall be returning to Mutchies Munchies and fancy trying some of their cakes next time.

We stopped for lunch a couple of days ago & enjoyed it so we called again today. It was just as good. The staff are really friendly and took our order with a smile and in a pleasant manner. I had the fish finger burger which was delicious while my partner, who wasn’t very hungry, chose a croissant with home made jam. The jam was excellent as well. This is a really charming and jolly cafe with lovely staff and delicious cakes. It’s bright and full of artwork, I think it’s the nicest cafe in Moffat.

Mutchies Munchies is the new name for Jack and Rachel’s tearoom in Moffat. I don’t know if they have changed hands but it is still a very nice, smart cafe with excellent service and a good menu of meals, snacks, cakes etc.

Visited this fantastic wee cafe on stop for lunch when travelling south. The staff were brilliant. Food was lovely and very fresh. Staff were constantly cleaning everything collected from tables and wore masks while serving. Really quirky decoration inside. Prices very reasonable. Recommend!

We stopped for a bite at lunchtime. The bowl of pasta was just under £5, but soup and one bit of crusty baugette was over £6. The soup was good, but this seem like odd pricing even if the soup is home made and flavorsome and was served with a soup spoon - a rarity these days. .Staff were friendly and helped set up extra chairs to accommodate our group. They only take cash and I think the bill was rounded down to avoid the issue of handling coins. There is choice in Moffatt and next time I might try somewhere else.

Dog friendly, water offered for pup, they also made him up a dish of chicken and cheese on request. Food is fresh, good quality and the home made coleslaw was lovely. We both had omelette today and they were big and fluffy, the flat white coffee I had was nice and hot and strong. We visited for 3 days in a row and the standard was right up there. Nice lady owner, very welcoming a def must visit if in Moffat.

Travelling through Moffat on our way home from Glasgow we stopped to eat at this cafe. What a surprise! We got a lovely welcome, the food was delicious and really presented, hot and tasty, and extremely reasonably priced. We only had the "wee breakfast" which was more than ample! The menu changed after 11.30 and there was a terrific choice of both savoury and sweet items. Nothing was too much trouble and would certainly divert off the motorway to eat here again!!

We went here on a very rainy Thursday. The inside was cosy and I loved the rainbow theme. The waitress was welcoming and warm. We had cooked breakfasts, pancakes and milkshakes, which were all yummy. I also loved the artwork on the walls. We would definitely recommend this lovely little gem xx

Fantastic place to eat, very friendly staff and superb food. We ate here on a number of occasions during our stay in Moffat it is so good. Real home made food. Would recommend the soups and toastie deals served with home made coleslaw, dressed salads and crisps. All day breakfasts were a big hit with the boys and staff happy to substitute different items to make them even more delicious. A trip to Moffat would not be the same without a visit, highly recommend.

My husband and I love a drive to Moffat. We always stopped at the tearoom at the top of the High Street. It has changed hands since last summer. Good soups, a good range of salad and sandwiches, but for me their Quiche is always on my menu.Great selection of cakes, and I notice they serve people who don’t have time to sit in, Brightly decorated. Service very cosy and personal. Even if it’s cold outside, you get such a warm welcome. Definitely be back.

After completing any of the many walks around Moffat, or simply having done our shopping - we pop into Mutchies for a late breakfast. My hubby finds the wee breakfast (bacon, sausage, egg, beans, tomato, black pudding or haggis, toast and tea just right. Me I love the coffee, and the scrambled eggs and haggis. Our dog is always made welcome and always gets a bowl of water too.

After a long walk around Moffat, we pop into this place for lunch. Really warm welcome from the staff. A lot to offer on the menu for lunch would definitely recommend this place.
