Excellent service, great coffee and cakes. I was served quickly but I am knocking a star off as it is overpriced. Great view over the Lakeif you pick a window seat.

Welcome break on a long drive. Bit of a queue but not too long a wait. Usual Costa coffee and food, to the usual high standard. Staff all very helpful and friendly.

Tuna melt wasn't too nice, to start with it didn't taste like tuna. Staff felt distant, however some were more friendly than others!

Five staff members behind the counter. One was serving the only other customer. We waited, must have turned invisible. Eventually we were noticed and served. We just had a flat white each. Coffee was fine. However £3-79 each was, we thought, extortionate. Not sure why there’s a different price structure than other Costas. Tables were cleared, no other customers. Will give this a miss when travelling to and from Scotland.

This is my favourite service stop. Used it many times at different times of the day. Stopped for a nice lunch on a beautiful sunny day. Sat behind Costa overlooking the lake. Tasty food and lovely views! Clean facilities too!

Its a Costa! Very popular services - can be busy at peak times but worth the wait if you want a coffee. Friendly staff.

Our favourite services area on the M74. Wonderful location with a view of the lake whilst you have your drinks and snacks. Usual good quality Costa coffee with good cakes and sandwiches etc. Because each drink is made fresh service can sometimes seem a bit slow buts it’s worth the wait. As usual the staff were very good and friendly.

Still the best location of any service station in the country. Recently had a makeover. Usual top quality coffee and food. Staff very pleasant and quick.

This services can be very busy and was on this occasion, all the more reason the Costa staff should be getting a finger out to get through the orders. Our coffees were being made and she stops to exchange with another barista, the customer's order should take priority, get a grip Costa. Coffee and cake ok tho.

This can be a busy place, but the service is good and friendly, and the food good. We had coffee and a hot chocolate - both drinks were good, and a blueberry muffin. This was fresh and juicy. Overall a good experience and the seating, behind the service bar, overlooks the lake.

It's a service station but in a great location next to a lake. Coffee etc is typical Costa. Rest of it could do with a decent clean but a welcome stop nevertheless.

I have visited costa on several occassions and find the service second to none. Very friendly and helpful staff and set in a beautiful location overlooking a loch filled with geese. It is slightly more expensive than high street shops but that's what to expect in a service station.

Pretty awful coffee with overpriced tray bake and mediocre service. Sorry - I have a costa card but I would recommend macdonalds next door - not great but definitely better.

A beautiful grand building in a wonderful setting. It was very quiet but the service and food were excellent. Not cheap but definitely worth it for a special occasion.

We ate here and finished our meal, the waitress cleared away and we decided we'd have another round of drinks before leaving. We waited 5, 10 minutes and the waitress never came back. I went in search of someone but couldn't find our waitress. I didn't like to open the doors to the kitchen. We waited another 5 minutes and my wife said 'this is ridiculous' and went off in pursuit. She found our waitress in the bar (was she watching TV, did she fancy the barman?) and asked if we could get some service. The waitress said 'the restaurant is closed', as if we were being unreasonable in expecting to be served a round of drinks. No, the restaurant isn't closed if you've still got people sitting at a table you're serving and you haven't asked them if they want a dessert or offered them the bill but simply buggered off. So we said OK, can we just pay the bill. Which we did, and obviously didn't leave tip. We won't be going back.

This restaurant is part of Smiths hotel at Gretna Green. We were in the final days of our holiday in Scotland and wanted to have a special meal. We were staying at the hotel and saw this had good reviews. Well it didn’t disappoint. It was good that you could pick and mix from the a la carte menu and the bar menu. Every course was very good. Because we had courses from both menus I didn’t think it was too expensive. The service was good although it was very busy with other events going on. The staff were kept busy but were still attentive to our needs. Would recommend if you want something special or just for an evening meal.

A super bed and breakfast with a lovely vegan curry and home baked ecclefechan tart in the bar which had an open fire. Steve and Mary looked after us like a mum and a big brother. Could not do enough for us including a very welcome lift to and from hoddom Bridge as we were walking the annandale way. And a packed lunch to order. Will recommend to all, especially walkers.

We had a day out yesterday and ended up here for coffee. The sign at the entrance said the cafe was open until 4.30. As it was just before 4 when we parked round the back we thought we had plenty of time. However when we entered the cafe I approached the counter to order I was told in no uncertain terms that they were shut. When I pointed out that their sign had said it was open until 4.30 the rude assistant pointed to the sign on the counter which said last orders 4. I said it was 4 and we only wanted coffees she said 'well we're shut'. You would think that after 2 years of pandemic that businesses would be grateful for any money they could get, well that's not the case in this cafe. We had been going to buy some plants but left empty handed and on the way out told the assistant in the shop that we wouldn't be back. Their loss is someone else's gain
