This cafe has a really distinctive menu for its size with a choice of meat- fish- and plant-based dishes. They were extremely attentive to a very unusual dietary issue which involved them adapting several elements of one of their menu items. Both waiter and chef spoke to me before we settled on a dish. This was all handled in really friendly manner.

Well, we didnt have much time to catch the ferry, but my daughter recommended the lazy cow, before we left. I am ever so glad she, did, the avocado ,halloumi salad was quite fantastic. I have rarely eaten better, salty , savoury with sweet cherry tomatoes, you wont be disappointed with this choice, my wife ate a bacon type salad, which was made with succulent thick cut local bacon. But i cant get over the taste experience i had with my dish, i am still dreaming of it now!. The young lad serving, explained it was his mum who was the chef, he was so very charming, spending time chatting away to me! A real credit to this lovely eateries, all made from scratch! I will include. A photo, just to show hot visually appetising this food was, so fresh and super tasty. My wife had the hot chocolate and she loved it, whilst my grandson only wanted curly fries, which he told me was the best he’d tasted. A real credit to the whole island of mull. It was worth almost missing the ferry for. Thank you

What a fantastic place! The best BLT ever, great service, lovely atmosphere and all in a glorious setting. We timed our visit just right as shortly after our arrival, a short queue formed waiting for a free table. If they didn't already know it, their wait would certainly be worth it. The friendly, efficient staff were really on the ball and made our visit a real treat. The menu is wonderfully concise, using local ingredients, prepared and presented perfectly. This place will definitely be on our must visit list on our next Mull holiday.

Modern, quirky, welcoming place. We stopped off on our way to Fionnphort and had lunch. I choose a BLT, the tastiest with the freshest ingredients I've eaten. The bacon was plentiful and tasted great with fresh tomatoes and oak leaf salad on sourdough bread. The curly fries were cooked to perfection too. We actually came back for a coffee on the way back and the caramel latte was delicious. The owner and chef is from New Zealand and was lovely to chat to with her son. Would definitely recommend. Only shame was that we couldn't take our dog with us.

Lovely modern cafe, with magnificent views. Extremely popular, so get there early. Delicious cakes and great meals leaving the kitchen. We had lunch and cakes on another day. Everyone loved the flock of sheep outside, such a unique experience. The staff were very busy each time we called but extremely friendly. Definitely worth a trip if you’re in the area.

Visited twice during our recent trip to Mull. Coffee and cake on visit 1, then lunch on the return. Lovely experience on both occasions, nice spacious surroundings with wonderful views. We drank our coffee whilst watching deer and a magnificent stag on the distant hills. We tried 3 cakes which were all lovely, with the apricot, fig and coconut sponge being exceptionally delicious. Wonderful

This is a beautiful spacious cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. It faces the fields and a tiny pond. I ordered a hot chocolate and the salad with the halloumi cheese. It was refreshing. Items are fresh and local. The best part was seeing the owner's sheep and ducks grazing in the field while I enjoyed my lunch.

Visited The Lazy Cow for Sunday Brunch with family. We received a very warm welcome from the staff (Sandra, Joanne, Claudia and Rory) who were very prompt in providing us with menus and drinks. When the food came it was absolutely amazing! The restaurant has a very varied menu and all the food is freshly prepared by the owner. We can’t wait to return on our next visit to Mull and I’ve already recommended it to friends who are visiting the area 😀

After 3 visits we got excellent service with a smile and a courteous welcome. We were served promptly and the food was very enjoyable. It's always wise in the catering business to keep the customer informed with a smile and an explanation if there is going to be a substantial wait for service. It costs nothing but will be more appreciated than ignoring the paying customer

As it’s a small popular place booking in advance is probably recommended. We were looking for a table on a Saturday night during the Spring Fling event in the region so left a message with the restaurant whilst traveling to Kirkcudbright. The owner returned the call and fortunately, thanks to a cancellation, was able to arrange our reservation for dinner the following night - a promising start. On the evening of our visit the bistro was busy however there was still a relaxed ambiance about the place. The sole waitress taking orders and attending to the tables was pleasant and seemed knowledgeable about the menu and the only other member of staff appeared to be the owner/chef. He popped out and chatted with us towards the end of service to allow the waitress to get home as a few diners like us were finishing off drinks and still to receive their desserts and settle their bills. He seemed sociable and relaxed and clearly hadn’t adopted the Gordon Ramsay approach to the restaurant business. Being a small place we were not surprised at the outset that the menu was limited to about half a dozen items per course including specials however it gave a decent choice in our view. We both ordered a “special” for starters - Tempura Battered Prawns (£7.95). As was the case throughout the evening, the dish was served up to the table in good time. Six king prawns each with a sweet chilli sauce with a salad garnish and balsamic. It was a tasty start. For mains my wife ordered the Seabass, served with king prawns, a white wine & tomato sauce and fresh vegetables (£21.00). I had Duck a L’Orange (£21.95) which was another item from the specials board. Neither of the mains dishes would be winning prizes for presentation however most importantly they both tasted good. The fish was nicely cooked and my wife enjoyed the other parts of the dish. The duck was also good albeit the chef was later surprised I’d left the fat on the plate. I queried if people normally ate the fat and he commented that they often do and that he rendered it to make it more appealing. Thankfully this was not an overly fatty duck breast in any case but I was quite happy to leave the small amount I did on the plate. For dessert my wife had Sticky Toffee Pudding with ice cream and I had a Citrus Tart served with a small selection of fresh berries and cream. The puddings were £6.50 each and both enjoyable. Overall we liked our experience at the bistro and with our three course meal for two costing just under £72 we thought it was reasonable value for money. We had added a bottle of NZ Yealands Sauvignon Blanc wine for £25 only just keeping the bill under £100. A walk to the harbour to watch the sunset as we headed back to our accommodation rounded off the evening well.
