The best restaurants serving British food in Barraigh, Bhatarsaigh, Eirisgeigh agus Uibhist a Deas Eilean Siar Highlands and Islands

Founds this pop-up by accident one day and made a point of returning the next. Brilliant local seafood, thoughtful and tasty accompanying ingredients, well cooked and delightfully served.

Inspired by the “EatDrinkHebrides” trail map, popped in to collect a picnic lunch during a Hebridean road trip. We had the most amazing toasties and hot chocolate. Handy for the ferry. Worth a detour!!

Great wee cafe next to the jewellery shop. Great cakes. Good pot of tea. Very friendly staff. Good place for cyclists to stop, just be careful on the unmade road.

Stunning view and friendly, efficient staff in a small family-run hotel. The quality of food was excellent, but fully grown humans may wish to order two main courses each, such was the rather miserly amount of actual food - scallops and monkfish respective.y - on our plates. Top marks for presentation and taste, but would have loved a little more.

Ate lunch here severally times when visiting Vatersay beach. Soup and various cakes need a special mention. Staff really friendly.

Despite being in this chip shop with an exemption lanyard round my neck on previous visits this time the owner shouted at me to wear a mask. He was shouting that because I was exempt doesn't mean he is and he could catch covid from me! There was a large hard plastic screen between me and the staff and none were wearing a mask themselves. I went to car and wore the mask which then resulted in me hyperventilating. And to top things off the food was substandard

Having booked a table for dinner online and requesting seating where we could bring our dog, we arrived to be told we could sit in the bar - not a problem. However we were then informed the only food available was bar snacks which basically was something & chips in a basket. Not what we were expecting! We therefore left and spent our £60 elsewhere. The logic of this management decision escapes me completely. The food is prepared in the same kitchen and on this occasion the restaurant was quieter than the bar. Still we voted with our feet and this place has lost our business not only for this meal but any others for the rest of our 2 week stay.

Such a disappointment …..think they must have different chefs on different days. I had lunch on Tuesday , scallops with a delicious sauce and a light cheese dressing and honeycomb snap which was so delicious I went back the next day. Ordered same dish …..padded out with some form of very dry potatoes, no snap and sauce almost totally absent. Very dry and mediocre lunch…..won’t be returning.

Really huge portions and such great choice. I would recommend, it’s in a beautiful location with really great views.

We had a lovely lunch here. The patio is the dog-friendly area and fortunately the weather was suitable for it! There were quite a lot of options and the service was good. You can visit the cafe without visiting the museum (although the museum is also interesting).

Lovely overnight stay. Great harbour views and fresh local produce. Staff very friendly and helpful
