We had a lovely lunch here. The patio is the dog-friendly area and fortunately the weather was suitable for it! There were quite a lot of options and the service was good. You can visit the cafe without visiting the museum (although the museum is also interesting).

Gluten Free available as someone with Coeliac disease the chef was fantastic. This is the first cafe I have been to that uses decent G.F rolls for soup. I buy these myself and was very surprised to see them on my plate. The chef was very accommodating. G.F pop cake was delicious and S.O had roll and sausage with egg. And a very generous slice of cake. Along with tea and coffee the total bill was excellent value.

After a couple of minutes a lad came out of the back and took our order. This was fine and I'd started to think that maybe the girl wasn't allowed to serve (even though it isn't a bar), but when I went to pay, she took the payment! Again, no smile, no thank you, nothing! We stopped off here for a snack/lunch and it was just fine - nothing exceptional - quite good coffee and cakes and pleasant staff. There aren't a lot of places to stop off in the Uists so we were pleased to see it

Yummy food, a museum and clean toilets in a local community centre with spectacular scenery all around. We were very glad we stopped here. Marvellous.

There are a number of places that could take a leaf out of the book of this cafe as far as providing simple food and not in the least pretentious. The home baking and snacks are just what is required. Perhaps the staff could be a little less shy and converse more with customers.

I nice wee place friendly staff but there menu is a bit unclear .... For instance on the main menu is Scrambled egg and toast but at 2 pm you can't get it as I was told it was a morning only item !!!That aside it's a nice place

We have just enjoyed a stunning meal at Number 30. Beautiful seafood chowder, then we shared the cod & seabass main dishes, very differently prepared, both delicious. We couldn’t resist the cranachan & pannacotta desserts, deliciously light & yummy. All in a peaceful airy room, with friendly attentive service.

We had booked 3 nights stay here but were a day late arriving as our ferry was cancelled, owing to fog. A 7 unit site with 2 showers with a toilet in the same room [En-suite]. One of the rooms was, imo, suitable for disabled guests. The facilities were clean with no extra charge for the showers. As the area was "remote" from the main site - hundred yards away and out of sight of the main site - access through the gate, into the shower/toilet block and chemical disposal point was by padlock code or Door Key Code. It worked and probably necessary as adjacent to the main road but slightly annoying. Good water supply and Grey water runoff easily accessed. The most expensive site we used in our holiday through the Outer Hebrides but West Harris Trust is a Community Charity so any profits presumably channelled back into Community Projects

Woodlands Center is located in Stornoway. It is a very peculiar wooden house, a teahouse made entirely of trees, and it is built in the jungle. The scenery is beautiful and the temperature is cool.
