The best restaurants serving British food in Central Scotland

Plenty staff who didn't acknowledge me standing waiting for a table, Soup was cold had to be sent back, Coffee was cold had to be sent back, asked for icecream with my gluten free brownie to be told that I couldn't have it.

Best fudge doughnuts I've ever eaten by a distance. An institution in St Andrews for a reason!

Friendly cafe ,a lovely welcoming place to get a coffee and a wee lunch ,Liz the staff member is so professional she treats everyone with a smile as do the young girls as well ,keep up the good work

Visiting the temporary exhibition but we found it too hot and crowded. The shop has gone unfortunately. On the plus side we received a warm welcome from the staff. We did not visit the cafe this time.

This is a hotel restaurant with a limited menu. Staff friendly. Not very busy, quiet. Food good, but nothing special.

Don’t go anywhere else. This is a busy bistro and café serving simple food which is of the highest quality and delicious. You can also have a glass of wine, beer, teas and coffee and soft drinks. The cakes look good too. It does takeaway. The staff are pleasant and very efficient. It has loos.

The venue is temporary closed (Jan 2025). Date for re- opening not known. Will amend this when it does.

Made a huge fuss about whether we had booked or not, despite it being the middle of the afternoon and the place being almost empty, then they stuck us at a table in the middle of the floor. A request to move was reluctantly accepted. Menu pretty uninspiring and service grumpy. Had a starter then went elsewhere.

Supposedly family friendly according to the website but the bouncer told us on the door 'no kids'. This was at 4.15pm on a Sunday so no way this place is 'family friendly'. I'd take the Greene King/Belhaven website with a pinch of salt and not trust any statements that their pubs are 'famiky friendly'

Good beers, good atmosphere and good music in a lovely little town near Stirling!

Proper pub grub! But no longer a pub, just an awesome restaurant with large portions, and a cosy friendly atmosphere. Best restaurant in Grangemouth!!

Mirror the other poor reviews,Staff and food perfect 👌 the chef is so talented. But sadly the price of drinks is extortionate. New Owner never done his research this is dining out in Perth not Edinburgh. Wont be in any rush to return.

Nice atmosphere and quick service. Blue cheese burger was very nice.

Visited for a mother's Day dinner. The food was good quality and good value for money. However, the service was atrocious despite that only being two other tables occupied in the restaurant at the time we visited. The staff seemed largely inept and disinterested. The service was so bad at one point we were rolling about laughing.
