Dinner with friends. I arrived after others had their food, as they were early. Service was pretty slow, but possibly the kitchen was busy. Some of the food was dry and hard (Yorkshire pudding) and not enough gravy in the portion size to soften things. It was tasty overall though. Good atmosphere and a decent number of locals in, so is a decent pub in general.

Didn't eat on my visit so can't comment on the food. Big bar with plenty of seating, upstairs has some pool/snooker tables and you can use it as a function space. Reasonably priced with a really good selection of draught beer and spirits. Some of the clientele leave much to be desired 😆

We are in the UK visiting from Canada. We wanted a venue where we could meet with family who live here and enjoy a meal together. It did not go as planned. Our experience with this establishment was confusing from start to finish. I used their online reservation booking system to accommodate five diners. The day before our meal I received an email reminding me of the reservation and confirming that we were still planning on dining there. When the first member of our party arrived and informed a member of staff that we had a reservation, they responded with disbelief. "We don't do reservations." They unceremoniously directed him to go upstairs and "find a table." Confused because he had a copy of the email reservation on his phone, he never-the-less followed instructions and “found a table.” The dining area was the same as the drinking and playing pool area. The latter had a group of young men around the table who were so loud that we could hardly hear each other speaking. After I went downstairs to order food (and drinks), it took an eternity to arrive, and when it did, it was lukewarm. It was an extraordinary experience without any personal attention to customer service or satisfaction. The website gave the impression that we would be dining, not sitting at a small pub table and doing all the work except cooking the food for ourselves. I do not recommend the New Market Bar for dining unless you are "grabbing a bite with a pint."

Popped in for some lunch with the dog and he was spoiled by the staff with treats and cuddles. The fish was fantastic and the range of drinks is huge. Will deffo be back.

Always a friendly welcome at the new market. The pub has recently become dog friendly so even the little pup gets a good welcome and some treat. The live music on fridays is fantastic great range of singers.

Went here for first tim today first visit to falkirk aswell food was cold when it finally arrived juice was flat and it was very run down looking place bar staff were not very cheery or talkitive was a disspointed esp at the time my food took and for it to be cold and table had left over food on it also wont be back shame as food choice was pretty good loved the hunter chicken fries but shame they taste old and stale and cold :(

If you like farm food meals go there and not Newmarket Bar and you’ll pay a lot less.

Great bar. Lovely food. Lots of tvs with great picture quality for sports fans. The young man serving showed very good knowledge of which dishes were gluten free. He came from behind the bar to open the door when he saw my mum's wheelchair. Excellent service. 👏👏👏👏
